For a reasonable price, there were two food trucks (cheesesteaks, meatball sandwiches, hot roast pork, chicken nuggets, fries, etc), cupcakes, jars of locally made apple butter and honey, plus fundraiser table with caramel sauced apple slices. I was SO impressed with the volunteers. They were all very professional and polite. It was all teens hosting the kids' games, and they were amazing kids; all cheerful, competent, proactive individuals working to make a very fun experience for those younger. Everything ran super smoothly. They had ample volunteers at every post, but they weren't talking to one another or on their phones, they were present and willing/looking to help. I can tell Fox Chase is very experienced with these events because there was a process for each activity, lines were plotted with ropes or signs, everything was well-placed and well-spaced. Volunteers were apprised of every detail for their job, and super well informed. It was just extremely diligently planned. They even had parking at various local lots, and a school but shuttle to get you to/from the farm, all free. Even the police crossing guards at the entrance were plentiful and right on top of their tasks. In addition to having a blast with my kid, I also enjoyed the community. There was so much diversity at this event, I loved it! I heard so many different languages and saw all types of people. It was so fun to join in with such a melting pot of Philly Area peeps. Even the animals were chill and content, and super gentle with and trusting of the kids feeding and patting them. It was a great time! My only suggestions would be for the event to be longer (it was 12-4pm), and for more fall apple offerings, like apple fritters, candy apples, cider donuts, pumpkin bread, caramel popcorn, etc. If the fundraiser table sold those items it would be amazing! Also if there were a table selling apple and pumpkin pies on the way out, I can see them making a mint. People were so reluctant to leave, and wanting to spend money and take things home.

The founder is a warm, lovely person who has worked very hard to create experiences that are appropriate for people of all ages & abilities. The outdoor portion of the visit includes experiences that are visual, aural, olfactory, tactile, & even edible. They are set up for people with a variety of mobility. The indoor facility was beautiful & engaging, with separate rooms for active playing, light & sound sensory experiences, and even a meditation room. I went twice in 2 weeks, with different children & adults who had some similar but also some different favorites. I will be back. This is a very, very special place. We're so lucky to have it here in Bucks County. Every community should have a Friends of Fox Chase Farm.

The food is phenomenal for being festival food (but then again I love Polish food). For fair prices you can get potato pancakes, pierogies and imported beer. They have musicians and dancing for entertainment, though I suggest if you're interested in that kind of thing going later on, since that's when the bulk of it happens. So disappointed in the immature behavior of the staff this week. I was called a "Hovering Mother"…read moreand my child heard these words at camp as well. It hurt her feelings and mine too. So sad that name calling comes from a so called "Christian Camp". Those who know me personally would describe me as a sometimes absentee mother, but hovering would never be part of the description - you know I'm the one who doesn't check homework or monitor media real well. We live 5 minutes down the road from camp and we experienced our first heat wave of the summer. My daughter has asthma and was in a cabin with no air conditioning and very poor ventilation. I contemplated brining her a fan, but then decided, "nah she'll be fine." I called the next day (1 time) to check on her as she was on the top bunk and it didn't cool down to mid 85 degrees until 3am. Again, I called ONE time. I also had to pick her up for an Orthodontist appointment mid-week b/c we booked camp last minute (my husband lost his job and we weren't sure we could afford it) ...I couldn't reschedule the appointment (she wouldn't get in for another 6 weeks). Living only 5 minutes away this seemed like a reasonable solution. Apparently I inconvenienced someone by this hovering behavior (obviously they've never tried scheduling doctors appointments around a busy tweens schedule especially when the doctor is only in the office twice a month). I also mentioned to the counselor that in lieu of a care package, since we live local, I could drop off some water ice for the whole cabin to enjoy. What a nice and generous gesture that was again misconstrued as hovering. I was told the next day they would be away from camp. I later found out that was a lie and the kids told me they just didn't want the other cabins to be upset. Sure I get it, just say the truth (I probably would have hovered to bring enough for all of Hill Top). I didn't question the rejection, no big deal. So when my daughter was at her appointment she told me she ran out of undergarments (oops), she packed her own luggage (you know all hovering parents DON"T check their child's luggage to make sure they have everything). She wanted me to bring her some undergarments, I said I would drop some off that night. Well I forgot (not really I just din't feel like driving over again), because you know I'm a hovering parent. I dropped off the underclothes the next day. Sorry my bad, guess I was hovering again (I drive by the camp on the way to store almost everyday). You people have NO CLUE. Shame on you for bashing a parent for loving their kid. I'm telling all the locals to find a better place. You won't have to hear the sound of my propellors anymore.

The space itself is clean, safe, and thoughtfully set up, gated play areas so little ones can't wander off, tons of floor space for the kids to play, and comfortable seating for parents. I actually got to sit down, enjoy some free coffee, and relax while watching my kids play, which as a mom, means everything. They have both indoor and outdoor play areas (just a heads up, the outdoor space closes from 11 AM-12 PM for the daycare group, but it's open right before and after), so there's something to do rain or shine. We did it last year and plan to do it again - it was SO much fun! We were looking for something active to do (it's a 90-minute walk) but not go dancing, for a Girls' Night. This was perfect. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave good stories and really set it up for us to have a good time. Plus we probably learned stuff too! We met down on Bridge street. The walk was not too hard but not really for someone who can't walk a good bit. They let children go, but I think the one we were on was too spooky for kids. I think they make it less scary if there are kids in the group. We DID call in advance, which they recommend and we were glad we did, b/c there were people there hoping to get in on the tour. But because we had reservations, they took us and gave them spots for the next night. They keep the groups small, which I appreciate. I went on a ghost tour in Savannah and the group was so big, we could never hear the guide. Some of the people came from surrounding areas, not just Phoenixville: Valley Forge, Downingtown, West Chester, King of Prussia. They said it was something different to do. Which I agree - it's hard to find something great to do besides just restaurants & clubs! This was fun!

Nobody pops out at you. No one hiding in costume along the trail. Flashlights and cameras aren't required, but it's fun to try to capture orbs or manifestations on camera. I was born in Phoenixville and did not know some of the history explained on the tour. I was glad I chose to participate, however, this is not a gut wrenching haunted attraction at all.
