In 2023 I had shoulder replacement. I chose Chesapeake Aquatics at Bowie because I am a long time member of the Bowie gym. I saw how good the aquatic PT was so chose them for my shoulder. The whole office is kind and helpful. They helped me very much recover from my shoulder surgery. Now in March 3024 I broke my wrist. I went right back to my PT "family". Chi, the leader, and Jakob were my main PTs. The support staff especially Charlene were very accommodating. Everyone cares about their patients. I highly recommend this place. The new patient process is frustrating. You have to fill out the paperwork multiple times and then the doctor still does not know why you are there. Worst part is I asked for help with multiple issues, and the doctor would not listen to what I was telling them. They wanted to do one thing and would not stop until I consented, which I did not. They even asked to me to talk to another patient about this one thing. I am not sharing my medical stuff with a random person in the office. Particularly since they do not have my situation. I even tried to talk to the practice manager, but she could not make the time to even call me back. read more

At first, I wasn't able to back in a parking space without having pain, not able to reach to get something out of my kitchen cabinet without pain. The staff is very professional. Both the land & aquatic therapy was great. Jessie & Ukaegbu is great. I want to think them for some exercises I can do going forward in the water. I hate to give this practice 2 stars but Krystal M. Treated me like crap on my last visit. I'm mean stone faced me when I walked in and spoke. She didn't respond until I said GM twice. Cold as ice. I almost walked out. I'll NEVER schedule with her again. She almost made me feel like an inmate. THANK GOD Monique worked during my visit. Quit the opposite. Warm smile with great bedside manners. She may have been the only reason I made it through this appointment. Jody also gave great customer service. I believe she left this practice. She needs to be brought back. Allllllll of the assisting staff provide great service with great attitudes. Front desk seems to always be behind with frustration. I have been delighted with the patient care, outstanding knowledge, and performance of my physical therapists, Chi and Jessie, and their support at Chesapeake Bay Aquatic and Physical Therapy in Bowie. Chi helped considerably by building a rigorous program on land and pool for my post-op Lumbar Spinal and Laminectomy surgery. He explained thoroughly why my problems exist and have been diligent in helping me through recovery. I started the program with severe back soreness, stiffness, groin pain, and limited mobility in those areas. My treatment program includes lumbar, hip, and core strengthening exercises, postural control, and activities to increase my overall flexibility. These modalities have proven successful, and I can now complete exercise routines with minimal challenges. Chi, Jessie, and their team are the "Best of The Best" physical therapists I have had the pleasure to work alongside. Jessie's abilities, attitude, kindness, and expertise are unprecedented. She is an excellent asset to the company. I am grateful also to have Jessie educate me and relieve my pain (especially my groin area) while explaining every step of the way. Jessie is a highly trained and professional. Lastly and often overlooked is the front desk staff member LaShawn. She is sincerely appreciated. Lashawn does all of the scheduling, and her attitude is always relentless, no matter how often I need to change a date or time. I came to Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Therapy for some neck issues. I came here through the VA, since the VA was overbooked. I would rather come here. The staff is friendly and good to work with. I did strictly land based therapy, and as you can tell by the name, they offer aquatic therapy. The take home exercises and stretching activities are good and helped with my issues. I would especially thank Chi who pushed me through my exercises and stretches. I even had the other staff doing the exercises with me. Then they realized how tough some of the exercises were! I was scheduled for 14 sessions, but "graduated" ahead of schedule. All in all I would recommend CBAY to anyone looking for a friendly PT location. read more

Went to CBAPT for my back issues. Did land and water therapy and this was the best therapy I have ever had. Went for about 20 sessions initially. The land therapy helped some but the water therapy was really really helpful. The staff was really great. No complaints at all. Luckily I don't need them anymore but god forbid I did have to go to therapy again I would be going here. read more

Since coming to Chesapeake Bay Aquatic & Physical Therapy we have noticed a more intense and and more helpful physical therapy than the previous PT provider; my kid says he can feel it working, unlike the previous PT provider (mentioned later in this review). Also, no surprise billing like the previous PT, and more professional than the previous PT, we are so much happier w/CBA&PT. We came to Chesapeake Bay Aquatic & Physical Therapy to continue physical therapy after leaving Break Away Physical Therapy in Crofton because they overcharged and didn't provide an itemized bill, we were very unhappy w/the way they handled their billing, they were basically double charging us, for physical therapy, and again for "training" for each visit *blank stare* My kid really likes CBA&PT in Bowie, way more than Break Away in Crofton, and no surprise billing for "training" that ins. wouldn't cover because it was exorbitant like Break Away did. I'm super grateful we switched and it went so well. read more

Very professional staff. There is no problem with the physical therapy office. The key problem I have is with the Bowie location in the Sportfit Bowie Fitness Center. The wearing of masks is a problem with those going in and out of the fitness center. These people pass by the physical therapy offices and it's not comfortable. The staff is abused by fitness center members who scream at them when asked to wear a mask. It is a problem and I hope the local health authorities are aware of it. read more

It was just "OK" - nothing particularly wrong with Chesapeake Bay Aquatic & PT (physical therapy), but it felt like a cattle-call each time I went to PT. I didn't receive a lot of one-on-one attention like I have at other PT facilities. They seemed to be over-booked with patients every time I was there to receive treatment. I originally tried this facility because I wanted to try PT in the water. The water-based PT was easier and more fun than land exercise, but I don't feel like it benefited me (lumbar issues). I often would be sitting and waiting (in land or water) for someone to tell me what my next exercise should be. They weren't hyper-critical of how I preformed my exercises either (which might be one of the reasons I don't think I benefited much from therapy at this location). They share their facility with Sport Fit; their location isn't very glamorous. It's in the bowels of the building, kind of hodge-podged together. Parking is also an issue sometimes. The professional/PT staff was super-friendly with great personalities. The admin staff (front counter) was hit-or-miss depending on who was working the counter. I went there about 6 weeks and ended up going to a smaller, more one-on-one setting to receive PT. read more

For many years I have had problems with back pain. My doctor recommended physical therapy about five years ago, however, it didn't help me very much. Recently, my new doctor recommended aquatic PT and since I had heard good things about CBAY I chose to go there and I'm glad I did. I went two to three times a week and alternated between land and water sessions. I graduated today and I'm very pleased to report that my back pain has practically ceased. After having a TKR before, I knew it would be tough and actually that's what I need. When I started therapy, I had pain in my IT band, within approximately 4-5 sessions the pain was gone! Cbay in Bowie is the best physical therapy provider I have ever had. The therapists are knowledgeable and committed to all their patients. The Bowie facility is high quality. I received aquatic PT for rehabilitation following total knee replacement. I have had better results than previous rehab experiences by working out in the warm therapy pool under the gentle guidance of the therapists. And the front desk staff are very helpful and friendly, helping me find convenient appointments. I highly recommend Cbay in Bowie, MD for anyone seeking superior physical therapy. I am a senior and have 3 pins in my right knee which causes me periodic pain. I get shots at least once a year in both knees. After this happens, I have to do physical therapy both land and aquatic because of low impact. I am also a 3 times stroke survivor. I have been many places for therapy so I have room to do a comparisons. This has been the BEST by far! So much so that I come back time and time again. The staff is always friendly, patient, caring, and dedicated to their physical science. They explain the benefits of the exercise and why form is important. This allows the patient to work on getting the best results without injury. The therapy pool is great, normally 90 degrees ! The collaboration with Sports Fit is definitely a plus!! read more
