Even though it was only noon, the barista / manager/ whoever was managing the counter told me he was "out of coffee" and I couldn't use the bathroom either. This is the ONLY place during the trip where I felt unwelcome. Plenty of seating and nice open space, but the menu wasn't posted and service rude to nonexistent. I headed to The Coffee instead and they were happy to serve a cup of coffee to me.

Honestamente, jamás había visto un servicio tan lento para algo tan simple. Parecía que cada plato lo estaban sembrando, cosechando y cocinando desde cero. La organización del lugar es inexistente. On this particular rainy day, it seemed like everyone had brought their dogs, and between the acoustics and the barking, it was a little overwhelming after a night out in San Juan. That said, the atmosphere, coffee, and overall aesthetic more than made up for it. The space is full of thoughtful touches, from the beautiful flower arrangements to the cute décor, and of course the Bad Bunny Vogue magazine that felt perfectly at home there. It has that effortlessly cool, cozy energy that makes you want to stay awhile. I tried the watermelon drink, which was delicious and a great option if you're looking for something outside the coffee sphere. I also had the cashew coffee, which was really good, especially if you're a cashew fan. But honestly, looking around, I don't think you can go wrong with any of their coffee offerings. If you're in San Juan and looking for great coffee, a charming atmosphere, and a spot that feels uniquely Puerto Rican, Café Regina is absolutely worth a visit.

At least one person has to wait inside for your name to be called as that is the system here when your food or drinks are ready. I got the avocado toast which was worth the wait. It was pretty yummy. The coffee shop has a cool, open-space layout -- perfect for working, studying, or hanging out. It is counter service and there are a few tables lining the perimeter along with some souvenir-ish items for sale. I got the iced Spanish coffee with condensed milk and cinnamon and it was delicious! Because I also had oat milk it tasted like an oatmeal cookie. They had also pastries and little cakes but I didn't partake. Highly recommend for a quick stop in the shade amidst waking the hills of Old San Juan.
