Enjoyed our stay. Rooms were amazing, the shower was hot and terrific pressure.... Plus we were blessed with a superb view of downtown from which we viewed some nice sunsets. Only thing missing were the little things that make a good hotel a great hotel: free coffee and water (what's up with the $13 bottle of Aqua Panna? For real? Even in Italy a bottle only runs about 2 Euros). The staff was ok. The manager checked us out and she was awesome! We would return if our travels bring us back. The rooms are relatively new and well-maintained. The lobby is nice and spacious and the kitchen/bar area is inviting. The check-in desk is quite small, so it is one-at-a-time there, which can be a little frustrating if you're tired, having flown in from out east and ready for bed. The in-room experience is solid, with plenty of room for working at the desk, decent entertainment options on the in-house television, and a small fridge. The coffee makers are a little primitive and you get exactly one pack of regular coffee, so stop in the lobby and pick up more (they are free but you have to ask). The staff without exception was friendly and welcoming and always ready to help. I'd stay here again and again without question. read more

If your kink is being spit on, you'll love their showers! If the price is right, consider this place for a clean, comfortable, modern room. Lots of pluses: nice staff, daily cleaning, both blackout and thin curtains, firm comfortable bed without a thick gross comforter, hot water, microwave, fridge (not packed with expensive items that charge you if you even touch them), swivel smart TV w/ cable, free wifi, free parking, USB ports, pool, workout room (whatever that is), onsite market and restaurant (and Starbucks with questionable hours), and a lobby that is way too big for the non-convention crowd (though perhaps too small for a convention). The only major minus is that the water pressure was like a drinking fountain. The minor minuses: no free breakfast, non-Chi obstacle course from entry to elevator, no coffee condiments in room, heater smelled like an old oven, getting onto the wifi splash page on your phone requires entering neverssl d0t c0m (something I had to figure out on my own), required me to check in by 10pm, and calling them direct is a nightmare. I likely said Representative 100 times- stupid stubborn robots. If you don't know the area, the location is good. Cypress, former home of John Stamos (Full House), Scott Aukerman (Comedy Bang Bang) and Tiger Woods (Inside Edition) has one of the best intersections in America: Ball/Holder. Though you're only half a mile from things like Trader Joe's and Red Robin, a few restaurants (Panera, Noodles Company, Tacomania, and El Torito) are just across the parking lot. The 605 is 5 miles north, the 5/91 7 miles east, and the 405/22 7 miles west, with the closest beach 8 miles away and Disneyland 20 minutes. The Los Alamitos Race Track is super close. If there's a horse called BadWaterPressure, it's a sign. Bet all you have! read more

This property is standard for Courtyard by Marriott. A three-star hotel: limited food service for breakfast and happy hour/early dinner. A grab & go mini-market at reception. No bell service or valet. Staff are all helpful and courteous. My room was clean and the bed comfortable. Entrance located just off Katella near Valley View. Convenient to LGB airport (about 20 minutes if traffic is good) and area attractions, but beyond walking distance to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. Some good food options next door. This started off as a refreshingly nice stay. I arrived and was taken care of by the front desk staff. I arrived a couple hours earlier than expected but they were very accommodating. Went into my room. It was clean and smelled fresh. I put my things away and I got comfortable. My interactions during my stay were very minimal to begin with. Then I started noticing things. I am a people watcher. I would notice how a front desk staff would speak to me and treat me different than most of her guest. I thought to myself. There's no way she treats me different than the regular guest here because I too am not like them, white. Left it alone. The hotel staff would regularly suspiciously sneak into my room even with (2) do not disturb signs on my door. They claim they missed it. Fast forward to a 5th extension to my stay. All paid for with no issues. This one declined by my bank for fraud. The hotel ordered their staff to wake me from my sleep & demand I pay in 5 minutes or be removed. Mind you I recently had surgery. I got up too quickly and began bleeding internally. I was able to stop the bleeding. A quick call to the bank resolved their $180 temporary hold issue. $180 got me to bleed. Let them show you the $5k in receipts I spent the rest of my stay no declines and no issues. But I'm sure not being white had anything to do with it. Don't stay here. Don't believe me? Mold on Pillow at Courtyard by Marriott Cypress, CA - Hotel Never Responded, Only Expedia Refund We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Cypress, California (Courtyard by Marriott Cypress, Orange County) for three nights. On our final morning, my wife discovered visible mold (see picture) on the underside of the pillow she had been sleeping on the entire stay. The pillow clearly had not been properly cleaned or replaced before our arrival. I contacted the hotel while still on the plane home and asked them to email me so I could send photos of the mold. They never followed up. I then called Expedia, who immediately issued the maximum refund they could ($75) and explained I would need to work directly with the hotel for the remainder. The moment the Expedia agent gave me an email address to send the photos to, the hotel "magically" sent the original email I'd requested. I replied with a detailed explanation and attached clear photos of the mold. I sent a follow-up email as well. I have received no response from the hotel at any point. This is a serious health and cleanliness issue. Sleeping on a moldy pillow for three nights is unacceptable, especially at a branded hotel like Courtyard by Marriott in Cypress, California. If Marriott corporate sees this: please investigate the housekeeping and management practices at this Cypress, CA property and make this right for guests who are being ignored after reporting a clear health hazard. I would recommend looking for another hotel based on the cleanliness and obviously their complete lack of customer service. read more

I stayed two nights while traveling for business (6/5-6/6). The check in staff was very genuine and friendly, he checked me in with a quickness that I appreciated after a 5 hour flight and 1 hour drive in traffic from the airport. He introduced himself and said "I will be here until 11, call down if you need anything". Note - I might have had the time wrong, but I thought that was special enough to mention. The room was clean and exactly what I would expect for this brand and age of hotel. You can see in other reviews that it's older, and so there are older a/c units, and the bathroom and vanity are not fancy nor large. But it's clean, and it's nice. The bed was wonderful, so was the desk size, and smart TV. The hotel was quiet. The only downside I could mention is that the info on the in-room hotel channel said that the Starbucks opened at 6am, and it didn't open until 6:30. So I was disappointed, when I went down there to learn that the hard way. I think they have a lot of information to manage across different sources (website vs tv, etc), there were mentions of Covid restrictions that are obviously not in place anymore, so this might not be something a specific location can easily change themselves. I would definitely stay here again. I hope this info is helpful to folks considering the location. read more

Parking is free and spacious (2024). Lobby is open and even has a half Starbucks and bar! Pool and gym are extremely clean and hotel is very quiet with fast elevators. Check in was thorough and Johnny is next level. Johnny went above and beyond to take care of us and made an impact to what Marriott is truly about. Room is clean, quiet and spacious. We booked this location for get away and was near bellflower because had tickets for comedy club. First the front lady Angela was awesome very welcoming and amazing customer service skills. Explain the near by locations and great sense of humor. Now to our room I read few reviews some good some bad, but in our case we love our room. It was quite the bed was comfy and huge windows looking the restaurants near by. Everything worked great and plenty of parking for free. The ice machine is near the elevators and they have snacks to buy on the first floor. Overall we had amazing stay at the hotel will definitely stay again. read more

Here's the review I left on Google. Be careful here guys. Be careful if you visit the bar. Bartenders change the tip amount and upper management doesn't care. I had a bartender change their tip. I had to call several times to finally speak with their operations manager Italia. She said she would investigate and get right back to me. Never heard back. I've called and left several messages and still nothing. I gave them a chance to fix the problem, but seeing as to how nothing has been done to correct the problem, I'm going to assume that management is aware of the fraud and supports it. I'm going to settle this with my credit card company. Check your final statement people. read more

Not sure how or why Courtyard hotels are the official hotels of the NFL. I can't imagine any NFL team staying here. The Air Conditioner sounded like my Ryobi Leaf Blower (see video). The rooms are extremely outdated and the tub showers are disgusting. Dirty and calk all over the place. The low popcorn ceilings kill the vibe. I only stayed here bc a company paid for me to be here for an event but I would never stay again and would rather spend my own money and stay elsewhere. read more

We checked in around 10pm for a 1 night stay and we were assisted relatively quickly. When we got to the room, it looked like someone was still in the room or maybe they had just left. There were old room keys left out, the TV was playing some kind of show, and cabinet doors were left open. The cleanliness was mediocre at best. The bathroom was not the cleanest and the couch had spots on it as well. Not all of the outlets appeared to work, so it was a scavenger hunt to find outlets where we could charge our devices overnight. The bed was made, appeared clean, and was comfortable enough. As a side note, there was no clock in the room but we were fine because we had our phones. read more

Always love staying here for the last 5 years. Staff great, informative, helpful. Rooms lovely, clean, large. However, the hotel needs improving: 1. Tub/showers need traction on tub floor. Very slippery. 2. Tub/showers need safety bars because of the slippery tub floors -- your aging guests need to hang onto something when stepping on slippery floor! 3. Bathroom doors are unyieldingly heavy and will NOT stay open. I am staying here solo and do not need this heavy door to close automatically every time I go in and out. Very inconvenient! 4. Had trouble with coffee maker. Never did get a cup in the room. 5. TV channels have a very poor selection. And very few of them. 6. Just because your phone says you are connected to their WiFi - it doesn't mean it's true. Had to call front desk to get help to connect phone and laptop. Thank you. read more

A nice refresh (they say remodel I say refresh) to the hotel. Pros: The staff the attentiveness the food service at the bistro. Manager Italia and Front Desk Mavis make our stays and requests high priority and make sure we are always taken care of. Gabriel at bistro breakfast service very kind attentive and great with service. Evening bistro service I don't have her name she also helps at front desk-she's amazing. Cons: The beds are hard they make too much noise the springs are loud and the base is lopsided. Such an uncomfortable several nights stay. Pool heated? Yeah right it was freezing at night for a pool open fork 8am-11pm monitor the heating and keep it heated even during summer. The managing of the pool area of loud rowdy kids without parents needs to be more consistent kids cannon balling, losing fowl language, hitting me with the football and no parental oversight. I blame the parents not the hotel but manage it better. All in an a nice stay and glad we had points and good prices but won't be staying again. read more

The front office said they'd put a note in incase there was anything they could do. When I mentioned it to the manager the following morning, the manager cancelled the charges for the night. I keep returning to this location due to the outstanding customer service and the modern design of the hotel. I have traveled for the last 12 years for work and have stayed at countless hotels throughout the country. I'm liking it here! We've driven past this hotel countless times since we live here in Cypress. Our house is getting fumigated so we choose to stay here. It's about 100 yards from an El Torito and little marketplace of restaurants. Very convenient! This hotel is clean, has a bar/ restaurant, pool, gym, conference center, and market. The lobby has complimentary water, juice, and yes, popcorn!!! I mean, who doesn't like popcorn?! There was a delay is getting our room cleaned, but we asked them to do so, and they gave us 2 complimentary drink vouchers. The bartender (I didn't catch his name) was professional, friendly, and even told me that if there was a drink that he didn't know how to make, I could walk him through it. That tells me he's not there for a paycheck. He's willing to learn and that's hard to find these days. He also asked us about our day and what we did. Because of him, I would come back just for the bar! The rooms are clean and spacious. I would definitely recommend coming back! read more

Stayed here for 3 Nights recently though I live locally I wanted to just get away for a "Staycation" from others and decided to come here and relax and "WFH" = Work from Hotel/Home.... Still under Covid Protocol especially with the new variant: Services in hotel were a bit limited in terms of food but the Bistro area for breakfast actually had a Grande Latte that was cheaper than Starbucks and pretty much was just as good.... Easy check-in and check-out and whoever was at the front each day was personable and friendly even contacted me to make sure if I wanted to change my sheets or towels which I asked for new towels later I called also because I wanted my trash out as well...easily done... Everything was pretty standard as I've stayed at many Courtyards in my lifetime....wouldn't mind staying at this location again or recommending it to others.... read more

This was one of the hotels that graciously offered long stays for healthcare workers battling the covid-19 pandemic. The day I checked in I was greeted by a smiling front desk receptionist. I think she was even the manager of the hotel. Of course the check in process was different at this time. Instead of being able to walk right into the lobby, we had to push a button that notified the front desk and be let in after an explanation of why we were here. Check in was quick and easy. Once you enter, you just see how beautiful the lobby is! There was a bar and many places to sit down (I wish I was able to use that area! I can imagine how nice it was for guests before the pandemic). This hotel also offers a pool, jacuzzi, fitness center, and conference rooms. (Of course we can't use it at the moment). The rooms are very nice as well. I was graciously given a king bed on the 7th floor (which is the very top). The bed actually faces the window, there is a nice sofa, a coffee table, a closet, plenty of drawers, mini fridge, desk, office chair, pull out office desk, and a pull out TV. There is youtube TV and HBO free for guests. This is already programmed in your TV. You can also sign into your netflix account. The remote has a giant netflix button that you can click and it will take take you directly to that app! Housekeeping is very attentive. (We only got cleaning done every seven days, but they did a wonderful job cleaning and sanitizing everything. Workers also all wore masks, gloves, and there was a handsantizer available as you came in). The hotel is very quiet with black out curtains. Very clean. I had no complaints about the bathroom. Overall it was a very cozy stay. I was very comfortable, felt safe, and was always greeted whenever I came back from work. Thank you Courtyard by Marriott in Cypress for your faithful service during the Covid 19 pandemic. I am very grateful you opened your doors to me as a registered nurse and faithfully served other members of the healthcare workforce who were battling in the frontlines. Forever thankful :). Personal thanks to Sabine as well! You're filled with so much positive energy! Thanks for always welcoming me with a hello and a smile. It made this hotel feel like a home away from home and really eased the discomfort I felt being away from my loved ones at home. Decent. Here's what happened: So we drive down to LA only to find out our reservations at another Courtyard were cancelled (oh yeah, there's gonna be a review soon) and there are no rooms available there, so we find ourselves here. We are tired, grimy, and totally peeved but glad we at least have a place to stay. Check in. Collapse on the bed for a minute. Took a nice and relaxing hot shower. Then yelp-ed places to eat: surprising good locale for decent eateries. Wandered around the hotel, checked out the gym, and even looked at the pool. Not bad, really. It's a little further out from Knott's Berry Farm but that turned out to be a plus for us: less touristy and less hectic and more of our speed. Overall, it's a Courtyard, yeah? So it is what it is. But what would have really helped would have been a healthy does of Customer Service because people really appreciate that shit and tend to write better reviews about businesses that understandably know how to exhibit it. read more

Horrible Management! I had stayed at this hotel for several years between 2014-2018, while I would travel for work. It was my favorite hotel in the area and I loved the Bistro food. This place is clearly under a different management. The front desk clerks have no idea how to operate their systems and overcharged me for my last stay. I persisted to have my hotel receipt corrected and was told a manager would call me. No manager ever called. I spoke to Jamie and Kaitlin who both told me they would correct my receipt. When I called on the second day after check-out (6th phone call), Jamie told me she would transfer me to HR. Someone answered and then hung up. When I called back three separate times, no one picked up. My previously favorite hotel in Cypress is now in the pits. I will never stay at the location again! I had my catalytic converter cut out of my car in this parking lot last night 10/22/21. The parking is "park at your own risk" in other words if your car gets stolen, broken into, or has the catalytic converter stolen the Marriot Courtyard takes no responsibility making sure your car is safe while you sleep here. The front desk says there are no cameras in this parking lot which is for this hotel. The front desk this has happened before, and the management knows. I filed a police report. Where do I start when I got here I check the sheets on the bed because I always check the sheets when I go go any hotel upon checking the sheets I see a stain what I thought was on the sheets but was actually on the mattress cover. I request new sheets upon doing that is when I realized it was actually the mattress cover. I requested to move to another room which I was moved and also given 10000 points for the inconvenience. Move to the new room a little better however the tub looks as if the floor pad had been stripped from it which look dirty!!! The fire alarm went off two nights in a row. In addition when you request for you room to be clean they never come and you constantly have to request new and clean towel. I will never stay here ever again!!!! read more

I have stayed here pre-COVID many times and the property is starting to show some wear. My wife was not a fan of the off kilter buttons in the elevator, because that makes it look like it hasn't been well maintained. While the room was nice, it was a King Suite, it was well worn. The pillows on the couch/pullout were very sad looking. The cabinet door to the fridge area was hanging off. Also, there is not much counter space in the bathroom, which is difficult with two people's toiletries. The bed was comfortable and having the fan on full time drowned out any outside noise cause it was loud!!! The staff was nice and prompt when requesting additional towels. read more
