We typically would do their Christmas Train, and rarely got back to Lancaster in the warmer months. As soon as I planned my latest summer trip, I knew it had to be on the itinerary. This place has it all from gigantic slides to gold mining sluice areas to a mini kids village that mine couldn't get enough of from the mini vet office to the drive in theater. It was really impressive. From here, you can make your way up the hill where there is a restaurant, a coffee kiosk with a delicious coconut water cold brew (wild!), and plenty of shaded sections with swinging chairs. You'll find paintball, basketball, skee ball, a pedal cart for the family, launching devices. I mean, there is a lot! The place is large so it never felt overly crowded. Come with water bottles. Even with the shaded sections it gets hot. They have water fountains by the bathrooms.

Don't feel pressure to purchase the add ones (apple chucking and paintball) - those sections are towards the back of the farm and easily avoidable. There was a variety of food options - a few standard theme park options along with specialty options like homemade ice cream.

Today I was there for "farm day " which was a chance to view the animals on a beautiful fall day and shop at vendors lined up along the path. These vendors seemed to be picked for their close to nature wares which included natural soap and scrubs, the lady Who Made cork handbags, A man and woman who made beer bottle openers out of half horseshoes, and the lady who made homemade dog treats. I was thrilled to purchase 2 handmade items from Annabelle's Wish stand. Annabelle's Wish helps children and family struggling with rare neurological disorders. There was a long line for ice cream, but it moved quickly, so the wait wasn't bad at all. You can't see the ice cream behind the counter, so you have to go by the menu board (and samples). I tried the cookies and cream, chocolate, and chocolate with peanut butter cups -- all were incredibly creamy and full of flavor. It's 10x better than anything store-bought! There's also plenty of seating both inside and out on the porch, which made it easy to sit back and enjoy the treat. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors!

Located about 40-45 minutes away from the city, the farm is easy to find (just type in the address on their website). The entry fee is very reasonable at $5 per car, and they also sell some food (i.e. chips, drinks, baked goods, pulled pork sandwiches) as well as sunflowers up front. Food wasn't particularly memorable but not bad, and the sunflowers were quite the deal (only $1 per stem, or 6 for $5). The actual sunflower field was reasonably sized. It was a bit difficult to navigate through the mud, and also a little hard to get good photos unless you go off the trail and into the flower beds (which you're not supposed to do), but the sunflowers were still pretty. Overall very glad I visited. Not sure if I'd necessarily make the trip out again anytime soon, but I definitely recommend it if you have not gone before!

Of course, each alpaca has its own personality. Just like people.. LOL.... My bf's alpaca "St. Nick" (who was born on Christmas) had the sweetest disposition. My alpaca "Wally "had its moments". Wally wanted to stop a lot and just graze. After we finished tour, everyone went over to a table where handwashing implements were available. We did the standard farm tour that includes a 5 minute wagon ride, where kids can drive! And then you go to the farm. On this last trip, there was a little confusion on the tour portion. I think they didn't realize our whole group was waiting. I ended up going up and found someone who managed to find one of the Amish women to give us a tour. On the tour, you'll see baby animals, feed the horses, bottle feed a calf, see baby chicks, and pigs. Then at the end, you can reach under chickens and pull out eggs from the nest. My kids could have stayed here all day. They also have a playground on site, tricycles, and a little shop where you can buy dairy products. Definitely worth a stop here!
