I originally thought it was because of the free pool, or the divey neighborhood vibes. Nope. It's because of these hotdogs! I went strait for the stand as soon as I exited our uber. The smells draw you in, and you're immediately greeted by the chefs. I go all out and order the jumbo "ultimate gourmet". They work at a great pace to feed hungry customers but take their time enough to ensure their level of quality is met. Great group of guys. Spreading the cream cheese on both sides of the bun evenly, slicing the dog down the middle in order to cook and create a nice crisp sear to the dog. Professionals!... I didn't pay attention to the rest of the assembly, but next thing I know, I'm staring at a delicious hotdog. Pictures don't do justice. The pineapple habanero sauce added the perfect amount of sweetness and barely any spice to the top. I need to go back for more. I would walk blocks from the beach for these.

Farmers' markets bring me absolute joy and this is one of the very best we've been to! It's huge…read moreand spacious, organized and there were so many vendors around! From delicious food, to fresh produce, to the most gorgeous and vibrant flowers, to beautiful pottery, to unique clothes... you name it, they have it there! Make sure to come early as parking can be a bit tricky, especially if you want to park closer to the farmers' market. Once you get parked though, everything is a breeze. They even have tables and chairs around for people to eat at. There's also a playground for families who have little ones! I could never go to a farmers' market and leave without fresh flowers, so of course I had to pick up some from Hidalgo Flowers. They always have the most colorful and stunning arrangements, and for a decent price too. This time, I got a bunch with the prettiest sunflowers. We also picked up the sweetest and reddest strawberries from this one vendor. I highly regret not getting their name, but I will definitely be on the hunt for them the minute we go back. We got a cup of strawberries with some dark chocolate sauce from Strawberries and Chocolate. That was sooo good! We devoured it so quickly, we didn't even get to take a picture of it. One of the standouts for me was the Pork Sisig Rice from Baryo Eats. It was AHHHHMAZING!! It's the best kind of pork sisig that I love to eat--the taste was so good and nostalgic, it took me back to my college days back in the Philippines! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We also got some Paella from Driana Catering/Taste of Spain. It was so flavorful and the rice was cooked to perfection. We were just sad they ran out of shrimp by the time we got some, so we were left with chicken only. We got some goodies from It's Cafe Thai as well--Milk Tea with Boba, Taro Thai Coffee, and the Mango Sticky Rice. All of them had just the right amount of sweetness and hit the spot for us. Lastly, we had some of the watermelon and the cucumber lemonade refreshers, and the chicken and pork tamales from Gourmet Tamales. They were so good, we even took some home for later! Overall, I'm already looking forward to the next Sunday we can stop by this farmers' market!

Stars off for parking and crowds, but we lucked out on great parking and were on the way out when things were getting peak crazy. Now - all my treasures. There was a bread guy. Great breads. Focaccia. Banana bread. Sourdough. Looked beautiful, but unassuming. The deliciousness level - wow! Broccolini, squash, carrots, celery, onion. Then, the berries! Look and try. You'll know the ones you want. Oceanside? Carlsbad? I am on strike as of now and will be hard pressed to make due with a Driscolls berry. Oh - and this magical little orange. I should have bought 5 pounds. I drank fresh OJ while we were there. 11/10. I'm so happy that after an awesome vacation of vacation dates and treats we get to keep it going with some lighter meals. I made tuna salad with celery and onions. Well have grilled veg with dinner. Magical berries all day. The special grilled cheese with gruyere, honey, mustard and all the other little meals il weave my Ja Jolla open air marked finds - incredible. Then, all the things I didn't buy because they wouldn't have survived in the car. Salad. Flowers. Tomatoes. All beautiful.

Right away, he greeted us warmly, handed my daughter a banana, and kindly asked for about 20 minutes to get set up. He was ready in less than that. Good thing we were early, because by 7:30 a line was already forming! I ordered two iced biscoff lattes with whole milk, a side of milk, and five beignets with chocolate hazelnut filling. When I noticed he had used oat milk instead of whole, he immediately offered to remake both drinks. I told him not to worry about it -- honestly, the lattes were SO good it didn't even matter! But what happened next truly blew me away: he told me my entire order was on him for the mix-up. I insisted on paying but he wouldn't hear of it, and on top of that, he wanted to give my daughter a muffin too. I was speechless. That kind of genuine, above-and-beyond hospitality is so rare. The biscoff latte is an absolute must (even with oat milk), it was incredible. And the beignets with chocolate hazelnut filling? Do not skip them. The setup itself is charming! A cute picnic table alongside the mobile shop, fresh flowers nearby at the gas station, and just an all-around wonderful vibe. This man runs his business with so much heart. We will absolutely be back. Highly, highly recommend!

At first glance, we knew we were in for a true authentic and great meal when we saw other Persians dining at the restaurant ;D Vibes: Namino shares a parking lot with other food establishments but on a Tuesday afternoon, we didn't have trouble finding a spot. The restaurant gives a mom and pop vibe, where they warmly welcomed us in. I loved that the lady gave us a bell to ring when we're ready to order. There were more than a handful of 4 person tables available inside. No outdoor seats. The guy who took our order and served our food was welcoming and our food came out within 10 minutes. Food: -Beef Koobideh Kabob ($15.95): skewer of suuuper flavorful beef served on a bed of saffron rice with a side salad and half a roasted tomato. I saw one of the reviews here that said to put sumac powder on the rice-- thank you for that! I asked for tzatziki sauce on the side and it paired well with the kabob. -Beef Kabob Sandwich ($11.95): my husband ordered this and he loved it as well. If we weren't in a hurry to catch a movie, I would've loved to try the baklava. Overall: A great authentic Persian restaurant located in La Jolla. You won't be disappointed!

Quaint ambience…read moreand old school city service (you just gotta flag people down) but the food is highly recommended. Namino, located in the holiday court lot (next to the Whole Foods plaza) is a small space looking like an east coast diner. They have a small menu and don't mind if you help yourself to drinks and a seat. The owner literally just told me to shout out my order when I was ready. No nonsense, quick, and it worked well. No complaints there. Service 9/10 Fesenjoon: That day's special. This dish is phenomenal and a hefty portion. The stew itself was not shy at all about flavor; an appreciable sweetness and tart flavor coming from pomegranate, an earthy blend of spices (for sure can taste bag and cinnamon as well as toasted walnuts. I'm sure there's more) and the chicken is clearly well seasoned. The stew itself is not to thin or thick, resembling a texture slightly thicker than a Japanese style curry. The specials are served with a side salad and saffron rice. The salad is dressed with a yogurt based dressing. Light and refreshing. Nothing surprising. The saffron rice is lightly seasoned with saffron, mostly white rice. The big kicker here is tableside condiments include sumac, and that is a huge bonus. Pour a liberal amount in your rice and thank me later. Gotta love a Persian restaurant with sumac! Food 9/10. The tea served is a spiced black I believe. May be an acquired tasted for those used to English breakfast. I'll definitely be back. Namino is great for a quick lunch and the food is fantastic. Hopefully I'll be able to try more of the menu soon!
