I have become frustrated with this office. Hard to see a Dr. Its months out. Even with a push from an oncologist office, seeing the RN was best they could do. Still more than 1 month out to see the Dr. Long ago when this was called Digestive Disorders Assoc. I canceled seeing Dr Epstein because, as I recall, had at least 2 maybe 3 onsite appt cancellations. Then started seeing DR Walov. We were in sync for many years. I saw nurse m on short order. Was to get a stool sample pkg. I forgot about it as I left, but they did not execute the procedure. ​ So at this juncture I will likely set up a second appt elsewhere to getba 2nd opinion by a Dr who a close friend highly recommended. Can not say deserving of 1 star yet but 3 stars are not desrving either read more

This office/practice is terrible with customer service. I was scheduled for a procedure and they cancelled me out of surgical center and told me I needed to go to the hospital center. Nobody ever called to reschedule my appointment. They don't answer their phones, you go to voice mail jail and leave a message .... and your call/message is never returned. Thumbs down! read more

I find the office staff rigid and unaccommodating. No telehealth visits, so my daughter drove from college, got stuck in traffic on her 1.5 hour trip, and the nurse practitioner would not wait 5 minutes past their 15 min grace period to see her. I was 1 hour into my drive to meet her there, so we both had to turn around and go home. We will be going elsewhere, this is not acceptable and I do not care to give them any more of my money. read more

I had a colonoscopy in October 2021 which is a fully covered procedure; however, this medical clinic works with anesthesiologists with Maryland Anesthesia Providers who apparently not only do not accept my insurance (United Healthcare - one of the big ones) I have been told that they don't accept any insurance. Rather than my colonoscopy being covered, as it should be, I am being balance billed by Maryland Anesthesia Providers for $1,400. Digestive Disorders Associates knows it and, it seems, doesn't care that they are contributing to these surprise billing crises for their patients. Be cautious, ask questions, and best of all, find a different provider for your colonoscopy. read more

I have been trying to find out what has specifically been wrong with my abdominal pain since March 2018. They have made me hit my deductible TWICE (over $4000 out of pocket) since I switched insurances halfway through. They are no closer to figuring out what is wrong with me. Additionally, the 3rd party whom they bill through is unreliable, and when you call to discuss something that is inaccurate on the bill, they try to convince you that it's YOUR fault until you work your way up 3 levels. Then it turns out to be something "simple" to fix it. Just go somewhere else. Your stomachaches turn into headaches really quickly here. read more

The staff is friendly, polite and has shown me nothing but great patience with often difficult subjects, and they are very knowledgeable about what their mission is when they talk with you. Dr. Epstein has been my doctor for more than 10 years now. I find him to be warm, compassionate, and a doctor who can make you feel totally comfortable with a sometimes funny but necessary diagnostic test we all have to go through eventually! His commitment to his continuing education ensures you will find him to be the best gastrointestinal physician in the area. His supporting staff that I've seen there for more routine issues also are remarkable. They come well prepared when I see them and are equally impressive in their practice. The staff at this practice, particularly billing, is extremely rude and uncaring when you call to discuss a bill. There are long wait times to be seen by a doctor. The only positive about this practice is that the doctors are very nice and patient with questions. The billing is a disaster. They bill separately and purposely try to make it complicated when you try to question it. They will mail you out a breakdown but it's for 3 separate companies under one. Don't go here. It's not worth the hassle with the incorrect billing issues you will have later. read more

My comment is based solely on the fact the doctor did not listen during my first visit. I saw Dr. Wolov after a recently trip to Caribbean Islands (3/14). My stomach issues began 4 days into my holiday. After explaining my symptoms in detail, I was told I had acid reflux--clearly that was not the problem. I asked if it was possible that I may have contracted a parasite or some odd bacteria doing my travels, he was adamant issue was acid reflux. After being put through many test (some unpleasant) then finding "absolutely" no signs of acid reflux, I know it was time to get a second opinion. By the time I saw a new GI doc, my stomach issue had grown worse. The first thing she did was order a breath test. This test is used to determine if someone has a condition called, Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth (SIBO). The came back positive for SIBO. If these issue was treating early the bacteria "possibly" would not have grown, and may have even been killed. SIBO can become debilitating, simply every day activities can be difficult to perform. Every day is a struggle dealing with the pain! In addition, SIBO can become harmful to the body. This is an ugly condition to have, AND it is extremely difficult too treat if not caught early on. I do believe, if the SIBO test was done immediately, I may not be suffering as badly. I think Dr. Wolov is a very nice guy. I wished he would have listen to me during my first, I believe together we could have attacked the SIBO early. Take control of your well-being feel comfortable in seeking a second opinion early on. read more

Just came back from my appointment which was scheduled at 10 a.m. and I was finally seen by the NP at 11 a.m. on the dot. Not only did she not even acknowledge or apologize for wasting an hour of my time, she answered her phone in the middle of my appointment after the super loud sci-fi ringer went off. Also, it was about 20 degrees in the office so I froze my ass off the whole time I waited. Besides all of that, I was seen for stomach issues (obviously) and there was no mention about what I should or shouldn't be eating until my problems are resolved. AND there was a thick layer of dust on some of the pictures and other things hanging in the patient room, plus some hair that was stuck to the baseboard. Gross! Hire a cleaning company if you can't do it yourselves. read more

Dr. Cukor and the nurses were fantastic & I would give them a 5 but the reason for the low score is the administration and billing. I had to have insurance clearance to get the procedure. As part of the procedure you have to have anesthesia. So it is part of the "package" and it is their package. They don't inform you that their anesthesiologists are sub-contractors who have dropped out of accepting insurance because it won't maintain their high salaries. So with no warning I receive a bill for $1,680. So I call and complain and they said they would give me a $600 deduction and all I had to do was pay $1,080. I informed them that my insurance said that nobody could charge more than the allowed $123.91 allowable by Medicare. They sent me another bill for $1,680. Finally they agreed with the law that said they could only charge the $123.91. They would have gladly taken the $1,600 illegally. If this isn't extortion it is certainly seems unethical. You can't convince me that their billing department doesn't know better. read more

After seeing 2 other GI doctors and my symptoms hadn't improved I was referred to Dr Cukor by a friend. He has changed my life! He listened to all my issues and concerns, he doesn't make you feel rushed or that you are not important. He's down to earth and easy to talk to! I recommend him to everyone!! I have been going here for 3 years, always had a positive experience until today. I waited for over an hour to see the doctor. I had my coat on & was leaving when he rushed into my exam room. It is so ironic that this practice has a posted policy about a late arrival charge and a $50 appointment cancellation fee, but it's perfectly OK for them to have no regard for the patient's time or schedule. Very disappointed in such poor customer service. read more

So I just had an appointment with Dr Cukor. Very nice guy relaxed and easy to talk to. I'm glad my appointment was based on the rec of a friend and I didn't look here first. Office was nice and clean and the staff were pleasant enough. The doctor was a bit late and rushed at first and apologized about it. There was some sort of emergency when I got there, which I overheard some of so i know they just weren't saying it. And this wait is the only reason they are a 5. He quickly gave me 100% of his attention and went over all the issues I was having, which are quite a few. He explained things another doctor failed to and he also explained what he could do for me and what he could not do. Would rec to a friend. read more

I've been seeing GIs since high school for my UC and in the last 17 years, this clinic has been my favorite! Dr. Krishna is kind and caring and listens to me during my appointments. She takes time to explain my medications and procedures, and I always leave feeling confident I'm getting the proper care. The office staff is pleasant and welcoming, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable. They are a busy practice, but as long as I schedule my follow-ups before I leave, I never have a problem getting an appointment. read more

Here I am again, waiting. Appointment was for 1:00. It is now 2:00. And, of course, there will be no apology from the doctor who will eventually appear. Last time I was here, blood tests could not be done because the "nurse had left". Now, I have come back to have the blood tests done, hopefully. Dr. Krishna came; no apology oc, plus she insisted she had never seen me before (until she read my chart). Now, it's been a week and I have called twice to get the results of my bloodwork. Finally got the results but no blood panel work was was done nor was it requested. This Dr. has no knowledge of my health history. read more

Love having Dr Wolov as my doctor. He always makes me feel comfortable and even speaks with me after hours to get an issue resolved. The wait time is usually pretty long there but it's worth it to see him. The office staff and nurses could use some training in being professional, they act like they just don't want to be there which can be a big turn off to people. I have been a patient of Dr. King's for about 5 years, and I only have positive things to say about him. I first met him when he was called in as a consultant when I was in the hospital. Unlike other inpatient consults I have had, he took his time with me. It was obvious that he had reviewed my chart first. I appreciated that, and I appreciated all of the time he spent with me answering my questions (and I had a lot). After my discharge I began seeing him in his office. I find the office staff friendly and helpful. There are times when the wait in hs office is long, but that is because sometimes a patient comes in with more complications than expected or more questions than anticipated. When this happens, Dr. King does not rush the appointment - he spends the time that is needed with that particular patient. I know this because I have been the patient that slowed everything up. I have also been the patient kept waiting, but I am understanding when this happens because in the future I could be in the other position again. I have a lot of trust in Dr. King - so much that I convinced my husband to switch from his previous gastroenterologist. read more

I wanted to like Dr. Wolov, I really did. But at a follow up visit from an upper endoscopy he was incredibly rude to me pointing to "stress" as the cause for my nausea and extreme bloating and gas after eating. He flat out told me I was anxious and was visibly irritated that I came in with questions from my own research. I also want to point out that I had to schedule this follow up for 2 weeks after the test because they were recommending 3 months. 3 months for follow up after a procedure?? After pushing for tests I learned that my gall bladder wasn't functioning properly via a HIDA and ultrasound revealed that I had sludge and polyps. He still said still, my symptoms were atypical for gall bladder problems. What the heck? The HIDA report said I had biliary dyskinesia, nausea after eating is most definitely a symptom of that! He then referred me to a surgeon that shares office space with him. The surgeon couldn't give me a straight answer either and continued with the "it's not typical gall bladder". I am beyond frustrated and will not be going back to either of them and am now back to square one to find someone with a legit answer. I felt like Wolov was just scooting me on to another doctor so he wouldn't have to deal with me anymore. Doctors too often forget that we are paying for their medical opinion and that they are partners with us to resolve discomfort and medical challenges. read more

I was skeptical when I got referred here based on these reviews, but my experience was overwhelmingly positive. I was scheduled with Dr. Wolov who was nothing but compassionate and attentive for over 30 minutes while I explained my symptoms and what I thought were my triggers. The office staff was pleasant, I was seen on time, and left feeling I was well on my way to finding lasting treatment. I will recommend Dr. Wolov to my friends! read more

If a loved one is experiencing a serious disorder, I urge you not to use this clinic. The doctor who saw my Mom was dispassionate, uncaring and never apologized for a serious scheduling mishap. When questioned about the error, the staff was equally rude and uncaring. Their incompetence ultimately led us to Johns Hopkins where the staff was nothing short of amazing. The Dr. my son sees is wonderful but trying to make an appointment with them sucks, I have tried on several different occasions to reschedule an appointment that they messed up. Today I was determined to get through and started calling continuously around 12:30 and finally got through at 2:07. I have better things to do with my tiime then spending an hour and a half to schedule an appointment. Yes I can leave a message but if I am busy when you call back and can not answer, I am back to step one. read more

The doctors here are great. My issue is with their procedure. I had an IV in my arm for nearly 90 minutes before I was sedated for my colonoscopy. Why don't you just put the plastic syringe in me when you're ready to knock me out? Why do I have to be uncomfortable for so long? Think about this guys, and stop doing this. read more

Dr. King is excellent and our family highly recommends him. We ended up with DDA and Dr. King after serious issues with another local practice and dr. My dad has dysphagia and is unable to swallow safely so he has a peg tube. He had issues with it which led us to seeing a dr at another practice whose only answer to very basic questions including whether a red, heated & seeping area was infected or whether we should worry about liquid coming out around the tube was "I don't know." He ended up very weak and ill and in the hospital & as fate had it on surgery day to replace the tube with a new one we would have had the incompetent dr from the other practice. We refused the surgery and would not let the other doctor from the other practice near our dad again even for a consult. Our other option was to switch his care to DDA and have Dr. King treat him. My sister (a nurse) and I were hesitant after the last experience and did our research before deciding to switch practices rather than wait for a different doctor at the original practice to be available. We consider ourselves very lucky to have ended up with Dr. King and his practice. My sister and I are exceptionally overprotective and have high expectations and have had nothing but a great experience with Dr. King. He and his office are very responsive and proactive to potential problems when thy arise. We had to call the on call dr on a Saturday and on Monday morning we had a call from their office well before 9am hit for me to be able to call. After such a horrible experience by every measure with the other practice it is a great relief to us to have Dr. King caring for our dad on the GI front. Wait times can be a little long at times but the Dr. and his staff are sensitive to it and apologetic when it does happen and it is not frequent. The trade off is you get a doctor who is knowledgeable, thorough, responsive and cares- all traits that are increasingly difficult to find in one Dr. and certainly worth the occasional wait. We are convinced my dad would not be here with us today had we let that other dr. operate and are grateful to Dr. King and DDA for helping us to keep him healthy! read more

Dr. Krishna is a god send. Over the last fifteen years I've been through the "medical mill" of specialists all trying to discern whether my multiple health issues are of one derivation or many. This includes multiple specialists from similar medical practices, neurology, gastro, orthopedic, rheumatology, e.n.t., etc.. I now consider myself capable of judging who's really doing their job, who is just going through the motions, who just likes to hear their own voice & expound upon their knowledge and who really doesn't wish to be there. In regards to Dr. Krishna, she's a listener, a believer in your health complaints and a physician that follows through with testing, records & research to start you on your way to better health and to staying on that path. I highly recommend a visit to Dr. Krishna if you need to see a Gastroenterolost! read more

My family would never recommend this practice, especially Charles King, M.D. The staff is rude, and communication is poor. Dr King is dismissive, and is only present for a few minutes at the end of a visit after the patient first sees an assistant, then is "treated" by a nurse practitioner. He had a family member do numerous tests and labs for months, with no firm diagnosis, but prescribed lots of medication (55 pills per day), even when the lab tests were negative. He is impatient and dismissive with any questions. After much frustration, a different doctor at another facility found a solution on the first visit, medications stopped, and healing finally began. Like the previous post my Doctor was unconcerned and short with me when I asked questions and wanted to talk more. I believe his words were "your fine", which led me to find another Doctor who spent time to find I wasn't so fine. I would not recommend this practice; the front office staff is rude and unhelpful. They did not provide care for me, they just completed a procedure. read more
