Unfortunately, every app gets worse..I was already skeptical while making an app because the receptionist always have an attitude & now they are charging an additional $40 to check your eye health when this previously was included? I'm not understanding the difference in then and now except maybe they are looking to tact on any additional fees since they were closed due to covid & MORE THAN LIKELY RECEIVED PAYMENT PROTECTION LOAN. Anywho I still scheduled my app which was a month out... (always) the day of the app comes and they text saying I need to reschedule & it will be another month. Dropping to 2 stars, Dr. Frederick got caught up with another patient for about an hour after dilating my eyes for examination, and then seemed to rush me through the rest of my exam. As their practice has grown, they seem to have less time for care once the initial diagnostics are completed. While I was waiting an hour with dilated eyes for the doctor to return, the technicians were chatting it up just outside the door. Sounded like they needed something to do. The receptionists at the Front Desk are indifferent, pre-occupied, just another job, though they are very helpful at taking payments over the phone. I receive exponentially better service for a chicken biscuit. Wish there was a Customer Advocate to ensure the best care is provided at the most competitive price. The surprise charges after the appointment are getting old and Chesterfield is inflexible to consider a compromise. Also, my initial appointment was about 2 months out. I had to keep calling back to see if there was a cancellation for an earlier appointment. I requested a list of other optometrists that they would consider a competition to their practice for future care. After many years at COC, it seems like time to consider a change!! read more

Took my son of 5 there for his inaugural visit to an eye doctor, what.a treat! I wanted to schedule a Saturday appointment, since Dr. Visits were eating into my work week. It was about a month out to schedule. The exam was about 50/50 between Dr. Pinsky and the assistants.The entire team did a thorough job. Dr. Pinsky did her best in dealing with my son, although I noted stress in her voice at different points. The glass selection was pretty good for kids. We certainly were able to find a pair that complemented my son's face. Not positive she is the best choice out there for kids, but she certainly wasn't bad and I would most definately recommend her for adult examinations! read more

Dr. Pinsky's great. I've been going to her for at least 6 years and I'm very happy with my experience with this office. For the most part, the staff is professional and friendly (with the exception of one girl in the front with dark hair). Dr. Pinsky knows what she's doing is always abreast of new technological developments. She gets in the latest equipment whenever she can. Very thorough in examinations. Only reason I'm being nice and giving it 3 stars is because the male tech and Dr. Giulietti were as nice and friendly as could be!! The receptionist at the front desk with the medium length hair with blond highlights was so rude and obnoxious!!!! Very poor Customer Service!! Epic fail. ZERO TOLERANCE - 0815 appointment on 05FEB, however I was going to be 10min late. I called at 0806, (allegedly they open at 0800), reception did not answer. Left a message advising I was going to be a few minutes late. Did not receive a call back. Arrived at 0825, receptionist advised the appointment was at 0815 and I'd be required to reschedule. I did drive 80 miles one way to this optometrist. End of conversation. Lost income opportunity for these highly educated individuals due to, perceived, incompetent (couldn't be troubled to call back?) support staff. read more

I went to have exam on jan 19th 2021 i had called to ask my copay as i have vhs insurance an no one called me when i got to my appointment was told it was $15 dollars i had told them i did not was my eyes dilated as i was driving. When they saw i also have Medicare an Medicaid they took it as they could turn it into a medical appointment an when i went to check out they said its $50 dollars i was not happy as all i had was the $15 my daughter had to pay for it an that is unfair an i am never going back here. Be careful if you do. They will over charge you. read more

Online appointment did not work, unable to bill insurance correctly, until I contacted insurance, problem could have been avoided by looking at my patient history. Third strike, they found an additional fee to charge me, not covered by insurance. Doctors may by ok, but I didn't get that far, incompetent procedures and front/billing office kept me from taking the chance. read more

I was in Richmond visiting family and saw Dr. DeHoff for an emergency eye appointment for a possible double-eye infection. I called at 9am and was seen at 12:30pm. There was hardly a wait and the doctor was very prompt in her exam. I'm giving them 5 stars because I had absolutely no trouble with them whatsoever and they were all very friendly and professional. The front staff was friendly and Dr. Hair was really nice. I didn't like having to come back twice after my initial visit - once to pick up my trial pair of contact lenses (they were out during my first visit), then again to evaluate how the lenses did with my eyes. In spite of that, each visit was pleasant. Though I didnt purchase any frames from here, they seemed to have a nice selection and the opticians seem to be very helpful. Those factors, in addition to the fact that this office is conveniently located near my home, make it highly likely that I will return for future check ups. read more

Dr. DeHoff is a fantastic doctor. I have seen her for several years and have taken my kids there for their eye exams. I finally convinced my husband to schedule his appointments with her and he would rate her the same. She is thorough, answers all questions and is great with kids, though mine are older now. The front desk staff is the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. The woman who conducted the testing prior to being seen by the doctor is so sweet and excellent at her job. The selection of glasses frames is fabulous and the optician staff is excellent. They give advice as to styles, and are honest if you've picked something that doesn't look good. They are also helpful in making repairs when my frames have broken. read more

I have went to this eye clinic and the eye doctor's are good and the staff is nice. My problem is I wanted to order a pair of glasses after my eye exam, the girl that was helping me was supposed to order the frames in a certain color for me to try on. When they called and told me they had the frame in I went to try them on but the girl was out. No one was able to help me they couldn't see things in my file. The girl helping me was supposed to call me back, never did, I called back was told they had to talk to her to figure out what was going on and I would get a call back. Well it's been over a month I never did get a call back so I just went to a different Dr.'s office and ordered and have my new pair of glasses. My problem is with billing. They billed my medical insurance instead of my vision insurance, so I have to pay the total bill out of pocket because my medical deductible has not been met for the year. Why am I paying for vision insurance if they will not bill them. I ask them why not bill my vision insurance they said because I have small cataracts so they have to bill my yearly eye exam through my medical insurance. Confused..... read more

They are really good optometrists, but their frames/lenses are outrageously expensive. Your best bet would be to go there for your exam, but get a prescription for your glasses/contacts and go else where where it's cheaper. read more

I'm an older lady on disability, so I live on a fix income. I made an appt. and they stated they take my insurance. I go on for my appt, and the front desk / the Doctor, and the person fitting me for glasses, all told me my eye test was covered but not the glasses. I was Ok with that. When I go to check out, I was told I owe an amount of $80 . I told them everyone told me the eye test was covered, now I owe them a bill I cant afford. Their response to this was, it's ok we will hold your Precription till you pay it off. I get less than $800 a month to live on. I left there in tears, knowing that I had a bill and I dont have the means to pay it. If I had known this, I wouldnt had went for the appt. I would not refer anyone, no one should be treated like this. They also made a mistake had to take another piclure of my eye, because the first picture was not done correctly. I feel this is why my insurance company, isnt covering it. read more

I've been coming here for years. Overall the staff is great, very friendly. Three stars because when I picked my eating glasses up, I could tell my Insurance company cut the lenses. Prior to getting the prescription filled for glasses I called both my Insurance company and the optometry Center to let them know, my Insurance company is not to fill my prescription but they were to do everything in house. I informed them, my Insurance company already approved of them completing everything in house. Needless to say, the moment I put my eating glasses on I had to move my head in every direction trying to find what they refer to as the "sweet spot " in order to see. To me that is crazy!!! I don't have to do this with my other glasses. The technician tried to tell me to put the glasses on in the morning when I first wake up to train my brain. WTHEC???! If that's the case I should be able to train my brain to not need glasses. That "sweet spot" in my new glasses would have my head tilted back, nose in the air while looking down at people...I think not! The technician was Ok with that and joked. These glasses will be going back and let's see if they can train their brain to get it right and follow directions. read more

I might be the exception here, but I had a horrible experience. I give me business to locally, so when I was in need of an eye exam, I decided to give this place a chance. I went in for my appointment and was there for three hours!! I did not make a scene but I was steaming! I was told the doctor is slow, gets to know every aspect of your life and therefore it backs up her appointments. After the three hour eye exam, I went into the eyeglass section and picked out glasses. I have a lot to write, most of it negative. I will spare the details except to say it took 3 tries to get my glasses right, they did not come in when promised, I got my money back and went elsewhere. read more

Pinsky is my least favorite eye doctor in the practice. Everyone else is great. She just doesn't have very good bedside manners. And I once had the first appointment at 8am and she didn't show up for work until almost 8:30. Dr Dehoff is great; Dr. Stacy was great. read more
