Chester Riding Club is not only an established riding facility, but also a second home to myself and many others from all age ranges, genders, etc. The farm itself is beautiful, the property has a range of green pastures for the horses to enjoy, as well as three riding rings altogether. The stables are beautiful, the stalls are of great size for the horses to stretch, and the barn itself is comfortable and enjoyable. In my past 15 years of riding, I have attended riding facilities that were often uncomfortable with trainers who did not care. When deciding I wanted to make riding apart of my daily lifestyle, the amount of recommendations to try out Chester Riding Club were uncountable. Jamie and Sarah are unbelievably talented and well-acclaimed among the equestrian field, carrying a line of jaw dropping competition records and show stopping riders to prove their efforts. They are both always interested in what is best for their student, not themselves. Not once have they made a decision that has negatively affected my riding career. Each horse among the CRC property is taken care of with the highest of effort, with their individual needs taken into the highest of consideration. I have now owned two of my own horses at Chester, who were taken care of fantastically. Another great plus is the amount of lifelong friendships I have made at Chester Riding Club. Not only is Chester Riding Club a riding facility, it is a second home. Most of my memories come from my experiences here. And did I mention with the consistent help of Jamie and Sarah, I went from doing the Itty Bitty's to the 1.10m in no time, a dream I never thought I would be able to accomplish. DO NOT GO HERE! Jamie Maillet and his 20-something year old girlfriend Sarah Scheiring, who run this place, are some of the most disloyal, uncaring, bad business people I have ever dealt with. They make their money by buying young/inexpensive horses, training, and showing them, then selling them at a high price to make a profit. They don't care a bit about the public having a pleasurable experience riding there or being around their horses. If you're not bringing in money for them, in the form of owning/boarding/showing your horse, they could care less. They put in no effort to appropriately pair riders with horses for lessons to the public and jeopardize the safety of anyone who takes lessons there. I rode horses when i was younger and when I was diagnosed with leukemia and lived in a hospital bed for years, I dreamed about someday getting back in the saddle. When I was strong enough to do this, I made the big mistake of going to this facility. When the horse I was leasing through them became unmanageable and unruly, they ridiculed me, did not return my calls, and when I was in tears, they yelled at me, terminating my lease early. I have been competitively show jumping horses for 11 years, and I truly believe I would not be at the level I'm at today if it weren't for Chester Riding Club. Jamie Maillet and Sarah Scheiring's passion and dedication towards making each rider the best they can possibly be is, in my opinion, unmatched. While CRC trains many equestrians at the highest and most prestigious levels of show jumping, they are undoubtedly able to work with a rider of any level or age. There are a wide range of riders at many different levels in the sport, and CRC never turns anyone away. In addition, the employees and customers are all incredibly passionate towards the care of their horses. Everyone there is committed to putting the horses first and making sure they always feel their best. I've been apart of Chester Riding Club for over 5 years now and couldn't imagine myself at any other barn. I knew from the start, this place had everything I had ever needed and dreamt of in the equestrian world. First coming to CRC I had only had experience in the equitation and hunters with pony's. With Jamie Maillet's phenomenal training and CRC's incredible selection of horses, I was able to purchase my first jumper horse, go to my first jumper show (with a ton more to follow) and learn what riding was truly about. I now have a Grand Prix horse of which I also bought from Chester and couldn't be more satisfied with my riding career and the treatment the horses receive. Chester Riding Club is a top notch barn in Chester, NJ. The care for the horses is unparalleled. They use top feed, hay and bedding. The training is amazing with most students starting with up/down lessons going on to junior jumpers, young riders and grand prix! The facility is really nice with big airy open stalls, an indoor walker, heated grooming area, and 21 turnout paddocks for individual turnout. The viewing lounge also has heat and comfortable couches and chairs to watch lessons. All of the lesson horses are retired or semi-retired show horses/ponies and are very safe for learning. Most customers have been there for a long time and their vet and farrier are both 10+ year relationships. read more

There is a worker smokes in the horse stalls with all the hays and danders around that could cause fire and killed all the horses. And rats everywhere, not mice. They use straws instead of sheddings to cover the ground of the stalls. They don't do turn outs or lounge the horse, and the horses are underweight because they don't feed enough hays. The owner Jamie does sketchy things behind clients' back. A client recently told me this stable has serious financial issues that's why they steals stuff and abuses horses. After Sarah left, this place is a shit hole. The staff comes and goes and no one answers or responds to messages. Train wreck. read more

This is a wonderful place! I have been here for almost 7 years and have had an amazing experience. The trainers are extremely skilled and the barn is a great family friendly environment. They take very good care of the horses and monitor them closely. I would never be where I am in my competitive riding career if it were not for Chester Riding Club and its trainers.
