Both of my children attend this beautiful brand new elementary school and we love it! It's two story, very clean, elevator, new teachers.

Now that my children are transitioning to different schools, I believe it's the right time to share…read moremy thoughts through a review, as I've been quite vocal about our experience this year. First and foremost, I must acknowledge that many of the teachers we encountered were excellent. However, as we reached the higher grade levels, we encountered some difficulties in communication with certain teachers. In my opinion, fostering effective communication and building strong teacher-student-parent relationships are crucial for academic success, and this is an area where this school fell short. The second area of concern was the administration. While the executive director of CASLV was responsive and easy to communicate with, there was a lack of proactive action that would have benefited students and families. The immediate administrative staff was practically absent, and their lack of initiative left the school in a less than desirable state. CASLV may appear impressive in their advertisements, but the reality becomes apparent once your child is enrolled. Throughout the year, there were recurring behavioral issues that the school and administration attributed to being a new campus, despite the fact that it was not a new educational system. While my son had positive experiences with his teachers, which was undoubtedly the best aspect of the school, my middle schooler struggled to thrive. As a result, I made the decision to enroll her in Nevada Virtual Learning Academy, where teachers were readily accessible to both students and parents. She excelled in that environment. There has always been an air of secrecy surrounding CASLV. Some of the office staff treated parents as though they were an inconvenience. If one cannot maintain a positive demeanor and be the welcoming face of the school as the initial point of contact, then that individual may not be suitable for the role. I strongly encourage considering the type of experience you desire for your children, including relationships with staff and administration, accessibility to teachers and administrators, as well as the curriculum and extracurricular activities. Also, as a STEM school, I didn't feel like it had any advantage to other schools -- what they offer is the norm for all schools today. For my family, CASLV Cadence fell short in meeting our expectations.

My brother has attended this school for over a year, and the experience has been consistently…read moredisappointing and deeply concerning. He is a special needs student with ADHD, autism, and a speech impediment, and this school routinely ignores his IEP. That alone should be a red flag for any parent considering enrollment. Beyond that, the bullying and harassment he faces from other students is relentless. When he reports it to the teachers, nothing happens. Yet somehow, my brother is constantly the one being punished and reprimanded, often for behavior he denies, and that I personally witness other students doing every single day without any consequence. The double standard is impossible to ignore. Other kids push, curse, and act out constantly, but my brother is always the one made out to be the problem. One teacher in particular, Miss Willingham, has handled my brother's case in ways that are deeply troubling. She removed my brother from tutoring based solely on the word of other students for behavior she never personally witnessed and that my brother also denies. That is not discipline, that is bias against a child who already struggles to advocate for himself due to his speech impediment. She has also had my brother suspended over a comment he made in a Google chat. It's truly disappointing as well as in a way, pathetic for a grown adult educator to respond by having a child suspended over a comment which is a profound misuse of authority. This woman felt so threatened by a child's frustrated comment in a chat that she escalated it to a suspension, especially a special needs child who already struggles to communicate. This is not only disproportionate, it's retaliatory, and it feels like she used her position to punish him. I pick my brother up from school nearly every day, so I see firsthand how these students behave as well as the fact that there is barely any adult supervision or surveillance there to monitor and course correct behavior. The language and conduct is appalling for any age group, and this school spans elementary through high school, meaning younger kids are constantly exposed to the behavior of older students. An elementary school-aged child literally called me a "stupid whore" on the Friday, right before their spring break. That is the culture this administration has allowed to fester. XI had reported it and asked that there be more staff positioned outside when the students were released at the end of the day but there haven't been any as of weeks and weeks later. Reports have been made. Nothing ever changes or is resolved, really. This school has failed my brother at every level. He dreads going every single day. If you are considering enrolling your child here, especially the child with special needs, please look elsewhere. This is not the school for your child.

Great school. My son has been going for 2 years now. They are trying to set the bar for Nevada…read morewhich we definitely need considering were third from the bottom in the nation. Pinecrest is determined to overachieve in academics. My son is in first grade and he's currently reading at a Second grade level most likely by the end of the year he will be able to read a third-grade level. If one of your major concerns is the school systems in Nevada I would definitely recommend Pinecrest Academy. They have multiple campuses know and are opening up a high school. Today was the honors assembly and I would say about half of the k-2 received the award.

It's not a religious school, for some weird reason some classes get recorded when they're doing the pledge (again, I don't know why or surpiringsly how.) And every day they have teacher awards. The MPR is really big, I think it's about 10-11 inches and normal MPRs I think are like 8-9 inches, final thing they have 2 playgrounds one is really small (Recess Playground) and a huge playground that reaches 20 inches (I think, that we play at Lunch Recess) There are a few good teachers, but I didn't like Ms. Gardner a first grade teacher if she still works here, she was a teenager but now I suspect she is a young adult but so yeah, it's a great school!

So it's been a while since my initial review, and there have been changes many amazing, some…read moredisheartening . I now have children in the Elementary and one entering the High School. The Good Pinecrest still provides an exceptional academic program. I've had very open and transparent interaction with teachers and staff (family oriented). Looking at the schools data/ scores and the progress of my own children, I can attest to the success they have in providing an educational experience that can not be matched by the Public School System. It is rigorous and requires students do the work. Success at Pinecrest is dependent on what students and parents put in. Infinite Campus is updated and I appreciate being able to see what they are working on and when they will be assessed. It helps me keep track of my kids assignments and provide guidance as needed. If your student needs help, just ask. They have a system of support that is very student centered. The school is modern and progressive. They expose students to the technological advances needed to prepare them to be competitive as they enter college and workforce. Additionally they frequently have Guest Speakers, various Community Organizations, Events (very active PTA), Field Trips, all coveted opportunities that gives students exposure to every thing from Entrepreneurship, Career Exploration,The Arts, Community Building the list goes on. The programs for Middle School and extracurricular activities offered are top tier in my opinion. I am supper excited by the addition of the High School Career and College Tracks offered to the students. Pinecrest covering the majority of associated cost. Leaving High School with a Diploma, Certification or degree/ credits is a valuable opportunity. The Bad As Pinecrest has expanded there has been a very noticeable change in negative student behaviors. Bullying, Racism, and Mental Healthl issues have marred the appeal of the school. These issues in my experiences unfortunately have not been limited to students. However, when I've reached out I have almost immediately response and have recieved swift action. Once again, parental involvement is needed in addressing these issues and proactively seeking meaningful resolutions. I also feel Pinecrest needs to revamp how they set and enforce expectations when it comes to behavior. Most students there appreciate all that the achool offers. They come in ready to learn and engage in all the benefits the school provides. However, there are some that disrespect the learning environment continuously contributing little to the overall environment of the school. This is simply not acceptable. It does not go with the core values and goals of the school. More needs to be done to support the teachers in the classroom so that they can teach without distractions. Overall, our time at Pinecrest Cadence has been good. While like any other school there are issues, the overall value provided is still exceptional. I hope that as the school continues to grow they continue putting student success at the healm. Creating an environment where all students feel seen and valued.

This is a bottom of the barrel school. This school accepts anyone and everyone. The word is out -…read moreso the very worst of the worst are here now. If your child is a good student, DO NOT PUT THEM HERE! The teachers are busy dealing with the worst of the worst kids so your child will NOT get the attention needed to thrive. If your child is a thug or stupid, this is the perfect place. Your child will be rushed through and receive a diploma and sent to the next grade, completely unprepared for it. They will graduate high school without being able to read or write - but they will have a diploma! Imagine their future success in college, where grades do matter and being able to read is a requirement! Admin is aware of this - but they simply do not care. They just want full classes so they can get that sweet sweet government education money! AVOID THIS SCHOOL like the plague it is. It used to be great - but admin has driven it into the ground. The teachers do not have the tools to deal with entitled students and their entitled parents. If you are one of them and simply expect your child to get a diploma and be babysat all day, then this is the place for you. If you want a better life for your child and a bright future - STAY FAR AWAY from here!

I never dreamed I would post such a statement. But the mama bear in me cannot handle her children…read moreand or grandchildren being abused and humiliated. My granddaughter is an excellent student. She passed all her tests and she had a half credit missing on her grades. See did pass the eighth grade, and with the exception of that half credit which she was going to work on during summer school. That was the only thing that was missing from her school curriculum. I must note that she lost her father due to a sudden illness. And this of course, has affected her in a great way. She is the sweetest and kindest and most helpful young lady that you would ever want to meet. All of her teachers liked her and probably even loved her. As I stated, she did pass her tests and made A's on all of her tests. But because of that one measly half credit, the principal and whoever else made the decision that she would not be able to walk across the platform to receive her eighth grade diploma, even though she had earned it. My daughter went and talked to the principal, and he, of course, was rude, stern, and in no way compassionate about her situation. There was no caring or sympathy on his part and probably some of the other teachers as well. I'm not sure about that. But I am sure about what the principal said, not only to my daughter, but my granddaughter as well. My granddaughter was not the only one in the eighth grade class who was not allowed to walk across the stage and receive her diploma, even though she had earned it. With the death of her father, and also the recent death of her grandfather, you would think there would be some understanding and compassion for a young lady. So, not only was the principal mean and uncaring to both of my girls. But whoever was in charge of the walking across the stage, part of the graduation thought it would be appropriate to single out those who were not going to be able to walk across the stage. All the eighth graders were in a room, and this woman called all of the students who were not walking out and made them go to the other side of the room and stand there and watch while the other children were able to do what they all should have been able to do. I am so disappointed and so hurt and my granddaughter was heartbroken and humiliated. How dare you? In the past I have heard stories about this Legacy school program that were not so flattering. But now, this lack of empathy and caring towards the students has been made abundantly clear. I will never ever recommend Legacy to anyone. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I have heard of other schools that showed compassion for their students that had not even passed their grade. But at least they were allowed to walk across the stage so that they could have that happy memory of their time at the school. You have taken this away from my granddaughter. Her memories of your school will be the humiliation that you gave to her on her last week of school. I guess after so many years of being in the education business, your hearts have hardened against anyone who is in genuine need of your kindness and compassion. Again, you ruined her eighth grade experience with your cruelty and cold attitude and turned it into a nightmare. The sad part is that I'm sure that she is not the only one that has received this type of behavior from your school. And she probably won't be the last.. You need to re-examine your treatment of your students. There is always room for kindness, especially in this type of a situation, but apparently Legacy has forgotten that concept. You need to look inside your own hearts and decide if you would want your child treated the way you have treated my granddaughter and probably others as well. This is a black mark on her eighth grade experience. It can't be fixed and it will not be forgotten..

My 3rd grade son has been bullied since day one of 3rd grade, actually, since 2nd grade by the same child, as well as others. I contact the teacher regularly and she has told me that he's met with the counselors and principal and issues are resolved. Why is my son coming home daily begging to be homeschooled and crying because of another mean child? I have not once been called by anyone at the school regarding my sons behavior. If he is involved in any form of bullying, I want to know! I stopped in the office today to talk and raised my voice to show the importance of this issue to me and the vice principal and principal kicked me out, not caring to hear anything about what's going on. This is why children kill themselves....BECAUSE THEY CARE MORE ABOUT THE RAINFOREST AND TEST SCORES THAN THE WELL BEING OF THE CHILDREN!!!! Last week a child told him their life would be better if he were dead! I've told the teacher in an email and a very long phone conversation that my child is dealing with a death in the family and the separation of his parents so he's going through a lot. Nothing is being done! This school has become a nightmare.
