I was a little disappointed in our steamed half bussel large male crabs. My first thought was "oh man they changed the seasoning " felt the seasoning was flat. First trip there since they changed hands. I also felt they needed a bit longer in the pot. We kind of had to fight for all the meat. But over all they were good. I did appreciate them selling me clams and cleaning them for me before I steamed them off at my place. I went to prepare them and was surprised to find them ready to go! Thank you! Horrible! I specifically paid for Premium Heavy Large Male Blue crabs. I paid for them and received par less. Medium, cracked , mushy, small crabs. I was so embarrassed this Memorial Day weekend after praising them from my first order. I will never order from them again. The shrimp pasta fell flat - only 2 shrimp in a quart container, penne pasta instead of shells, the dressing was way too salty and too much vinegar. I've been going for years. So here is my experience. Ordered XL crabs this morning. They told me they had them in. Got there and was told they had to add large crabs to the order because their truck was late. Then they almost charged me $116 for crabs and then they caught the error and charged me less. There is also a sur-charge for credit cards. Then I get home 7min later to find Luke warm crabs. Had to put them in the oven. This is twice now I have had issues. Ok just finished. Horrible crabs. Light, no flavor, not MD crabs, just poor quality. $100 wasted. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Purchased 6 live lobsters today. 3 of which had broken claws and damaged exposed meat. Refused a refund even though I was never given the chance to look at them prior to being bagged and paid for. Returned within 30 mins of picking up. The customer service was awful. The guy working knew he was in the wrong and still still didn't do anything to rectify. Beware. Apparently owners decision. Shame on you. Do better. read more

Love this place they are always accommodating and helpful. I tend to do my shopping at the last minute but they are always helpful plus if I need something cooked they are more than willing to.. you do have to wait as a lot of people call in orders and I have seen many come in feeling rather entitled since they called. I ordered a bushel of crabs to be delivered on Saturday. They said to expect delivery at noon and at noon my crabs came. They came with a mallet , bibs, little things to pry crabs out with and lots of spices and seasoning. So, a lot of the crabs only had one claw. Not sure whether they got into a fight or what? Lots of missing claws. Other than that I would order again and they were delicious. Oh, the other thing of concern is that I paid almost $73 shipping for overnight. When I read the invoice it showed that it shipped on Thursday at 4 PM. If I don't get them till Saturday at noon, how old were my crabs and why did I pay for such a cost for shipping? I must say. I was very excited when I heard about this place being I am a huge crab eater. We met the owner which seemed like a very nice, friendly guy. The place is very nice, clean inside- seems very legit. The problem was when we got home after paying $210 for 2.5 dozens of crabs. Yes, they were good for being Large but to pay $80 a dozen is absolutely insane for what we got. I know many places nearby that have the same size and quality for $45- $50 a dozen. I hate to bash a place especially with a very friendly owner but there isn't a chance I would come back here for crabs. Bottom line, they do most of their business online nationwide so I see people out of state willing to pay those insanely high prices... but for a local that knows his crabs and has been eating them for many years, I would advise not coming here. I was promoted by Facebook reviews so curiosity killed the cat on this one. All good, you live and learn. read more

I bought the 1/2 Bushel Small and Medium mixed for $99 on 29 August at the Columbia location. Worst crabs I have had from your store all summer and I am a regular. 99% of the crabs in the box were Small if we had two or three Mediums we were lucky. Quite of few which I should have measured didn't even look legal. Threw away at least a half dozen didn't look or smell good to eat. Very disappointed in the quality, maybe it's because I ordered during the week, I usually order on Saturday. I DON'T like re-heated crabs, when I order I expect the crabs to be cooked just before I pick them up. Re-heated crabs us like re-heated pizza they suck. I always get XL-Crabs, got a dozen the week before, ordered them through Holly as usual they were excellent and hot. If you live close to here, do yourself a favor and come here to get crabs. DO NOT ORDER, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! Long story short, I ordered a bushel arriving last Saturday and they smelled spoiled. I called and emailed immediately and again the next day but they didn't respond till Monday! For God's Sake, it's spoiled seafood! I couldn't risk my family getting sick so I preserved them in the freezer to wait for their response. The crabs smelled SOOOOO BAD overnight even in the freezer and I had to throw them away as I headed out to work Monday morning. This company policies are insulting to customers and there is no refund whatsoever. They'd send you gift card with your next purchase but will you pay more money just to get more spoiled seafood? For you and for your family's safety, don't order from them. I'm very upset about what happened, and please don't let the same thing happen to you. The CHEAPEST shipping is $35!!! For ANYTHING (and most of the things on their website are way overpriced anyway). I live within the one-day shipping zone since I live in the same state and it was still $35. THEN they also charge their own $9.99 packaging service (yes, they charge you for packaging their own products to send it to you) which is ON TOP of the shipping and handling charge. So whatever you buy, you're paying at least $45 more to even get it. They also recommend you purchase their $4 shipping insurance, and from what I've read in the other reviews, you'll probably need it because if you don't get your package or it's damaged they won't send you another. I bought a Groupon, but after seeing all the added charges (which are on top of their already ridiculously high prices) I canceled it. He told me they were still going through the crabs and didn't know if they had enough larges to make a dozen so it might have to be a mix of medium and larges. I said ok I prefer more larges than mediums. He asked when I wanted them ready and I said 5:00. I got there at 4:45 only for them to tell me they only had females left. Called and reserved 1 dozen 'extra large' crabs. Picked them up, ($90.00) and took them home for dinner. WHAT A RIP OFF! The largest crab was 5 1/2 inches. Two of the crabs were really heavy and delicious. One was spoiled. The remaining eight were really light and watery. (I know that only adds up to 11 - that's all I got.) NEVER AGAIN. Horrible and bad customer service. I called the Oxford location last Saturday afternoon, October 8th for 2 dozen crabs and soup for a special they were running that came in my email. Gave my name and phone number. The person on the phone said the order was good and yes, that was the special for $79.95. Told them what time I would pick my order up. Later when I arrived at the Oxford location, one of the employee said they did not receive the order, but will put it in. I told him about the special, and the employee told me that I got it mixed up with a mail to home delivery order, which was not the case. I pulled up the email(which took me a while to locate). Once I had, both of the employees read it and still called the manager to get it oked. I don't understand if I had the email, and the special was send by Crab connection, and I had confirmed it in the phone, they still had to confirm it again? After that I finally got my order. This not the end. The employee told me that if I used my credit card, I would be charged 3.9% which is no where on their website! Now I am really angry. I first gave him my credit card, and then I changed my mind and took the card out of his hand and gave him a debit card and told them that I was being discriminated against since it felt like it ever since I came in. And I will not be doing business with them. One of employee said that I was using the race card, and they do not want my business! I was so angry, I cussed at them. Not my best moment. I had NEVER used my race to my advantage. The employees never apologized even though I was in the right. I also posted this review on their website, and SURPRISE, it is not on there. My mother in law ordered some crabcakes for us that they shipped incorrectly. They were shipped from PA on the 12/28 a Friday and we got them on Wednesday 1/2. 6 days later. No dry ice, they were not even cold anymore. So we cannot eat them and my MIL is out a good bit of money. We called them to try to get a resolution and they basically told us they could not help and blamed Fedex saying that Fedex does not deliver on Saturday or Monday. Ugh!!! read more

I would like to give negative stars. After seeing this on the Today show, I wrongly assumed they could handle Christmas orders with great customer service. In fact, they can't do either. I payed $36 in shipping plus $4 in shipping insurance for a gift to be delivered on Sat 12/21. It never showed up. They never sent me a confirmation tracking email. I've spoken to them twice today and been hung up before getting my tracking number. Over $150 and 10 phone calls later, and I'm no better off. I've never received worse service from a company. RIp off!! Lousy customer service!! Terrible product!! Ordered a turkey and all the fix-ins for CHRISTMAS dinner. Also, other crab products, salmon, etc. It was supposed to be delivered on December 20th so the turkey could unthaw and be ready for the big dinner. A message was left on my voicemail late on the 19th to let me know that the company missed the deadline to send out some of their orders and would try again on the 23rd (meaning my order would arrive on Christmas Eve). Freakin Fantastic!! So here I am on Christmas eve and my box just arrived. Turkey is frozen solid so useless for our meal. The "holiday fixins special" that I paid $14 was a bag of powdered gravy, a bag of dehydrated potatoes for maybe 2 people, a bag of frozen beans and a bag of stuffing mix. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!! I now have to find a way to get something for our holiday dinner at 5pm on Christmas Eve. What makes me really angry is that when I called them on Monday they didn't care and said that I was not the only one that didn't get my order so I shouldn't be angry! Well that makes me even angrier that they care so very little for their customers. Their prices are ridiculously high and the product is awful.
