Definitely watch the crabs when purchasing the larger sizes! We picked up and paid for all jumbo crabs - the jumbos were on top and smaller (think under 6inches). I didn't order anything but jumbos( or the largest). They didn't give me all jumbos, yet that's what I paid for. Definitely look at the crabs under the first couple layers to make sure you get the size you paid for. Definitely felt we got ripped off. read more

I'm a Maryland girl that loves blue crabs, so when we went camping in rock hall (Bayshore campground) I asked the staff for a suggestion on local seafood, lacy the manager was happy to send me in the direction of chest river seafood. Pre ordered a half bushel of #1 males for pick up on Saturday and my gosh when we picked them up they smelled sooooo amazing. I couldn't wait to get them back, but when we finally sat down i was greeted with this huge pile of hot steaming big ole crabs. I'm telling you these were the biggest, heaviest crabs I have ever had in my 33 years. The seasoning is to die for perfect amount on the crabs. Let me not forget to mention they went above and beyond to help us out with steaming some local corn we had picked up from a produce stand. I would recommend this place 100 times over to anyone who would listen read more

Always great Crabs and a wide selectoon of Bay Centric seafood. Crab sizes are consistent with what is advertized and the $$ you pay (Jumbo, #1, #2, etc..) and are steamed and seasoned perfectly. Chesapeake Seafood is our "go to" place for Crabs. read more

I was very disappointed with the service. The service was awful by the little brunette. She would only answer questions with one word. tossed our seafood at us. She acted like she hated the world. Not one smile or a thank you. We purchased a very large order. The soft shell crabs were good. The breaded oysters were terrible. The Smith Island CAKE WAS stale. So with that being said terrible service left a bad taste in our mouths. Not sure we will return. read more

I've never been disappointed. We ordered a dozen #1 for $40 and a lb of large shrimp to go. Ended up with a bakery's dozen and some of the best crabs of the season. Every time we're in Rock Hall we stop by for our crab fix. Great price great food. Yummy!!!! read more

If you like fresh seafood it doesn't get any fresher than this! Chester River crabs (the best blue crabs in the world), oysters, and a variety of fish all caught locally can be purchased. The local Rock Hall watermen offload their catch right into the cooler at this cool little market tucked around the corner from the marina where they dock their boats. You can call and have crabs steamed and waiting for you when you arrive that were caught that morning. Bushels are packed tight and you get what you pay for. If you like to find those local places that are off the beaten path this is the place for you. It's a must for me when I visit the Eastern Shore! Note: this is not a restaurant, it's a local market. Seafood doesn't get any fresher than this unless you cook it on the boat! read more

Best crabs ever! Grew up in the DC area eating local seafood --move over Maine Avenue Wharf. These are local and really fresh -- you can buy them live or have them steam them while you wait which we did. We ordered mediums and they were the meatiest and sweetest I've ever had.
