I was very pleased with my visit today to Grove Eye Care. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the woman who did my eye tests, to Dr. Deese, was very friendly. I was really interested to see the photos of my eyes, which Dr. Dense explained to me. He assured me that he had no concerns with my eyes and confirmed that he was aligned with my prescription and treatment plan. There was an upcharge for a couple of tests, so my copay was a bit more than I was expecting, but I'm very happy with the thoroughness of my visit, and would recommend Dr. Deese to anyone looking for an eye doctor. read more

Went for first time as a new patient. Got sticker shock when checking out; didn't know and wasn't told the glaucoma test would be another charge unless they dilated your eyes which was covered under my insurance. Also wanted a waiver signed for vehicle tinted window; doctor wouldn't sign off on it because 'of liability issues' and advised me to 'just wear sunglasses'; DUH! As if I already wasn't doing that and still have sensitivity issues. In my opinion, they are too uptight and elusive when asked for something. I wish they were upfront; I told them in advance what I wanted. And got fleeced for my trouble. I will NOT be returning or recommending them. read more

I had a very off putting experience this past week. My Primary Care Doctor suggested I get an eye exam as I hadn't had one in several years. I chose Grove Eye Care because they are right next to my dentist and I was able to get an appointment immediately after my dentist appointment. I did an intake before I saw the doctor and things seemed fine so far. The doctor comes in and doesn't introduce himself by name (which was concerning: you'd think he would say "Hi, I'm Dr So and So" or something) However, he did a very thorough job and took the time to explain my issues with my eyes are. After my exam, I was told to go sit at a desk. It was my belief that I was just going to simply pay my bill and leave. A sales lady came up to the desk and asked what pair of glasses that I wanted. I told her that I was only there for an exam and I'd like to pay my bill and leave. She snapped and said "you will get a call about your bill" and walked me out the door by my arm like I was some sort of war criminal. I waited a couple of days to contact the office to get a copy of my prescription, thinking that I would get a copy through email or something. The receptionist rudely told me that I could get it through the patient portal. It would have been nice to been told about the patient portal during my appointment instead of having to call the office to find out. I could not tell if they had a dyson airblade in the rest room. I doubt that they would have let me in to find out. read more

I decided to give Grove Eye Care another try and it was just not a good visit. The eye techs and the doctors want to get you in and out and do not give a hoot about you. The eye tech was rushing to do all the tests and did not care to slow down and do them right. There is a copay, then there is a $40 fee if you have contacts and then a $39 fee for eye pictures (if you decline, then they have to dilate your eyes). The Dr.Parsons was nice and explained my pictures. My previous experience was horrid as it took about 6 months to get my glasses because they tried to pull a fast one and give me the wrong style of glasses. I'm sure there are better eye offices out there. Won't be back for sure. read more

Having gone without an eye exam for years I didn't really know what to expect. From the time of arrival, I felt like it was going to be a good visit. They have a sign out front for you to call first. This is a part of their Covid safety process. On the phone they confirm your appointment, ask the type of vehicle and say the technician will be out to walk you in. The technician took my temperature with a no contact thermometer and gave me a squirt of hand sanitizer before entering. She explained everything in detail and made sure all prior used equipment was sterilized. She then took photos/scans of my eyes. She then walked me to office where I would see the optometrist. I was met with Dr. Ashley Parsons who was quite delightful from the beginning to end. She asked all the questions about my eyes and issues. She explained the photos of my eyes and what they typically look for. She even told me a funny story. I love a good storyteller. I completed the exam and then came the fun part as she put it...picking glasses lol. They allowed me to try on many pair and they sanitize them before and after. I'm very indecisive but they were patient with me and helped me decide on a great pair of new eyes! I was so happy and pleased with my visit. I would definitely recommend this office to everyone I know. read more

I went for regular eye exam friday afternoon, they didn't have any frames that i liked so i asked for my prescription to go somewhere else, the lady told me no problem. 5 minutes later she came back she said the dr didn't put prescription in the computer. So instead of waiting i left because she said theyll call me shortly to let me know its in the patient portal and ill get all info to log in. 10 minutes after i left i gotta call to pay for visit, so i paid. I called looking for immediate attention for my eye . I explained my issue and they got me in same day. Once I got there and the nurse came in she asked me what have I tried for my eye and I gave her the name of the medication I was already taking . the doctor came in he looked at my eye for 2 seconds pushed down on it and said he will give me an antibiotic but they do not do any type of stye removal which should've been stated when I called.They charged me $91 for him to prescribe the same meds I told them I was taken . They are being very safe during Covid, you can easily check in via their website from your car when you get there and then they call you to bring you in. So, Let me start by saying Dr Kiraly was great. If he worked at a different office I would see him again. The front desk person was polite, also. Here's the issue. They billed my insurance up front, charged me $80 for stuff not covered by insurance, and told me I would owe nothing more. Then months later after my job had changed insurance they started calling to tell me my insurance didn't work anymore and that I owed them money. The only thing I can figure is that they tried to bill me again AFTER the insurance change, and well after I'd seen them. I refuse to pay them a dime more, even though they keep billing me for $60. In addition, they are so spammy with their emails. They send out emails all the time, sometimes multiple emails a day. It's often stuff as unnecessary as "we're closing an hour for lunch today." I go to an eye doctor once a year to get a checkup and get glasses. I'm not going to be there often enough to warrant an update on every little thing they do. I tried to unsubscribe and it didn't work, so I had to block their email address. Then, about a year after my previous appointment, I get a call from the reception desk reminding me I had a scheduled appointment coming up. She gave me a specific date and time and everything, and I definitely hadn't schedule an appointment. I told her as much, and she said their computer automatically schedules patients for annual checkup appointments without their consent. I told her to cancel it. What if I hadn't gotten her call, and didn't show up for the appointment? I'm sure they would have charged me a missed appointment fee. I'm not going to even get into their outrageous pricing for glasses. I'm really disappointed with the way their office is run. I was so happy to have a great eye doctor so close to my job, but after all the mess they've thrown at me since my appointment I won't be returning. It's not worth it. read more

Examination experience was nice but the frame and lens purchasing experience has been nothing but a headache. First pair of frames were riddled with micro cracks which was replaced under warranty but during the replacement my very expensive lenses were cracked.. Covered under warranty but now i get to run around for the next week with cracked lenses. Save yourself time, stress and alot of money and purchase your eyewear elsewhere, i wish i did. read more

The staff are welcoming and efficient as soon as you walk in the door. The diagnostic tools they utilize are state of the art and allow for a very quick and effective set up for the doctor. Dr Neidigh has a very comfortable manner and is attentive to any concerns. My entire appointment took about a half hour because of their efficiency. I arrived on time for my appointment but still waited 20 minutes. They did however let in a delivery driver with lunch so I guess the staff was hungry and that why I got bad service. The young girl that took me into the room talked so fast, I couldn't understand her. It felt rushed. When the doctor came in, he rushed through the exam to make a long story short, I got 2 pair of glasses that don't fit and aren't the right prescription for my eyes. $400+ and not satisfied. Great eye care and friendly people until the billing group gets in the act. There in 8/16 and paid upon departure with understanding insurance would be billed for balance. In 2/17, 6 months later, get a call that there is a past due amount that needs to be paid immediately. Asked about why insurance did not pay and after a long wait on hold was told insurance would be billed and they would advise. A few days later, the past due bill shows up "payable upon receipt", no insurance payment. The next day received info from insurance the full amount was paid. Called and asked why a bill was sent for something that had been paid and was told to ignore the bill nothing further was due. Asked a second time why the bill came and what is going on with the billing group, no comment. Advised this customer treatment is not good for repeat business and they hung up! read more
