Do NOT stay here. This place is beyond unprofessional and honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had. They tried to take my deposit just because I had a friend briefly stop by, which already tells you everything about how they operate constantly looking for excuses to squeeze money out of guests. On top of that, when I was trying to leave in the morning, the office manager was literally standing behind my door, attempting to come into my room without any respect for privacy. It was invasive, uncomfortable, and completely unacceptable. I asked multiple times what he was doing, and he just stood there like it was normal behavior. The staff here are rude, opportunistic, and clearly only care about finding ways to charge you more. The rooms are poorly maintained, things are broken, and nothing works the way it should. Yet they still overcharge like this place is worth anything--which it absolutely is not. There are plenty of other motels nearby where you can spend just $10-$20 more and actually be treated with basic respect and decency. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the frustration. This place is shady, invasive, and completely unprofessional. Avoid it at all costs. This place doesn't even deserve one star if I could give it zero stars I most definitely would. read more

This place is actually not bad. Manager has been very helpful and kind, always offering new towels and if everything is ok. Unfortunately he has to deal with a variety of weird people but overall I recommend this place. It's clean and thus far I haven't seen any bugs or negative things that I've seen in other motels. read more

The rooms are always clean and it's fast and efficient service. If you looking for a place to stay when coming out to vist knotts berry farms this is a nice place. For being the most affordable stay I could find in the area, I had no issues. I needed a place to stay for a night and I got one. Sure, it's a bare bones motel, but I got what I paid for. A bed, a working AC unit, decent TV with plenty of DirecTV cable channels, no bugs, no grime or filth, and no customer service issues. I've stayed at nicer places of course, but for the price, this was better than I expected. read more

Wow. How do I loathe thee, let me count the ways. The owner of this place is a real lowlife. He treated me like garbage as soon as I arrived. I made my reservation on priceline a couple of days in advance and I was sick and tired when I arrived. The last thing I needed or expected was to have this mean dude yelling at me over and over. I kept telling him I understand the rules and that he doesn't need to worry, I don't smoke or drink and I don't intend to have guests but he told me, "shut up and listen to me". I couldn't believe the nerve of this guy. Anyway, I will rant more later but let me start with the itemized list of factual and objective problems with the Chester Inn: 1. Both their own website and the priceline website said that there was a security deposit of $25 but upon arrival he demanded $50. 2. Deposit could only be paid in cash and the manager refused to give me a receipt until I argued with him literally for about 3 minutes. I could not believe the gall of this man to expect me to be yelled at, then to hand over cash with no receipt. He eventually scribbled out a completely illegible hand written receipt ON A NOTE CARD, which would be useless to prove anything, but whatever. I accepted it because I wanted to move on with my life. 3. Wifi is included in the room but it did not work for 90% of my 5 day stay here. I was quarantining due to Covid so this was a huge issue as I needed to take work calls via zoom and I was not able to complete a single one while I was there. Additionally it was just a huge bummer to not be able to stream any kind of videos, even YouTube on the lowest settings didn't work over wifi. I had to use my phones Hotspot to have any kind of entertainment or functionality from my laptop. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU NEED TO WORK TELECOMMUTE. Apparently they are "working on the issue" is what I saw on another review... Okay. Y'all been working on that for last 2 years and no solution? 4. There is NO COOKING IN THE ROOM rule for some reason. I have a hot plate and rice cooker I keep in my car to make simple foods like noodle and oatmeal and rice with veggies while I'm traveling, so I was supposed to just buy pre-made food and keep it in the fridge? Okay, I tried that but the fridge FROZE ALL MY FOOD SOLID OVERNIGHT. So in the morning my overnight oats were a block of ice as was my lunchmeat, cheese, and sparkling waters. Yet somehow the sorbet I put into the freezer compartment was halfway liquid?? WTF kinda backward ass fridge curse is this??! Wow I don't even under. So whatever. Screw that guy and screw this place. I brought my own stuff in and I COOKED EVERY DAY I WAS THERE. The manager can kiss my grits (which are delicious btw, even when made in a crappy motel room). 5. The bed squeaked incredibly loud. Like the scene in Delicatessen. Oh and the bed was also crinkly and lumpy because there was a bedspread and thick plastic liner under the fitted sheet. 6. The cheap laminate floor was rippled and swollen from all the water damage from what I assume must have been flooding because I had to wear shoes the whole time even inside because there were sharp catching edges on EVERY PLANK of the floor. 7. I was taking a nap shortly after settling into my room when the owner or manager guy called my room DEMANDING I bring jumper cables out to help someone. WTF?? Of course I did go out and grab jumper cables but WTF?? 8. Upon check-in I confirmed that on check-out in Monday morning at 7am there would be someone available to check the room and give me my deposit back and he said YES HE IS UP AT 5 EVERY MORNING. On the day of my check out I called the office 5 times before he finally picked up and then he took almost 20 minutes to get to my room, and spent a full 5 minutes inspecting the room (was he counting the cigarette burns that where already there? 9. The room stank to high heaven of cigarettes which caused my allergies and asthma to flare up, so thanks for that! All the benefits of smoking without even having to light up! What joy! Okay. I feel like I've said enough in this list. So if you you like RUDE AND INSULTING management, rooms that REEK OF Cigarettes, cutting your feet open on cheese grater floors, comforters with lots of spikey melted cigarette burn holes, fridges that ruin your food, 0.5mb download speeds, staying up all night to loud neighbors banging on the walls random and screaming and playing loud music, and coming out to your care having spit and cigarette butts all around it you have to step in to load your car and don't mind being late for your appointment while the manager takes his SWEET ASS TIME inspecting your room....look no furthe! So the online price is false, don't come here and expect to pay any less than 100 per night, I called all the way from LA and asked how much a room would be for 2 nights and the owner told me that it would be $75. Only to come and have him charge us $200 for two nights. I also did not even stay the second night and asked for a refund and was not fulfilled when checking out on the second day at 1:45pm. 100% do not reccomend staying here. Management was horrible. the Stay was horrible. the bed used a very old cover that smelled bad and had hair and other residue on it. and btw I'm not a geechy old woman or old guy. If you have a guest who leaves your room key in the room they won't open the room, won't give a refund for a night stay that was not occupied as I was booked for two nights and only was able to stay one night. Their maid service steals items left in the room, and they don't hold them accountable. Was told the police has been at the motel 14 times for the same problem. If your desperate, your better off sleeping at the beach, somewhere else, and not at this horrible place. It's not worth the hassle for a cheap room. Owner and wife very friendly and helpful. Locked my keys & room key in my car in the middle of the night and the owner got out of bed to first let me into my room then gave me a coat hangar which successfully helped me get into my car. Don't back in while parking cause they don't allow that and will let you know but other than that good place to stay and I will stay there again! read more

The Chester inn has exceeded all my expectations. I took a chance with the reviews & the biggest complaint is " the rules. " The reason the rules are in place is to keep the property taken care of & comfortable for the guests.This hotel was way better than I expected . The rooms are very clean & spacious- no hair on floors , beds , toilets / no fingerprints on doors -they clean their rooms VERY well . They smell fresh & doesn't appear to be abused , or neglected . This is the second time my partner and I have tried this hotel. The first time we were met with unfriendly customer service from who I believe is the owner. We book trips to Anaheim regularly, at least once a month, and always book hotels in advance, typically a month ahead of time. The first time we stayed at this hotel it was a multi-day stay and they made us switch rooms after the first night which was a major inconvenience for our plans that we had during our trip. That was not all though, we were put in a dirty room with loud neighbors and tow trucks at all hours of the night in the parking lot right below us. Not to mention, the room was not even the room we had booked. Jumping to our most recent stay, we decided to try this hotel again and booked it at least a month in advance and when we arrived, we were again met with a familiar unfriendly face giving us the same treatment as before. Once again, we were not given the room we booked, we booked a non-smoking room due to medical conditions and were given a smoking room that reeked of smoke and made both of us sick. As soon as we got into the room the phone started blaring and the owner demanded we repark in a different spot talking to me as if I was a child repeating "Do you understand? Do it now" over and over and when I addressed the fact that we had not given the room we paid for he brushed it off and said that was all he had and kept insisting we repark right that second. We continued to inspect the room and found mold present throughout the room, especially in the bathroom which was super disgusting. The outlets in the room also didn't work, there was only one set that had any power connected to it and the shower was made for midgets. We were unable to complete the stay at this location and when asking about a refund we were told no they would only refund for one night even though we had already checked out and had to book ANOTHER hotel and pay extra for the last-minute booking. My husband and I needed a last minute room and found this place on Priceline for $65 for the night which was a great deal. I always book my hotels on Priceline and I never have to really yelp or do any kind of research on the hotel because they always advertise great hotels and we always got lucky with awesome locations. But man! I really wish I yelped this place. Just standing in the room makes you feel dirty. I rather have slept in the car. The worst part is while my husband and I were waiting to check in. So for one the online prices aren't accurate. I actually called in all the way from LA to stay for 2 nights and the manager said 75 dollars. For one it was actually double for a night. It went from 43 to 88 dollars. Secondly the tv nor the key did not work. Third, we paid for two nights but we ended up leaving after the first and the motel manager refused to give us the second nights money's back (a refund) despite us not utilizing our second night's stay. Plz do not stay in this hotel. At first the service was great then I started to see that the owners of this hotel do all the room service and they watch every move you do. When I got there she said is a no smoking hotel but when I booked it, it gave me the option of adding smoking. So that's all lies. She assume we were smoking in the room because we would go out side to smoke so she saw us smoking. When it was time to check out she charged me for smoking when my boy friend and I were smoking outside. I do feel like they got cameras or something because she was mad when we checking out telling us they know when we close the door or open our doors. How would she know that. The inside of the hotel looks clean but then I started noticing how dirty it really is. The shower curtain was dirty it look like it had blood stains. The toilet would clog fast. Plus they don't have no room service cart they push around a shopping cart from a store with sheets and trashed. I don't think this hotel should be on those hotels websites like trivago. My family and I got woken up in the middle of the middle of the night by a loud phone and the manager pounding down the door saying my car was parked crooked and i had to come fix it. It wasnt over the lines and there were so many open spaces in the lot. Mind you i have my 3yo with me and we are being disturbed over nothing. The man and the woman who run the office are the most unpleasant, angry, rude, and irrationally close minded bigots I've ever had the pleasure of conversing with. I don't know why they were so angry, rude, and suspicious of everything? I'm 89% sure they're not happy with the liberal life they've made for themselves in the United States. This place is so greedy they charge you, on top of the overpriced room fee, for wifi, visitors, room keys, parking, tv, clean linens, soap, hot water, soapy hot water,  and you can even pay a little extra for a room completely void of any dirty drug needles. And to top it all off they lock the lobby 24/7 and only deal with customers through the night window as they gouge you of your hard earned money while talking smack to your face through an inch of safety glass. My boyfriend and I needed a last minute room as we were going to Disneyland for for 2 hours on a Friday evening after I had made the 4 hour drive from out of town. We needed a bed before heading to another city at 6am in the mornign. All hotels in the area were booked and unless we wanted to spend $150+ for 5 hours of sleep. I figured, "that's fine, I just need a bed". The room smelled, the sink was worn out, and the bed left our backs sore in the morning. I've slept on floors more comfortable. I didn't even want to take off my shoes on the carpet. Granted the room was cheap, but still, even $55 is not worth this place. read more

It all started when my wife and I got back from our stay at The Bellagio (AWESOME hotel) in Las Vegas, and had a few extra days off from work and decided to stay an extra night in LA to visit Disneyland. We found a room on Priceline for $65 and decided to book it, like we've done plenty of times before. We figured, we wouldn't need anything special since we only needed a room to sleep in for a night WORST MISTAKE EVER! We get to the hotel to check in. I pay with my credit card and the owner tells me, "there's a $10 deposit for the TV remote and room key and it's CASH ONLY." It's kind of high, but I will get it back at check out so I pay. We get in the room and immediately get hit with stuffy hot air and a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Then my wife says "where is the bathroom?!" yes, I really thought there was no bathroom in this tiny cigarette box of a room for a second. It was blocked behind the door as we came in. We put our bags on the bed and go to put our leftover lunch in the fridge and quickly realize there isn't one in the room like there should be. I go back down to the owner to ask where my mini fridge is and there is a man with a lady, who is clearly a prostitute checking in, telling the owner he only needs the room for a couple hours. Wow. So I get up to the window and tell her there is no mini fridge in my room. She tries to convince me there is one in the room and after going back and forth telling her there definitely wasn't one in there, she finally remembers the cleaning lady took it out. So she goes upstairs to get it (At this point I'm already regretting my decision to stay here) but she can't lift it, so now I have to carry a mini fridge in to my room SMH!! Later in the evening my mom, who lives in LA, came to visit us in our room. Not even 1 minute later the owner is calling our phone threatening to tow her car unless we paid a $10 visitor fee. I asked why I have to pay for her to VISIT us. She wasn't sleeping in the room. They just kept repeating it was their policy and it says it on booking.com, which we didn't use. I checked the website just to see for myself and nowhere did it say anything about a visitor fee. DO NOT stay at this motel. Worst experience I have ever had in a hotel/motel. I would rather sleep in my car than to ever stay in this dirty, disgusting, smelly motel. There are too many things wrong with this place to fit on here. Oh geez if I can give this place zero stars I would. So first off, i decided to book a room here with the intention of saving a ton's of money and not having to spend extra for other services as all I needed was a night stay. ( I didn't get my $10 back when I returned it) anyways here's where it gets worse: my friends decided to drop me off here and I was charged for having 4 other friends just chilling in the parking lot for $10 each. Such BS. So I'm like F it, might as well check out my room. As I got to the room I knew what I was getting myself into, dirt-infested beds, a shower that barely works, and a box-tv like they had in the 90s. With that in mind, I witnessed a domestic fight right next door with a bunch of yelling On top of it all, the workers did not make this stay even better, they were utterly rude, unprofessional, and seeing other unhappy guests argue with the workers who do nothing but backfire with their BS policies I don't understand who's running this business or how they are still open, but someone needs to hold them accountable As for whoever considers staying here, DONT and I repeat DONT DO IT, I am saving you the hassle of getting yourself into a "hell" stay near the happiest place on earth Talk about cheap thrill? Over charged vs what I booked on Expedia, required $10 cash "deposit" on top of my credit card, and refused to accept my signature. Room smells, key barely works, and on top of it all, the bathroom is disgusting. I will not be returning. read more

DO NOT STAY EVEN IF IT IS YOUR LAST OPTION This is by far the grossest, rudest, uninhabitable motel in the state, and possibly the country. Managers: The two managers are beyond rude. If you aren't Indian they will most likely be racist towards you and yes it was just as surprising to see in person than it probably is reading about it. I just can't understand how they try to anger the customer and nickel and dime them while expecting to run a good business. Motel: The motel was dirty and stinky. Cracks and stains everywhere and also missing proper vent covers. I asked for a towel, THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY. What kind of motel doesn't have towels to even shower with??? Not sure what my money went towards other than the seven channels on TV (barely visible content due to the very old tube TV) I would space out and watch since I couldn't shower or use my laptop. Also, every morning you will wake up to the screams of the manager (Short Indian man w/ no respect even towards women) and a customer yelling over a late charge or some other thing the motel tried to charge them for that they shouldn't have. Not sure why the reviews are so poor here. My room is big and clean, flat-screen TV, mini fridge, and new wood floor. Only issue is weak WiFi signal which they are currently trying to improve. I'll be back, you can't beat the price. read more
