We get there after a family gathering. We go to windows and ask if there is a downstairs room available. They say no and we get a 2nd floor. No issues. We get to the room and the AC was just blowing hot air. This was the hottest night of the whole weekend (Saturday night) we open the window but humidity was high so it felt clammy to the max. I call front desk and the guy just stated he didn't have anyone there and we have to just ensure it. No offering alternate room or anything to help us. Probably the worst nights rest I've gotten in many years. The AC unit looked like it was from the 80's and barely giving out any air at all. It was worse than a fan. I will never go there ever again. There was a lipstick stain on the pillow, and stains on a towel (which may be blood). Immediately upon arrival, my husband noticed hair on the bed. When I wiped the floor with a towel, the towel became grey with dirt. As the toilet paper holder was damaged, the toilet paper repeatedly fell on the ground, becoming dirty. I booked a reservation 3 months in advance. When I arrived to check-in I was informed that the motel had cancelled my reservation 2 hours prior to my arrival. Very rude front desk! All I was told was that they called me & left a message. Yes they did, but 2hours prior. Luckily the hotel next door had 2 rooms available. However, they spent thousands on redoing the bathroom and vanity yet they couldn't replace the most obvious thing, the century dated comforters. He kept having me call back every 30 mins but eventually had another person stand outside of my friend's room to kick her out of the room. They were rude. I had my friend wait in the parking lot so my husband can go and pick her up and get her another hotel, but the staff at star inn would not even allow for her to sit in the parking lot to wait for her pick up. A water pipe broke and flooded Our home and my wife and I needed a room at the last min. The Star Inn was right off the 55 fwy and the office had a open sign on in the window at 2:00am. We were worried as we had no reservation but Aaron checked us in with no problem. The room rate was reasonable and he was very accommodating and gave us a wheel chair accessible room. This place is a little hole in the wall but is the best place to come especially for affordable rates. The staff have been nothing but accommodating and care about the people here. The rooms are cozy and quaint and they are conveniently located right next to a gas station, circle k, and across from the OC fair grounds. They do extended stay and work with you during hard times. I have never in my life had such a creepy experience. I took my girlfriend there. When he realized it was two girls he legit ran screaming after us saying wait wait... because it was two girls and not a guy n a girl he gave us a "better room" we later realized the window was rigged to be open without us noticing and he was standing outside listening to us have sex.. disgusting. Not to mention how extra creepy he was with me checking in... kept trying to grab my arm to "look at my tattoos" I have been here a few times and every time the price is different they basically charge what they feel like N make charges up as they go along. Wife is a Bitch and thief...A friend of mine is staying there tonight I went to see him. Dude made a federal case about it even tho he is allowed visitors. Secondly he kept coming and saying let me talk to u and pulling my friend outside and locking him in a conversation for ten to fifteen mins at a time... also when we went out to eat he wouldn't leave us alone when we came back With our food it drove me nuts. Then while we were gone someone came looking for my friend, so because if that dude charged him an additional ten dollars plus the ten he had already gotten for me being there. I had an easy and friendly check-in, and the rooms were as expected and very clean. The location is fantastic! You're near the freeway should you need to get in and out of the area quickly. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 due to the fact that the room was only 89.00 per night for a two queen bed room. The lady at the front desk was friendly and funny. On the down side.... it is a very shady place that felt less than safe. When I was outside of my room (just brought something up) a man that looked to be on the thug side asked for me to put his phone number in my phone. I told him "No, I have a boyfriend but thank you". He mumbled something and threw his hands up and walked off. All night you could hear people talking and walking by the room. You will not get a good night rest unless you sleep like a hibernating bear! The room is seriously outdated! Holes and cigarette burns on the bedspread. The carpet looks 50 years old. The walls are dirty with holes and chipping paint. The locks on the doors are ancient. The toilet seat is stained yellow. They didn't have wash cloths. I could go on with the negatives but I think you get the idea. On the bright side, I didn't see any bugs and we made it out alive. This was a lesson learned. Never wait till the last minute to look for a room on a Saturday night. We called places for over 30 minutes and everywhere was booked! This is truly Motel Hell!!! My girlfriend and I wanted to go to a nice motel to celebrate New Year's Eve. This was a nightmare! Filthy dirty, small tube tv with only local stations, no radio/alarm clock, You had to deposit $10 just to get a remote! There were no blankets on the beds or in the room. When we asked for some (which we had to get ourselves) we got 2 stiff blankets with hair balls and burn marks throughout! The bed linens had cigarette burns everywhere! One of the beds was broken and half on the filthy floor. There was black mold in the bathroom. Did I mention that the room smelled like smoke? If she walks past your room and you happen to have your curtain open, she will look in your room and notice something. You can be sitting on the bed, and she will complain. There is no sense in someone acting like this. She has a problem with a certain group of people so she is very disrespectful. Very much so. She is mean. Your stay here will not be pleasant. Cheap motel, and you get what you'd expect for the price. It's literally across the street from the OC Fairgrounds. There's lots of parking, and places to eat around the area. From what I gathered, the upstairs rooms are the non-smoking rooms, and the downstairs are the smoking ones. This place was absolutely disgusting. Cockroaches everywhere. The door to the bathroom didnt shut. We had THREE people and he put us in the smallest hotel room I've ever seen, with ONE FULL SIZED BED! We tried to get our money back about an hour after we had arrived (we hadn't touched anything since it was disgusting) and he refused to refund it. The TV was from 2000. But I'm surprised they even had one there. No microwave, fridge, coffee, soap (any toiletries), room phone, and there were burn holes in our sheets. They provided a few towels and that was it. The only positive thing about this motel was that the guy at the front desk was extremely nice...until the next morning. He wouldn't give our deposit back because the maids woke us up at 11:03 and apparently check out is 11. Then he was threatening to call the cops even though we were almost done packing. We were out by noon and still didn't get our deposit back. There aren't many motels I've been to that have no leniency whatsoever..especially when we weren't complaining/being rude about them putting THREE people in a ONE bed, TINY room with absolutely nothing with cockroaches everywhere. I'm sorry but for the horror movie experience I just had, they should've paid ME for staying there. Never felt so disgusted or had a worse experience in my life. Our experience of managers abrubtly unlocking the door at odd hours with one foot in tge room saying oops sorry happens often. Then theres the BED BUGS . They are so bad , We demanded to move rooms Nancy after one week did that to her credit, however at the end of the week raised our room rate $65.00 per week.
