Different Grade levels were running the activities and students were also volunteering to help with food service and other things. Since starting at Josh, her mood has improved dramatically, which has been a wonderful change. Her teacher, Ms. Weaver, is truly exceptional and genuinely cares for her students. My daughter was struggling academically, and Ms. Weaver called us to express her concerns. We decided to have our daughter evaluated, and she was diagnosed with ADHD, hyperfocus type. Once we understood what was going on, we were able to support her better. Her grades improved significantly, and she received two awards at the end of the school year. Ms. Weaver supported her every step of the way and played a vital role in helping her succeed. While the teachers have been wonderful, the front office staff could benefit from additional training. We've also encountered some issues with bullying. I had to personally address a situation with a child who continued to bother my daughter. Ms. Weaver did her best to handle the issue and even involved the other child's parents. To the parents of children who bully others: please do better. Teach your children to respect others and to keep their hands to themselves. I saw child at the park bullying a kid and the other child beat him up because he was tired of being picked on. Please raise your kids right!

Next, they are unfair. In 1st grade, I went to the PE class; kids were being bad, and we got in trouble, but I didn't do anything, and yet I still got in trouble. Those were two bad things that happened at Josh Stevens Elementary School, better than other elementary schools in my opinion overall. 3 stars

The Good Pinecrest still provides an exceptional academic program. I've had very open and transparent interaction with teachers and staff (family oriented). Looking at the schools data/ scores and the progress of my own children, I can attest to the success they have in providing an educational experience that can not be matched by the Public School System. It is rigorous and requires students do the work. Success at Pinecrest is dependent on what students and parents put in. Infinite Campus is updated and I appreciate being able to see what they are working on and when they will be assessed. It helps me keep track of my kids assignments and provide guidance as needed. If your student needs help,just ask. They have a system of support that is very student centered. The school is modern and progressive. They expose students to the technological advances needed to prepare them to be competitive as they enter college and workforce. Additionally they frequently have Guest Speakers, various Community Organizations, Events (very active PTA), Field Trips, all coveted opportunities that gives students exposure to every thing from Entrepreneurship, Career Exploration,The Arts, Community Building the list goes on. The programs for Middle School and extracurricular activities offered are top tier in my opinion. I am supper excited by the addition of the High School Career and College Tracks offered to the students. Pinecrest covering the majority of associated cost. Leaving High School with a Diploma, Certification or degree/ credits is a valuable opportunity. The Bad As Pinecrest has expanded there has been a very noticeable change in negative student behaviors. Bullying, Racism, and Mental Healthl issues have marred the appeal of the school. These issues in my experiences unfortunately have not been limited to students. However, when I've reached out I have almost immediately response and have recieved swift action. Once again, parental involvement is needed in addressing these issues and proactively seeking meaningful resolutions. I also feel Pinecrest needs to revamp how they set and enforce expectations when it comes to behavior. Most students there appreciate all that the achool offers. They come in ready to learn and engage in all the benefits the school provides. However, there are some that disrespect the learning environment continuously contributing little to the overall environment of the school. This is simply not acceptable. It does not go with the core values and goals of the school. More needs to be done to support the teachers in the classroom so that they can teach without distractions. Overall, our time at Pinecrest Cadence has been good. While like any other school there are issues, the overall value provided is still exceptional. I hope that as the school continues to grow they continue putting student success at the healm. Creating an environment where all students feel seen and valued.

I have known parents who have sent their kids here and have had a good experience (for the most part). We are into the second week of the new school year & I am already unenrolling my child because we found a new school that was a better fit socially and academically. Please do not send your child here if they require any kind of assistance. To start the IEP teacher reached out to me before the school year to set up a meeting with is standard and missed both of our meetings, didn't return my emails for weeks. The school did not provide my child the accommodations as outlined in their IEP, which is against the law. Moving forward, they refused to provide an elective aside from study hall because they claimed they were at capacity with every other elective. My child got dress coded twice in the first week. Once for a skirt that was in their section at the uniform store 2nd because her skirt had buttons on it and it wasn't a plain khaki skirt in their words. Upon arriving to the open house and explaining to the teacher the accommodations outlined in the IEP the teacher stated that she wasn't allowed to use her accommodations in her room because she shouldn't have to explain to the other kids why my child was so special. The school had a food truck outside during their lunch break and refused to provide my child and my child's friend anything because they said and I quote "they didn't look underprivileged" what does under privileged look like? The best way I can describe this school is like a military school, which is extremely disheartening because we were excited about becoming a part of the Pinecrest family. If your child has an IEP or requires learning environment that fosters their needs, DO NOT send your child here! The only reason I gave them a one star is because I couldn't give them a zero and make this review. It is our job's as parents to fight for our children's education to ensure that they are being met with all of the tools that they need to be successful. This school discriminate against anybody who is different. Please read all of the reviews before making your decision. Start with the one stars and work your way up if all of them have the same common theme it's safe to say they're the problem!

My son is in first grade and he's currently reading at a Second grade level most likely by the end of the year he will be able to read a third-grade level. If one of your major concerns is the school systems in Nevada I would definitely recommend Pinecrest Academy. They have multiple campuses know and are opening up a high school. Today was the honors assembly and I would say about half of the k-2 received the award.

Special education teacher is full of excuses and can't handle special ed kids period. I don't think they've had children with severe autism and it shows. I want to start by saying this daycare seemed very promising, but after five months with our…read moredaughter, we lost confidence in the care she was receiving. One of the first concerns happened when I picked her up and was told she had a diaper rash. The staff said Aquaphor wasn't working, so they used one of their own sprays instead. My response was, "Why aren't you using the Desitin we provided, clearly labeled with her name and accompanied by a doctor's note instructing you to use it?" They apologized and assured us they would use it going forward. This immediately raised concerns about attention to care, especially since diaper products should never be shared between children due to the risk of spreading illnesses like Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD). On June 18, after a week at home with us, we dropped our daughter off and informed staff she had drool bumps on her chin because she was cutting two teeth at once. Later that day, we received a call saying she had a temperature of 99.4°F and was being sent home for suspected HFMD because she supposedly had bumps around her mouth, in her mouth, and in her diaper area. The "bumps" around her mouth were the same drool rash we had pointed out that morning, and they nearly disappeared after simply wiping her chin dry. She had no bumps in her diaper area and no mouth lesions. The next morning, her pediatrician examined her, laughed at the assessment, said she had absolutely no signs of HFMD, and cleared her to return. We met with the Director and Assistant Director to explain what happened. The Assistant Director admitted she hadn't been told about the drool rash or teething before making the assessment. We also brought up the earlier diaper cream incident and explained how concerning it was that our daughter's prescribed cream wasn't being used while they were quick to send children home over concerns about HFMD. We were assured these issues would be addressed. Then, in July, our daughter actually contracted HFMD. She had the classic symptoms: fever followed by lesions around her mouth, in her mouth, and on her hands and feet. We kept her home through her recovery, and once her pediatrician confirmed she was no longer contagious, we received another signed clearance note allowing her to return. The doctor also prescribed antibiotics for a mild ear infection, and we informed the daycare that the antibiotics could cause loose stools and diaper rash, asking them to apply her diaper cream accordingly. The first day back went well. However, the following morning, just one hour after dropping her off, I received another call telling me she was being sent home for suspected HFMD. They pointed to healed red marks under her chin from the previous infection, a small red mark on her finger that she's had since birth, and claimed her diaper area would "shock" me. When I got home and checked, she simply had a diaper rash from the antibiotic-related loose stools. There were no blisters, lesions, or signs of HFMD. Even more concerning, there was absolutely no evidence that her prescribed Desitin had been applied despite the daycare describing the rash as severe. Anyone who uses Desitin knows it leaves a visible white residue, and there was none. We took her back to the pediatrician, who again confirmed she had no signs of HFMD and again questioned whether the daycare was confusing her with another child. At that point, we decided to withdraw our daughter. As I packed up her belongings, one of the workers ran over laughing and said, "Can't forget this!" while handing me the nearly full tube of diaper cream. After five months, it looked like it had only been used a couple of times, despite multiple conversations, a doctor's note, and repeated reminders. I can't speak to the rest of the school, but our experience in the Angel's classroom left us extremely disappointed. We experienced repeated misdiagnoses that resulted in unnecessary doctor visits and missed work, along with repeated failures to follow a simple doctor's order to use our daughter's assigned diaper cream. For us, those issues reflected a lack of attention to detail and consistency that we simply could not overlook.

As someone who also attended grade school in Las Vegas, this is easily one of the best institutions in Nevada. The teachers, administrators, and school culture are extremely kind, professional, and knowledgable of the Montessori way. When my daughter was struggling, there was an entire team ready and available to create an academic support plan to meet her where she needed to be met. It worked! Thanks to the schools diligence, communication, and teamwork, she was able to show immense improvement in very little time. Ms. Dana, Ms. Rosie, Ms. Adrian, and Ms. Marion ... I mean I could just go on about the community here, parents included! We feel so safe dropping her off in the hands of such incredible people. Highly recommend!
