I've been a patient of the practice for several years and see Crystal Smith. She is absolutely fantastic! I asked her once how she remembered details like what my partner's name is, especially since I go once a year. She replied that she takes little notes and reads them before she sees her patient. Appointments procedure fast and efficient. Appointments always on time and staff very professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

I have definitely had better OBGYNs. If I had known had to pay $40 specialist visit for IUD follow up I wouldn't have kept the appt.

Please save yourself the heartache from dealing with this mess of an office.. 1. Left message for triage nurse. Nurse calls back, when I AM WORKING, and leaves a message. Nurse seems to be confused why I wouldn't answer or she can't get reach me. There is not a call back number and I am on hold for 5 min plus, trying to be connected to someone, when I call back. I do not have the time to keep waiting for someone to pick up. When we finally do connect... I am greeted with an "Oh wow...we are actually talking...". Why do I have to remind a professional to be professional and not act sarcastic and rude? Simple solution: Have a call back number. Tell me times your are available to talk. Nobody has any time for this. 2. Had a diagnosis that the provider just FORGOT to tell me until a YEAR later at my next appointment! Maybe not a big deal to them, but sorry I would have liked to have been informed???!!!! 3. While at the appointment, the provider starts reading information from my sister's in-law's file... TO ME????!!! Very disappointed with the lack of respect and professional courtesy. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out. I will not be continuing business with this practice. read more

Do not waste your time on trying to become a new patient. I can't speak for the doctors because I didn't even get past reception for my first appointment. Misinformed staff that is totally okay with lying to cover it up. When trying to explain and get the situation figured out (so I could have my appointment without paying nearly $200 out of pocket when I am fully insured) I was rudely told "We don't do that. We don't do that." I just moved to Annapolis and needed an appointment ASAP, but a reception desk not willing to work with new patients when they were told two different things by the staff, I am opting to find a new office. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I wasn't able to get into a doctor for My annual so I saw Angela Price, an NP. I just needed a check up and to update my prescriptions. I generally have higher blood Pressure when at these particular appointments because I'm anxious for it to be over. But I exercise 5 Days a week and only Have blood Pressure Problems at the doctor.The appointment was about 5 mins she said everything is fine but then, ohh your BP Is high I can't give you your prescription. She doesn't talk about options just you can't have it. Instead of taking 5 minutes to make me feel Comfortable and talk About some other options and then retry. They retry my Bp right away and in the same arm, So of course it isn't lower. I'm again told I can't have this particular prescription and if I would like To discuss other Options I would have to make another appointment in future. I will not be returning to this practice. I felt like I was an inconvenience and wasn't worth the 5 minutes to talk about my options and make me feel comfortable enough to Relax a little. read more

I love this office!!!!!!! Physicians, nurses and phlebotomists are knowledgeable, friendly, and very warm to talk to too. The only doctor you should watch out for is Nicole Luecke. Her bedside manner is horrible. read more

Dr Wells has just been amazing. From the day I first met her I felt like I was talking to one of my friends. She listens, she treats you like a human, and genuinely cares about your health, emotional and physical. She is usually pretty booked so you have to wait to get in, but it's worth the wait every time! read more

I'm not sure what happened to this practice because it used to be great! But in a word now I'd describe them as "MIA". They do not answer their phones- for appointments- for follow ups on cultures- ? I managed to get an appt a few months ago for a concern I had, gave a urine sample and they were to send a culture to lab. I was told I'd hear results of culture in 3-5 days. 14 Days later after many attempts to reach them at both of their offices and leaving several messages I still heard nothing so I drove to their office to find the young receptionist at her desk with no one else in the waiting area and not on the phone so I'm not sure why she could not just answer my call prior to me driving there!!??... but she told me the NP had been away and that's why I didn't get the results- she said she's back now and she will have her call me. I said I'll just wait for her here in person since no one calls or answers phones here. The NP came out and gave me the results & apologized for being away. I don't understand why someone else couldn't have made that phone call. Since then I've called for a referral and again no answer- either location.. I'll be moving on sadly. I don't feel like they give quality care anymore! read more

Ok, if you can get anybody to answer the phone. The Positive: I like Dr. Russell, Dr. Wells, Dr. Penn, and Dr. Luecke very much. All are caring and concerned and each has a wonderful bedside manner. Have had good experiences at the Gambrills office. The Negative: The Annapolis office. Their phones are forwarded to an answering service from 11:30 to 1:30 every day and their hours are 8 to 4 Mon-Thu and 8 to 3 on Fridays. I just called at 3:45 (on a Monday) to switch an appt. time and was put on hold (never spoke to an actual person) for 15 minutes, then dumped into an "appointment voice mail box". I hung up and called right back and wouldn't ya know it, now the office is closed. It is difficult to get an appt, difficult to get lab results. I have dealt with confusion on their end numerous times. Have even paged the Dr. On Call during an emergency and the Dr. never called me back! I think the bottom line is that this practice has some excellent doctors. But dealing with the office staff, nurses, and phone issues makes it tough. Maybe they are accepting too many patients and just having trouble with the patient load. read more

The doctors I have seen do not care about the mother at all! They will advise care or medicine only if it soley affects the baby. So; intense morning sickness they will tell you to go to you're primary care or gastroenterologist. Need prenatal vitamins, go to your primary care. Need thyroid medication adjustments or monitoring go to your primary care (even though thyroid medication is extremely important for the baby's development) go to your primary care. If you have an emergency and get rushed to the ER the Doctor I saw didn't even question the nature of the visit or how it affected me or the baby. The double visits to the doctor, going to this OB then my primary care, was exhausting, time consuming, and frustrating, and a lot of money. Double blood tests and urine tests, because somehow they couldn't give my PCP my results but were having her take on the responsibility of the OB's care. I have never been shuffled around the medical system as much as I have with this facility. As soon as I changed OB I immediately got nausea medicine, as I've found out from my ER visit I have gallstones due to my pregnancy, and a new prenatal vitamin. No, having to go back and forth to my PCP and OB. I will never go back to this facility or recommend it to anyone ever. read more

I was excited to see Dr. Luecke thinking that she would be able to help me with my issues. I brought all of my research that I though would be beneficial in meeting with her for my first time. She was completely belittling and rude. She said that any hormone replacement I took was going to give me cancer and I just had to face the facts. She said that she was not going to do a bunch of blood tests on me when she did not intend on fixing any issues that showed on the test. I was balling crying by the end. Please do not subject yourself to this unprofessional, ignorant woman! read more

The customer service is terrible here. The doctors are decent except Dr. Prichup (he is not great). I went to an appointment and waited for 1.5 hours to even get in a room than after my baby doesn't have a heartbeat, I go to schedule a D&C and as the receptionist is scheduling it she says congratulations. She has all the paperwork in front of her and is scheduling a miscarriage. That is not a congrats. I called to make an appointment and was told by Alicia that she would call by the end of the day but did not. Than I called back and talked to a Kia. She gave me an appointment than calls me back 5 minutes later saying she doesn't have that appointment and gives me an option that would be very difficult for me and with the only doctor in the practice I don't like. She says that is the only option. They have horrible customer service and despite having good doctors, I am considering leaving the practice because of how I am treated. read more

I am extremely unhappy with the care or lack there of from Doctor Wells last night. After experiencing contractions that were strong and close together for well over an hour my husband called the hospital on my behalf. I was not really in a condition to talk and he has full permission on file to speak to the doctor's for me if needed. Doctor Wells ignored this and refused to allow the call to continue with him. So I had to speak to the doctor while in a lot of pain and she recommended I come in so SHE could examine me. At the hospital Doctor Wells was MIA. From somewhere on that floor she determined I was having a false alarm. She was available to sign the papers to get rid of me but not available to see me in person. Funny how she demanded to speak to me personally on the phone but could not bother to walk the 3 feet from the nurse's station to the room I was left alone in for an hour or more. Before kicking me out after a very terrible evening of being in pain and not knowing for sure if I was in labor or not, Doctor Wells was kind enough to pawn my exam off on a nurse with large hands who caused a lot of pain and bleeding the rest of the night. This is my third baby. Some women are lucky enough to know for sure that labor has begun. With my first it was abundantly clear. With my second I was admitted to the hospital and still not feeling clear contractions. Obviously it is not always clear. With number three I was not sure last night but thought it best to seek the care of a medical professional. Unfortunately Doctor Wells is just not a caring doctor. There are caring kind doctors at this practice but I have to base my review on the situation I was placed in. I did not have the choice to request another doctor. Doctor Wells decided for me that I would not recieve any care from a doctor at all. This morning I am still in pain and bleeding from my rough exam thanks to Doctor Wells recommending I come in so she can examine me but then refusing me that care. read more

Dr.Herman was great my exam was fine but this office had the worst communication ever! They take FOREVER to get back to you on your results

Love this office for gynos/Ob's. Started here when I got pregnant with my son, they had to squeeze me in as a new pt and it was a couple weeks before my first appt, but after that they just suggested making my next appt before I left the office, since you get seen so often while pregnant. So when I did that I was always able to get a day/time that was beneficial to me. I also have to say their phone triage service is run well. I had to call a couple times while pregnant and if I didn't speak with the RN right away they called me back within an hour and gave me good advice, and then if it's something the doc needs to see they get you in for a same day appt. I've never been to a doctors office so smoothly run. While preg I saw all the doctors on staff they suggested this as I never would have known who would be on call when I delivered and then at least I could see a some-what familiar face(even if I only saw that doc once while i was pregnant) it was great though so I got to meet many of them, My fav's are Dr. Keith, as well as Dr Luecke (who's my primary b/c shes one of the practice owners though harder to get an appt with because shes so popular) and Dr Wells. I can't even remember some of the other doctors names but they all were professional, gentle and nice. A must with pregnancy hormones! haha. Dr Kieth is the best. she is from mississipi and has this awesome southern-gal soothing voice and she delivered my son and it went great. I didn't have time to get an epidural so I was in alot of pain but she was so gentle and kind even though I was screaming in pain.. I apologized later for being so loud. lol... Also done follow up/annual GYN appts and didn't have any prob getting in for a yearly appt. and I love they have an office in A=polis and Gambrills, since I moved and Annapolis is easier to get to. Also the billing dept is great, they answered all my calls when I had some insurance questions and even called me back a few times after the fact to confirm my questions were answered and everything was straight, which is wayy above and beyond!! read more

I was having issues and tried to make an "sick" appointment as a new patient. The earliest they could see me was 4 weeks later. Good thing it was nothing serious. I did like Crystal so I decided to make my annual appointment with her - again had to wait 6 weeks. The woman who I spoke with on the phone wasn't rude but wasn't nice either. She made it seem like I was interrupting her some how. Then when I go to the appointment - they have no record of me making it! They have a record of me cancelling an appointment at their Annapolis location but nothing else. The receptionist says she asked Crystal if she could squeeze me in but she was double booked all day. Why is she double booked all day? Is it because other appointments were lost? Very unprofessional, incompetent office staff. read more

Dr Wells is hands down AMAZING. Kindest soul there is! Unfortunately, some of their staff is rude, inconsiderate, and cold. 1) Denise, the triage nurse, is quite a pill. Not every cramp/bleeding issue during pregnancy can be fixed by drinking water or pooping.... 2) the PCT that take your blood pressure and weight are RUDE! I'm sorry that taking my blood pressure and weight is monopolizing too much of your shoe shopping time. 3) you may as well call your PCP for anything other than you going into labor. I was having bloody discharge and cramping while pregnant and was told to go to my PCP.... really? 4) CLAUDIA IN THE BILLING DEPARTMENT IS THE RUDEST. She does not understand, practice, or follow mandated insurance regulations. When I questioned her allocation of our funds , i was berated and yelled at and then eventually hung up on. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE LADY! 5) During delivery, the nurse told me to HOLD THE BABY IN SO THEY COULD WAKE UP THE DOCTOR. It's a lot easier said than done.... 6) hope you like waiting because that's what you do here. Wait for 20 minutes on the phone to schedule an appointment. Wait for weeks/months to get seen. Wait for 45 minutes past your appointment time to be seen. Need a docs note? Wait 2 weeks and pay 15 dollars for a note that isn't even correct because their documentation is shotty. I've delivered 2 babies with this practice and won't be there for the third. read more

I haven't had a single complaint about this practice. The doctor takes his time to explain and answer my questions. He calls promptly when I need some clarification on a prescription. They are patient when I have to bring my 2 year old. Altogether, I would highly suggest them. I plan on sticking around for pregnancy #2 in the future. read more

The wait times and staff here are fine, but keep an eye on your billing statements. They ran a host of labwork without my consent (STI testing, which was not needed in my case, and I would not have consented to had I been asked.) When I contacted billing about it, I was told to make an appointment if I wanted to discuss my labwork, and then hung up on. What I thought was going to be a simple checkup ended up costing me several hundred dollars. I'll go somewhere else next time. read more

I just spoke to the worst most unprofessional and unhelpful employee! I was put on medication for severe depression after birth of my daughter. It's a low amount but when I run out it REALLY messes with your head. I called the prescription refill line and left a message with all my details. Waited 2 days and they never refilled. I've been 3 days without meds and starting to feel crazy! Left a second message nothing. Finally called and pressed 1 for emergency. A lady answered and was so incredibly rude I'm just sitting here crying! She told me it's not an emergency and don't care if your feeling suicidal! She said I will let the prescription group know you called. She said they passed it on to your doctor and she "may" call you after seeing patients. I was like what are my next steps if she doesn't call. She said "start looking for a primary care doctor I don't know what to tell you.!" I said can I drive to the office and she said "that's not going to guarantee anything but do what you want." I'm sitting here crying and just need a refill on medication already feeling like crap and this was the worst most heartless interaction I have had with anyone in my life!! This lady gives this provider and all healthcare workers a bad name!!! read more

I've been a patient with them for a year now and they are truly wonderful. I've met all of the doctors and I have my favorites but all of them are great. All of my appointments were easy to make and they weren't terribly long. I recently had my first child this February and Dr. Keith was my delivery doctor. It was a very long labor but I have no complaints or regrets about using Chesapeake Women's Care. Dr. Keith is very calming and encouraging. Dr. Penn did my son's circumcision. He was very caring and answered all of my family's questions. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for an OBGYN!! read more

It saddens me to report that since NP Kay Seuss retired, I have found these visits to be less about my gyn health and more about NP Angela Price's social issues. I will probably continue to visit this practice, but I will find a different provider in this practice. Angela Price spent more time discussing signs of spousal abuse even after I noted on my pre-appointment paperwork that I have not experienced any abuse, physical, mental, financial etc from my husband EVER! Why is it so hard for some health professionals to believe that some of their patients actually have delightful healthy marriages. My "NO" answers apparently weren't clear enough as I then had to listen to her discuss, before my exam, the various types of abuse and to be on the look out for them in others. Keep in mind that this presentation was oral and yet at the same time she was asking me to read the paper she was holding. I can't listen to her and read the document at the same time, so neither one received my undivided attention. Really, what I was thinking was, I'm her for my annual gyn exam. Could we get to that? The breast exam took her all of a minute, if that. I am comparing this to the breast exams NP Kay Seuss conducted and they were much more thorough and lenghty. NP Angela Price never asked about any changes in my medical history because she is more concerned about signs of abuse. I had 2 sisters diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020, but Angela Price doesn't have that documented in my medical records because she failed to ask that important question. However, she can document that I listened to her discuss her hot button on spousal/relational abuse. Also, if I knew someone who was being abused, my first thought would not be to contact NP, Angela Price. I would talk to my pastor, friends or relatives of the abused. I don't even mind that they ask these questions, but it can be offensive when that is your priority and not the patient's gynecological health and exam. read more

If I can give a zero star I will. I almost died in the hands of Dr, Samosa and Shusha. I do have the courage to talk now after almost 2 yrs. Where do I begin, I had a healthy pregnancy not because I was given any guidance but because I read and educated myself on what to eat. On my day of delivery, I went 2 days past my delivery date, I spotted alittle and when I got to Arundel Medical center, Dr Samosa put me on a monitor follow by drips and the next thing inducing me to give birth. I wasn't cramping. Her shift ended and Dr Shusha took over. Obviously, I wasn't dilating and it progressed to C-section. After the C-section during recovery, a nurse tech discovered the incision wasn't probably closed. Dr Shusha was notified and he wore an ordinary not surgical gloves to closed the incision. There was where my problem began. I never recovered as I kept having fever and chills from the hospital till I was discharged. I wasn't given any antibiotic to take home but prescription for oxycodone only. The chills continued and I had to go to the ER once in which I was discharged with more oxycodone. My fever worsened ad I called the office in which they send me to do an ultrasound. I was told later by Dr Shush that the ultrasound was wrong but it should've been a CT scan instead. A week after that I went to use the bathroom and puss was oozing out of the incision. I went to Arundel medical center ER, spent 10days in the women surgical ward away from my newborn. Dr Penn had to take over the case. The incision, was made on my pelvic during the C-section by Dr Shusha instead of my bikini line. To date, I have the biggest most disgusting scare like a lump sitting on my pelvic. read more

This is a really crazy thing to review, but for women this type of doctor is just as important as your favorite hairdresser. This office is full of friendly people that make you feel at home, not awkward. I like Dr. Herman, myself, but in a pinch I did see someone else (about 2 years ago, so I don't remember her name) and still felt comfortable. I like that I can go to the Gambrills office where before 2004 I had to visit the Annapolis office. Its good to have a choice. Anyway, Dr. Herman is honest and up front. I normally do not write negative reviews but all of the positive reviews for this practice was the reason I originally went to this practice. As a GYN patient it was fine. Nothing special and you do feel like just a number. The wait is always long to see the doctor, which I do understand things come up with pregnant patients so it didn't really bother me. Once I became pregnant this office was terrible!!! I had severe back pain from a herniated disk and was completely unable to walk. When I called the office they didn't even want to see me. It took two hours for them to call me back and they said sorry we can't help you but it really sounds like you need to see a doctor. That's who I thought I was calling?? This practice will send you anywhere else so they do not have to deal with a problem. I had an appointment coming up so I suffered until then. Once I was at my appointment, wheelchair and all, the doctor said sorry I will not help you. I'm not doing anything for you and this is just part of being pregnant. She was EXTREMELY rude and condescending. She told me to go to a neurologist or primary care doctor. FYI neurologist will not see pregnant patients. Primary, urgent care etc will all tell you to see your OB. Thank God I found a new OB practice that was willing to help me. I am thankful I left this office every day. Probably fine if you have a pregnancy with no issues what so ever but if you have a problem this office will not help you. read more

I've seen various doctors over the years and have never met one quite like her. She made me feel comfortable right away. I never feel rushed when I interact with Dr. Somoza. She takes her time with me and makes me feel like I'm her only patient. She's the best doctor I've ever met. She's very knowledgeable but doesn't have even a hint of ego. I will begin this review by saying I am a health care provider. This was by far one of the most negligent and unprofessional offices I have ever encountered. I have suffered recurrent pregnancy loss. They have been down right insensitive and cruel. They have lost my labs, sent bloodwork drawn in their office out with my name spelled wrong. They have seen me for a miscarriage then called 3 days later advising me I missed the ultrasound appointment for the infant I had just lost. They have asked "so when are you due" when I am there for miscarriage follow up because they "forgot". The clinical staff is less than desirable, dressed sloppily with pink hair. The doctors have no bedside manner and stare at the computer typing while telling me my child is dead. They have no empathy. I wish I knew when I moved to MD and never given this office a chance. They should be ashamed of themselves. Anne Arundel should be ashamed to be assosciated with this practice. If you care about your health or the health of your infant DO NOT CONSIDER. They certainly do not care about you or having any ounce of professional integrity. read more

I'm only giving them 2 stars bc of Bernadine Geary at the Waugh Chapel location for my annuals. All other experiences have sucked. I became pregnant and made an appt for my 8 week verification where I was told I had to go to their Annapolis location. 3 days before my appt I started spotting and I called they told me it was normal. I came to my appt and saw Dr Samosa, I told her what had been going on and she didn't say much of anything. Got to the sonogram where she told me I measured at only 6 weeks and no heartbeat. She acted very strange from that point like she didn't want to give me any info in case it would scare me. She kept asking me if I was sure of my first day of my last period, and I was 110%. She gave me no info on what this could mean or if i did miscarry what to do. A few days later I started getting heavy cramping and more spotting, I also no longer had pregnancy symptoms. I called the doctors office and the triage nurse called me back she said there was nothing they could do except bring me in for blood work. Still acted like it was normal and not to worry. Again I feel like someone should have told me what to do in case I did get heavier bleeding. Telling me it was all normal made me feel like they didn't care and were just blowing me off. No one knows my body better then I do, They should have listened to me. I know there is nothing anyone can do for a miscarriage but filling my head on what to do is what I needed. I ended up got to the ER that night and they confirmed miscarriage. I had to spend 10 hours in the ER to get that info. 3 days later I am still in pain as a DNC was never done and I don't know if this is normal. Impossible to talk to anyone at this office. I decided to give Chesapeake Women's Care a call after Women's OBGYN told me they were booked out for months. I called about 10 minutes ago, around 12:15pm. I stated that I would like to make an appointment and the receptionist interrupted me and said, "They are not here. We can't take any appointments." Then she proceeds to ask if it is an emergency. Only after I said um no, just wanted to make an appointment does she explain that they doctors are out to lunch and that I have to call back. She was so rude I just told her forget it, I'll find somewhere else to go. Maybe someone that has been a patient of this office would know no to call during lunch hour, but since I was to be a new patient, AND I am not psychic, I didn't know. There isn't enough great things I could say about this office! I had suffered a miscarriage prior to coming and had my follow up apppintment with them. I was a new patient because I did not have an obgyn prior. I walked into the office and explained my situation. Crystal smith was my nurse practitioner. She was truly amazing. She had the best chair side manner I ever experienced. She gave me referrals. She answered all my questions and made me feel so much better about the experience. The doctors are good if you can ever get to one. I made an appointment for a check-up and was told that no one would be able to see me for over a month. I went to my appointment and no one ever called with my lab results, so I figured I was good. I happened to get my results over a month later when I went in for birth control and found out the hard way that the results weren't good. They couldn't give me birth control and told me I had to schedule a follow-up for my labs, but didn't have an appointment available for over a month (typical), and only with a different doctor (also typical). They then called me a week before that appointment to reschedule because the doctor was going on vacation. Between the month-long wait for the initial screening, the month-long wait for the lab results, the month-long wait for the follow-up appointment, and the month-long wait after rescheduling the follow-up appointment, it's been FOUR months that I've been waiting! So much for early detection and treatment! Then today, I had an issue which required same-day treatment, was late for my appointment (not on purpose), and was told that the earliest I could reschedule for is 3 days from now. I'll have to go to an urgent care clinic instead. And don't bother trying to call when you're running late, because no one ever answers. Also, I live right across the street from the Gambrills office and am NEVER able to get an appointment there. Bottom line: if you can find another practice, you should. Very disappointed. I switched here looking for better and more responsive medical care coming from a much larger practice. The first appointment I had was with Dr. Herman and was great for just an annual. Then I got pregnant and while you think the care for pregnant women would be the best, it went significantly downhill. For our very first appointment we waited for an hour and then felt rushed when we had many questions. The doctor kept telling us how bad the ultrasound machine was and didn't take much time meeting with us. The Gambrills office is dingy and feels dirty. But the worst care I received was from an on call doctor. I called with a medical question after having been hospitalized with norovirus and severe dehydration at 10 weeks pregnant. It took over an hour and three calls to the answering service to even be called back. When I finally was called, the doctor was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. I was notably upset with the situation and lack of availability and responsiveness. He told me "I could answer your question, but not with that attitude." He flat out refused me the medical advice I was seeking. We are in the process of switching back to the larger practice. As a former patient, I was able to call them and speak to a professional doctor in a timely manner... and I'm not even a current patient! This experience was horrible and clearly we don't want the care of our unborn baby in the hands of "doctors" like this. Is that even legal to refuse a patient medical advice related to a pregnancy? I'll be sure to investigate that for sure. Regardless, I would recommend staying far away from this practice, which does not take medical care seriously even for pregnant women, their main population. There care is truly a disgrace. I currently need to get in to see a doctor and there are no doctors available!! I really wanted to get in with Dr. Herman, but her next appointment is not until the 29th!!! I can't believe they aren't more flexible for emergencies. I also held for ten minutes before anyone picked up the phone. I guess it's time to find a new practice which makes me sad. read more

I've had some of the worst experiences with this office. Lack of follow-up and response has been a constant problem with the front desk. The medical staff's language and demeanor has been way less than professional the last two times I have visited, including one instance with my care provider responding to my problem with "sucks for you." I was recommended to try this group by a close friend, but i've decided to find a new home-base for my care. I was overwhelmed with how difficult this office was! read more

I am really disappointed in the way I was treated on the phone. I recently moved to the Annapolis area. When I got a positive home pregnancy test, I researched the internet for HOURS, I liked what everyone said about this practice so I decided to try. I was confident with my decision I made my first appointment with no trouble, and the lady was nice, and said "If you need anything in the meantime, please call." I had some spotting and cramping in the middle of the night. I waited until the office opened to call. I began calling at 8:00, and didn't actually speak to a person until almost 8:30 because no one would answer. I then had to leave a message. A few minutes later, someone returned my call leaving a voicemail saying since I was a new patient they could not advise me. I called back to see if there was some mistake, I had an appointment scheduled, why wouldn't they help me. By this time, I was crying because this is my first pregnancy, and I was scared, worried, confused, and frustrated. The lady on the phone was down right NASTY, saying that it was a legal issue and they could not advise me. I asked if I could get an appointment for that same day to see if everything was ok, and her response was "absolutely not!" She wouldn't even tell me if the symptoms were common or if I should go to the emergency room. This made me extremely concerned as to how they would handle an actual emergency. I ended the call by canceling my appointment and finding a new OB online. read more

Office staff is well-meaning but not well trained and looses paperwork. Dr. Wells is fine and friendly. Dr. Somosa is rude, has no bedside manner, does not explain anything, types while talking to you, misses important findings, often looks unkempt/underslept/disheveled, has emotional range of a teaspoon. I would not go here unless you are 100% healthy and have an unproblematic pregnancy and nowhere else to go. Even then, you would probably end up with an unnecessary c-section as a couple of my friends did. If you have any sort of issues/complications, I would steer clear of this office. read more
