Very happy! Our…read morewell pump failed at around 6pm on a Tuesday evening. After making a few fruitless calls I called Wilson's and Robert answered the phone straightaway. (No Asian answering service.) Robert said that he'd have JR stop by first thing the next morning. JR arrived right on time and pulled our pump up from 200' and found that it was clogged with silt and had locked up rendering it unusable. This was caused by a leaky well head fitting allowing silt to wash back down the well casing, which JR had already diagnosed upon arrival. Nontrivial to replace. So, after a lot of digging to get four feet down to the fitting, and then some difficult repair work, everything was set right, and we were good to go. Many thanks to JR for a very professional job.

Turn water on to do dishes and...nothing. check the pressure gauge on the well. 5 psi! (Normally 30 or 60). I call my normal plumber and he's slammed, recommends Wilson's. I call at 10 30, they had someone out by 1 30! After some troubleshooting, they find out our check valve is bad and replace it. Total cost- 325 to pull the pump and replace the valve. A little high, but considering it was an emergency job and I had water again, I'll gladly pay it. Only reason for 4 stars is the roughness of the tech. Super friendly, but he did basically call me stupid a couple of times for not knowing the ins and outs of wells and pumps as much as he did. I like to ask questions to get a sense of what is going on. Apparently some were so basic he felt the need to mock me. He also made fun of an entire nationality of people. Like I said, a little rough around the edges... Next time i have well issues, Wilson's will be my 1st call.

My wife and I have a 100+ year-old Baltimore row house that we bought in 2022 because we loved the…read morebrick wall and historic charm of the place, but we were having all kinds of issues with the floor and other parts of the home. We paid someone to replace the floor in 2022, but after a year, the LVP started peeling. They wouldn't stand by their work and instead offered to charge us for something they should've fixed at the time. Matthew from ACE Plumbing looked at the floor, identified the problem, and pointed out other (now obvious) issues leading that were leading to the feeling that the home was kinda falling apart. We initially asked for just the floor to be fixed, and other contractors only quoted us for the band aid solutions we thought we needed. However, Matt dug deeper and discovered rot in the siding, a leaking roof, and deteriorating walls, among other challenges. We chose Matt and ACE Plumbing over four other contractors because he was communicative, always available to answer questions, and proactive in giving advice that would save us trouble in the long run. Since we don't live in the home, Matt and his crew kept us up to date with photos and phone calls. As issues came up, he informed us of the process needed to resolve them. Throughout the entire process, we felt we were in the hands of professionals. Matt was able to describe the problems with our beautiful but old house, outline our options for a fix, and provide a timeline that worked for us. Another benefit was that Matt didn't just contract out the work we paid him good money for. He was on-site, getting dirty with his crew and taking videos to answer our questions. This well company drilled my well about 4 years ago. During the summer of last year, (3 years after…read moreinstall) I noticed that there was a LOT of water accumulating about 15 feet downhill from the well. It continued down the incline and flooded my driveway made of millings causing quite a bit of damage, so I decided to dig a French drain system. I hand-dug around the well, about a foot down I could see water bubbling out whenever the well pump cycled. Shutting off the electric, I dug down to find the metal coupling/reducer that comes out of the well column and connects to the pipe that feeds the pressure tank in the house. Turning the electric back on and running the water, I could see water shooting from this connector. A LOT of water. So it became obvious why the yard and driveway were constantly flooded into a marsh like state. Called Smyrna well and explained the situation. He said he would come out two days later in the morning. When I called after he didn't show he said that they blew a hose on their digger and he needed to fix it. Long story short, I was blown off at least six times for various reasons and he would never show up as promised, nor call to explain why he didn't show and try to reschedule. I always had to chase him and try to get him to come out. I decided to hire a plumber that came on high recommendation. He was able to determine the problem just by looking at the part with the hole and the part exiting the well it was connected to. The part coming from the well was made of brass. The connecting part with the hole was made from galvanized steel. (see photo of part with hole caused by electrolysis) He said that a very basic rule in plumbing is to not connect two pieces of dissimilar metal as they will create a condition known as electrolysis which will eventually eat through the metal and cause a leak or total failure. Seems that galvanized was cheaper, so no thought was given to the headache it would cause the homeowner later. Very little consideration given to doing the job correctly, and even less to providing any form of after support. I gave the well company owner over a month to come by and fix this issue, and he never showed nor called to let me know the status of when he could come. After a month, I got tired of waiting and called a professional. If I ever have to drill a well again, I will use a company that knows not to use dissimilar metals and will guarantee and fix the work they performed. Disappointed isn't a strong enough word for what I'm feeling about this situation.
