I've heard drunken tales of how delicious their dogs are. These tales aren't fictional, best hotdogs in SD! My friends often go to bar that this cart shows up at (The Dog). I originally thought it was because of the free pool, or the divey neighborhood vibes. Nope. It's because of these hotdogs! I went strait for the stand as soon as I exited our uber. The smells draw you in, and you're immediately greeted by the chefs. I go all out and order the jumbo "ultimate gourmet". They work at a great pace to feed hungry customers but take their time enough to ensure their level of quality is met. Great group of guys. Spreading the cream cheese on both sides of the bun evenly, slicing the dog down the middle in order to cook and create a nice crisp sear to the dog. Professionals!... I didn't pay attention to the rest of the assembly, but next thing I know, I'm staring at a delicious hotdog. Pictures don't do justice. The pineapple habanero sauce added the perfect amount of sweetness and barely any spice to the top. I need to go back for more. I would walk blocks from the beach for these. read more

I was working the other night and I had the craving for some bacon wrapped Hot dogs and I finally found my spot in PB. The food is amazing and what makes it even better is the people that work there. Valen and Mike are awesome! They are what makes their business profitable. As soon as you walk up they both give you a huge smile and welcome you to their business. They are patient while you make up your mind on what to order. I ended up ordering a bacon wrapped hot dog with some jalepenos. It was awesome! I wish they could have grilled the jalepenos for me, but maybe i'll ask next time. PRO's: Amazing fresh food, wonderful staff members, clean food stand CON's: A little pricey (but they are huge), Sometime the local drunks stop by and make fools of themselves All in all I had a great experience. I went there this past Wednesday for the $1 draft special at The Dog on wednesday nights, and I was starving so I decided to give this conveniently located little booth a try, and boy was that a GREAT choice. I ordered the happy hour special: 2 Hot Louisiana Sausages for $8. While the owners were cooking my dog, and making my bacon extra crispy (did I mention the free unlimited toppings on the premium dogs?), we chatted about the hot dog business and all that and they were two really awesome people. I got cream cheese and bacon on my first one, and cream cheese, bacon, chili, onions, jalapeños on the second. Oh, and both had shredded cheese that was melted with a torch! All in all, this place has everything that a great hot dog stand should have: - Awesome food - Awesome owners - Awesome prices (!!) - Awesome location I wish it was always open, I would eat there all the time! If I could suggest one thing to the owners, it would probably be to try getting crazy varieties of sausages (like Wurstkuche in LA), to really stand out from the rest of the hot dog stand pack in PB. Oh, and maybe some grilled peppers and stuff. Other than that, this place is phenomenal, and deserves no less than 5 stars. Was at The Dog for $1 beers and my buddies said I had to try this places hotdogs. PHENOMENAL. Perfect drunk food. Make sure to get their homemade habanero and pineapple sauce. Price is a tinge on high side for a hot dog, but well worth it when you're drunk and looking for something ridiculously tasty. It's a couple running the stand and they are pretty cool.
