I had already purchased a taco elsewhere and decided to add a little salsa from here. My child had just ordered food at this location, and his meal came with a cup of salsa, so I didn't think there would be any issue. However, the lady at the counter scolded me, saying she needed to charge extra. I tried to explain that the salsa came with my child's meal, but she interrupted, grabbed the condiments away, and continued raising her voice in front of other customers. It was extremely embarrassing and completely unnecessary. After this encounter, I will not be returning to this location. I plan to share my experience publicly on social media so others are aware of how the staff treats customers. Avoid this place!

Crafts, jewelry, even a psychic reader.... A lot of people confuse this with the Farmer's Market- that's on Thursday morning. I haven't been there in years! This is called Sunset Market because it's in the evening! We've been there so many times that we know where out favorite food stands are. My oldest son loves the birria mac and cheese tacos while my youngest son loves a certain french fry stand. My partner and I love finding new food stands and trying them. They're often overlooked...and that's a shame! There's a fun kiddo area if you're bringing little ones- I've seen bounce houses there. Pro-tip- there's a line of portable restrooms by the kid bounce house section. There's also live music with local bands and a few high tops there. They go very quickly. Lots of people just grab a seat on the curb and eat. Every year, it get more and more crowded- people, strollers, dogs...it's nearly impossible to walk down certain food heavy streets to see what's down there. So, we try to time our trips to arrive as soon as the market starts and then leave when the crowds really start flowing in. And every year, it gets more and more expensive...so be prepared. Cash is king there, unless you don't mind paying service fees on credit cards and even venmo).

Sadly, seems like my main dish was the only one that was off. For the side dishes, I do highly recommend the potato puree. The roasted mushroom is again, overly salted. For dessert, we ordered coffee and a tiramisu cheesecake. Amazing amazing cheesecake and excellent coffee. When I asked where the coffee was from, the server actually gave us a free bag of coffee beans since they actually don't sell the coffee at the roaster, so I really appreciated this gesture. Overall, I think the quality of the food here is somewhat inconsistent. Some dishes we had were great and others were off. But the excellent service here (and the fact they gave us free bag of coffee) warrants an extra star, which is why I'm giving this place a 4/5. Would I come back to this place again though? Probably not given how expensive the food is and the inconsistently quality, but it was nice that I gave this place a try in San Diego.

One couple was ready to leave when their food came out at that exact moment. The servers did apologize and told us that they were having issues with the kitchen. They also offered us all free orange juice. However, if they knew they were having issues with the kitchen then they should've told us earlier before we got seated so people could go elsewhere rather than waiting an hour for their food. Overall, service here was very poor. In terms of food, it was unfortunately pretty good but not worth the wait. I really liked the simple toast with matcha cream on top as well as the curry hamburg. My friend ordered the shakshuka (not pictured because it came last and everyone just wanted to eat at that point) which was also pretty good. For the avocado toast, the toast was too hard so I wouldn't recommend it. We also ordered a yuzu and matcha yuzu mimosa. Both tasted like yuzu. The matcha yuzu one was basically a green yuzu mimosa. They have a vero water purification system so their water was really good lol.

This time it was in the parking lot across from The Joint and a few paces from The Harp and Pacific Shores. As the only hot dog cart in the area, it's a no-brainer. There aren't any alternatives along the sidewalk, other than maybe driving to the Jack in the Box down the boulevard or track down a taco shop nearby, but that's still too far for the usual hungry zombie shuffling down the sidewalk or for bar patrons that just closed their tab out. My Costco sensibilities say I shouldn't pay more than a buck-fifty for a plain hot dog, which includes a soda pop. There are a variety of specialty dogs, sausages, and vegan tofu dogs on the menu, with pricing between $2.25 for a plain turkey dog and $4.75 for a loaded dog. Unfortunately, the bacon-wrapped TJ danger dog is not on the menu. There is also an assortment of condiments to fully dress it up. Thumbs up for the Sriracha. The barbecue and hot sauces in unlabeled squeeze bottles are also good to try. Soft drinks to wash it all down are sold separately for $1. I had the OB Special. It was meh; not great. My gripe is that it was served up cold. I don't think any part of it was even warmed up. I've had dirty water dogs and grilled dogs, where they've been cooked and served hot. Maybe the propane tank was empty or they forgot to light it, but I thank my iron stomach for not suffering any illnesses. The relative easy to find location, late night snacking hours, and good customer service are all winners, but getting a Cold Diggity Dog is such a bummer.

The meat was tender and flavorful and the rye bread was also very soft yet had the chew that you expect from a good rye. I'll probably try the Pastrami dip next time just to try it dipped in jus and the smoked pastrami. They both sound amazing.
