Let me be the first to tell existing patients of CMI that the merger of CMI with RadNet (Advanced Radiology). I had an appointment scheduled 2 weeks before the merger officially took place on March 1, 2026. My appointment for an MRI was scheduled for March 3. I get a text stating that the MRI had to be canceled because prior authorization was not obtained prior to the appointment. The message said I was welcome to keep the appointment but the out of pocket cost would need to be paid at the time of service. When I called to say that a CMI representative told me authorization was obtained and the appointment was confirmed, I was told the merger took place on March 1 and the prior authorization for the appointment was for Chesapeake Medical Imagining (CMI), not RadNet and RadNet could not accept the prior authorization from CMI. The new company, RadNet explained that a new referral would need to be written from my provider and go through the whole prior auth process again!! This will delay the procedure another 10 to 14 days. This means I am waiting for a month or more for an MRI necessary for my doctor to evaluate and treat my condition. The doctor said he cannot ethically prescribe medication until he sees the results of the MRI. Not to mention that I was on hold with an extremely unprofessional RadNet representative (Amanda) for almost an hour while the rep went back and forth with the insurance authorization and billing department. This extraordinarily long hold time was NEVER an issue with CMI and scheduling and obtaining a prior atheization was never an issue. It seems like there is a monopoly with medical imaging because of this recent merger. I don't see these issues getting better since bigger seems to indicate more room for error and unprofessionalism. I have been a long-standing patient with CMI (14 years), but because of this merger and my most recent experience, I feel patient care has gone to the wayside and the professionalism was nonexistent. The good news is that I am a patient with Mercy and will transfer all of my medical imaging studies to them. To be clear, with this new merger of CMI and RadNet (Advanced Radiology), I o longer recommend this business to anyone. I gave 1 star because it was required. read more

I called for an appointment for the same day and they were able to fit me in by the grace of God! I went in not knowing what was to come. I have never done this before. So, I went to check in. The front desk was patient and kind with me. Once I turned in all my information and paid my copay, I was called moments later. The techs were knowledgeable and asked questions to make sure I was comfortable. I needed imaging for my doctor and had contrast (which I've never done before) but it went well. The day before I was stuck 4 times with a needle so I didn't want anyone who couldn't get it on the first try. When I tell you, the lady got me on the first try... I almost cried in relief. I hate being a pin cushion. From then on I laid back and let them do their thing. They explained everything to me and it was just as they said. I would go to them for everything no questions asked! For an MRI I waited 45 minutes until someone in the waiting room told me a machine was down. I then went to the front desk and was told that yes a machine was down and it would be an additional 40 minutes until I'd be seen. I asked to reschedule as I had to get back to work. I rescheduled for 1:30 and told the staff that I had another appointment at 2:45 and needed to know if that was possible. I was assured that it would be plenty of time. Again the same thing happened 30 minutes after my appointment and still yet to be seen. I do not recommend this location. read more

In June 2025 I had a scary scan scheduled; my pain was a level 4 with spikes to 6 [so managable]. But my fear was high. My tech, Pam, was amazingly thoughtful and kind. I appreciate that they take patients in active pain and/or in need of emergency scans quickly. I've also been at this same location and had my appointment delayed by about 20 minutes. But at the time, my scan was routine, not urgent. I realize that waiting happens so they can do proper triage of the patients with urgent needs. I highly recommend Chesapeake Imaging; I've been going there for about 20 years. read more

I've been giving Chesapeake Medical Imaging (CMI) on Defense Hwy in Annapolis my business for the last several years, but after today, I will no longer be a patient. I had an appointment scheduled for 4:45 this afternoon. I walked in with time to spare and began completing the paperwork (which wouldn't have taken long) when I was called back to the window and informed I couldn't be seen because I had my two children (4th and 6th grade) in tow - I had planned to leave them in the waiting room with books and my phone, but was told that wasn't possible for "liability reasons." Fine. I told the receptionist I would ring my husband (who manages a few car dealerships on Hudson and West) to come sit with the kids. I sat back down, continued with the paperwork, and rang my man who said he'd be right there. Shortly after, I was called back to the front counter and informed that the technician had already left (apparently, she didn't think I could have back-up there quickly enough and left without speaking with me). The receptionist said the tech could see me on Tuesday - I'm sure she could, but in addition to being a full-time mother, I also have a full-time job, a role in which I also answer to clients/customers. If my staff, or that of my husband, had ever provided such incredibly substandard service like this, they'd have been written up at the very least, but more likely, fired. The lack of consideration displayed in this situation is abhorrent and unacceptable. Apparently, CMI has so many patients, it doesn't matter if they treat repeat customers in such a manner - clearly a "you need us more than we need you" mentality. No thank you. I understand it was almost 5:00 on a Friday afternoon, but if the tech was in a hurry to start her weekend, the appointment shouldn't have been booked, and/or someone should have rang and informed me of the tech's need to leave early before I arrived. I walked out at 4:43 without booking another appointment and rang the office to speak with the manager, who, big surprise, had also left early. Now, someone, at some point over the last several years, probably should have informed me of this no-kids-in-our-office policy - they have my medical history, no secret I have children. This policy isn't listed on their website, or any of the forms either, from what I can see. Moreover, when I made the appointment this morning, I was told several people had canceled this afternoon, so it was no problem to be seen. Shortly after making the appointment, I received an email stating that I was welcome to come any time after 4:00, they had plenty of room. I can see now why folks might have canceled, and why several of my Annapolis-area doctors, in various fields of medicine, have suggested I get my mammograms done elsewhere. If zero stars were an option, that would be my rating of choice. For shame. read more

Medical Imaging like a CT scan, let alone being poked by a needle, are not something that anyone is excited about receiving. Maybe Pam the woman who clearly hates her job, should think about that the next time she helps somebody during their scanning process. Also, when you are digging into someone's arm trying to find a vein and they jump due to pain, maybe try and be a little bit more empathetic. I get the frustration as you do this type of thing everyday to patients, but Pam, your patients do not get poked and prodded by needles everyday. No other problem with this location, if there is another time I need any medical imaging done then I'll return to the location with a request to anyone but Pam to assist me in my imaging. read more

Run... do not walk to the nearest radiology center with a pleasant bedside manner! The receptionist was pleasant and conversant. The tech was not. When Megan told me to remove my cross, St. Michael, and St. Benedict medals for my CT scan, I had difficulty. I'm a 72 year old man. I said, "I promise we won't be going steady if you help me with this clasp." Her face snarled but she took the chain off. She asked the reason for my visit and, when I told her that I had suffered a fall six months ago and that my doc wanted a followup scan. She asked if I had had any other procedures associated with the fall, I said yes, that my nose had been stitched and leaned forward to show her the scar. She began screaming that I had to remain on the other side of the room. This confused me because I was standing at the machine. I asked her what had upset her and barked that she feared for her safety. Since she was wearing a large facemask, I figured that she was unusually fearful and layed down, as instructed, for the scan. I felt very uncomfortable in her hands. When finished, I suggested that she ratchet back anger for the sake of her bedside manner. She began screaming that I had made her feel unsafe with my comment about not going steady when I asked for help with my medals. At that point, she threatened to "include this in my notes!" I found this place on my own... not on a doctor's recommendation. I will not be returning and, for the readers' sake, I hope that I have warned them away from this disturbing care that falls far below the medical standards of practice! read more

I would give 10 stars if I could! This review is for the Bestgate Road location. The techs there are so extremely professional and compassionate. They could tell I was very scared and anxious, so they walked me through the entire process with patience and understanding. I had a scan with contrast dye and my tech explained every step, what I would feel, for how long, and when it would be over. She then helped me to my feet because I was so shaky. The other tech walked me out and offered to check on me after 10 minutes. I was a hot mess, but they could not have been more soothing and kind. According to the Radiologist, my pictures were great quality and very clear. I attribute that to the techs too. Thank you to the techs at the Bestgate Road location - you were simply superb! read more

Worst imaging center imaginable. My appointment was for 8. It's now 9:10 and I haven't been called yet. When I complained, I was told I could come back as a walk in. I was scheduled for two images. After the first, they forgot I was there. Then they said they'd take me next (10 minutes max). Twenty minutes later, still waiting. The technicians are fantastic. Erin took the information and assured me that the images would go to the doctor (who was already in their system) today. I've been a patient at Chesapeake Medical Imaging for several different test in the past. Most recently, I came in for a mammogram. From me making the actual appointment to the actual exam, everything went smoothly. I was even seen earlier than my scheduled appointment time. The lady who gave me the mammogram had 30 plus years of experience and it showed because she was extremely knowledgeable and absolutely a joy to be around. She explained the process of the how the test would go and what I should expect throughout. Such a pleasant person. The entire process was easy peasy! The office is practicing social distancing, so the chairs are placed strategically throughout and if reached capacity, you may be asked to wait in your car. No guest are allowed to wait inside. My past visits have also been pleasant. So pleasant, I usually choose to come to this Imaging Center over any others in the area. read more

It is really easy to get a convenient appointment, and there's ample parking in the lot. The receptionists and medical staff are welcoming, efficient and patient. Some basic customer service skills training is badly needed for members of the front office staff. Maybe if they'd stop eating while checking in patients, and handling the patient's insurance cards with fingers recently in their mouths, they wouldn't make mistakes like sending the results of my test, a sensitive and private one, to someone other than the doctor who ordered the test and whose name was on the referral. That breach of patient confidentiality is a HiPAA violation and should be reported. Calling a person who has an appointment to let them know that the tech supposed to do their test has gone for the day would be nice, too. read more

I have been going to Chesapeake Medical Imaging - Defense Highway, Annapolis for many years. My experiences have always been a 4 or 5. The staff was always courteous and genuinely helpful. But my experience today was so out of the range of my prior experiences, that I had to write this review. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful as always. But when the tech called my name, I could tell something was different. Yes, my mammogram appointment was at 5:20 PM, so it may have been the end of her shift. But she was so cold and almost hostile in giving me instructions. I know this procedure is painful but this time it was more painful than ever. The tech kept having to repeat the test. Finally she told me to sit in a chair so the machine could get a better image. But when the plate cam to me, it hit me hard in the chin. No apologies. No words of comfort. The whole time, the tech was cold, distant and uncaring. I have had open heart surgery and have had this test many times. I know pain and am familiar with the pain associated with mammograms. But, this time the pain was at a higher level than any of my prior experiences. The tech kept repeating the procedure with more pain each time. I fear she may have been new, poorly trained or just tired. But the testing process combined with her cold, uncaring attitude made my experience one that I will do whatever it takes to avoid in the future. My hiusband wrote htis review for me. read more

This place is AWFUL. They say one thing and deliver another. I was told 3 days for my images . Now its been 5 days. No images. Now I get the runaround from people that are not helpful at all. I would not recommend this business at all. You can't call and get a customer service person or a phone number to call anyone in management to voice a complaint. Chesapeake Medical Imaging is a solid, dependable place if you need any medical imaging done. They are friendly, quick and the waiting rooms and exam rooms are modern and up to date. I've been here for various reasons at least four times over the past few years. Each time I haven't waited more than 30 minutes - but usually less than 15. The waiting room will be full but it doesn't mean you have to wait for everyone in front of you since there are multiple doctors and examination rooms. There is no appointment necessary (or at least I have never made one) for an office visit. Each time I simply present the slip from my doctor and they take care of the rest. The office is on Defense Highway not far from the Mall and Home Depot. Being on the ground floor, there are no steps to enter the building, which is nice if you have a gimpy leg or bad back! read more

I have always used Arundel Diagnostics for my procedures. This time, I was recommended by my doctor to go to Chesapeake Imaging for a thyroid biopsy. I could not get an appt in the Annapolis location, so they scheduled one for me at their Bowie location. During the appt set up process, I provided ultrasound results to the annapolis location of chesapeake imaging, and they uploaded the images. Today, I showed up for my appt when they said I should (10am for a 10:15am appt). They were late and did not take me back until 10:45am. Then they said they could not find my images and were doing to do an ultrasound first. I told them that images had been provided when appt was made. Finally, they found images and reviewed them before coming into the room. Dr. Dial was the doctor. He was terrible from the start. Looked like a doctor right out of med school. Cold clammy hands and seemed very insecure. Not someone who you would feel comfortable doing any invasive procedure. He began the procedure with the ultrasound to find the nodules he needed to biopsy. He seemed to find them, but with some difficulty, and seemed unsure. He numbed my thyroid with lidocaine and continued to look for nodules. Then numbed me up again. As he continued to look for the nodules, he said that they were going to be difficult to reach, and then said he was going to 'pass' on the procedure. What a moron. Why would any doctor put a patient through that level of discomfort if they could not complete a procedure? Do you mean he could not make that decision BEFORE injecting the lidocaine into my thyroid...twice? This facility should be shut down. Dont ever use them or go to this clown. read more

The technician was efficient and explained the process clearly. So happy the radiologist contacted my doctor with the results immediately and I could start treatment that day. read more

The WORST experience!!! I had an appointment on this Monday at 5 pm. Patient First referred me there because I am experiencing a slight pain in my left breast. They thought I should get scanned as a preventive measure. After filling out all necessary paperwork a few minutes go by the receptionist ask me when was my last mammogram, I tell November 2020. She says well you can't get another one . She gets a tech and she says the same thing! I'm like so it's protocol to turn someone down for medical reasons when I'm trying to prevent or catch any issues sooner rather than later? She said your too soon because you had a scan last year. What in the world?! Even if I pay out my pocket ? She said yes! By this time I'm pissed completely off!!!! I said to her how can you compare my issue from November to June? In November I had bigger breast and in January I had a reduction so I need to know if I'm having issues from the reduction that's why I needed to be scanned! NEEDLESS TO SAY...CHESAPEAKE IMAGINING DENIED ME MEDICAL ATTENTION!!!!! Later someone from that business called me to see what happened, I gave her the same story as posted here and she apologized and said that type of behavior was not acceptable and she would be reporting it to the necessary authorities. I'm not sure if it happened because I haven't heard not one word from anyone! I was given another appointment but I will be canceling today! I had an appointment that went great but I have to give one star because it has since been IMPOSSIBLE to schedule or get them on the phone. I need a second appointment and called seven times during business hours over the last week and couldn't get through. Each time I left a message with the answering service which promises a call back but there was no callback. Eventually I tried their website scheduling tool - and then got an email telling me they had made an appointment for me for a different date/time than I requested. They also didn't tell me which of their many offices the appointment is scheduled at. Now I can't get through to confirm the office or try to change. I'm at a loss. Probably just going to have to go to a different company. I feel bad ghosting on the appointment but if I can't get through to even find out where it is what else can I do? read more

I specifically made an appt for a 3t open MRI for a brain scan for my husband, who is extremely claustrophobic. My doctor sent over all necessary paperwork the week before his appointment. His appointment was at 11 so we arrived 15 minutes early. We had all of his forms signed and in hand. After 45 minutes we were told they didn't have drs orders which in fact they did. Then they tried to give him the wrong mri. Again another delay. They hadn't checked his appt details. Finally an hour and a half later they took him back. He's so frustrated as am I. On the bright side, the people are very nice read more

Efficient staff, pretty updated equipment, fast notification of reports. No complaints, really. The exterior (and probably the interior) décor leaves much to be desired, but the guts are what counts. A little TLC wouldn't go amiss, though. Oh, and the staff were pretty friendly, which is always a plus for a medical facility. read more

She apologized for what happened to me and - per my request - mailed me a CD with my scans on it so I could get a second reading by another radiologist. Although that doesn't change what happened, I greatly appreciate Colleen's help. I think the office will be diligent about preventing what I experienced happening to others. read more

Imaging machine has been broken for at least 3 days. The first day they told me it was being serviced and to call 410-571-0350 before coming back. I called this number several times and no one answers. I went back today, walked in one girl behind counter was falling sleep. I had just called and no one answered. I've been coming here for at least 4 years. Office staff is efficient and polite. Today, Everyone looks very festive in Christmas sweaters and hats. Imaging technician is very good, gentle, knowledgeable, and nice. I have only had to see the doctor once and she was thorough, calming,and pleasant. At times parking can be a challenge. read more

Annapolis Location - I recommend going to a facility that will do their due diligence in preparation of their patients visits and not antagonize pregnant women in fetal crisis. The staff did not do their work in preparation of my appointment, forcing me to do it during my appointment instead of receiving my ultrasound. My money was no good, but my husbands was; presumably because I'm a Puerto Rican female and he's a white male. My pregnancy is high risk as is and I did not deserve the added stress. In addition, the technician decided she was an insurance agent and instead of providing the service she is paid for, attempted to insult my intelligence regarding insurance despite my having worked not only for the insurance company I pay for, but in medical billing as well. read more

I was in a car accident and was referred to have an MRI on my entire back. My health insurance wouldn't cover it so I went through my PIP. I called Chesapeake to ask how much the MRI would cost going through PIP and was quoted a price around $1800. What they actually charged to my PIP was $3350. Which completely finished my PIP and made it so I had to pay for continued treatment out of pocket. These people either lied about the price to me or made a mistake. Either way, i'm the one who is getting screwed in the end and they refuse to take responsibility. read more

I can't say enough about Chesapeake Medical Imaging. This was our first visit. The moment I informed the front desk staff that my daughter was ready to be seen, they called her almost immediately so that she wouldn't be uncomfortable. The staff was extremely compassionate, professional and efficient. They made my daughter feel re-assured that they will take care great of her, which they did. I've been to many medical imaging facilities, but this one, by far, has been the BEST EXPERIENCE. The Radiologist, Dr. Eva Duckett was amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable, calming and professional. The Ultra -Sonographer and the CT Scan Technician were gentle, quick and efficient. Came in with a referral from my Chiropractor. I called ahead and made an appointment. My Chiropractor believed I had disc injury on my L3, L4 and L5. Once I walked in the receptionists were very welcoming and pleasant. I had a seat and my Wife helped me fill out the paperwork due to the pain I was in. My wait was maybe 10-15 minutes if that. They called my name and ushered me into a changing room. The young lady who helped me to the room was very accommodating and seemed genuinely concerned. I've never had an MRI before so I chose this location due to them having an "Open MRI" machine. Once I shuffled over to the machine another young lady attempted to make me comfortable by offering a triangular type pillow to place under my knees. That did help somewhat. She then gave me earplugs due to the noise that the machine would emit. I was then moved underneath the cylinder styled MRI and could see all around me with exception of straight ahead. I didn't feel claustrophobic in the least. They said it would take 30 minutes. Unfortunately my back started aching as soon as the session began. I had to do some deep breathing just to get through the pain. The ladies operating the machine must've seen the pain in my face and began playing some Louie Armstrong on the speakers to calm me down (they actually let me know afterwards that that was the reason why they began the music). Right when I couldn't take the pain anymore from my back issue they were done. I thanked the technician for being so prompt. They led me out and sent the results to my Doctor within an hour. I highly recommend this establishment due to the caring individuals that work their and the "Open MRI" machine that helped me through that process. read more

Catonsville MD Location-can I rate NO STARS..I'm serious My Dr recommended this imaging center, but he was informed and vows to recommend again.I am an overly friendly person, when the radiology tech started asking me about metal hardware in my body, he was interrupting saying " we can't do your MRI" finally after he took a breath,stopped talking I explained I have been screened and documented that yes I can have MRI's. He was soooo rude,disrespectfull WOW!! I entered the changing room to remove my wire bra, he came in trying to apologize, I said "I am taking my bra off" he went out the door and slammed it. I limbed into MRI room, gave me some instructions, walked out the door SLAMMMM I am in Machine, I'm in pain I squeezed the stop ball 3 times, no response, after a while he said are you doing ok? NO I have been squeezing ball, he said ( I could not believe what he said) squeeze it again if you need me to stop..duh dude what cereal box did you get your license off of???? Never never go there!! While I was waiting for my CD, he said "your dr will get the results in 5-7 business days"" Hey JACHO shut this place down, oh as I am a healthcare worker I will file a complaint so they get a tag....Need I say anymore read more
