Best dental office ever! I recently had to have two crowns replaced, which Dr Jain and her tech assistant, Kristin, teamed up to do. Everything was carefully explained and carried out with painstaking accuracy. The new crowns arrived in a couple of days and and were tried in place several times for fit before the final cementing. The new crowns are better than real teeth! The hygienist, Cheryl, is exacting --- its not a fun procedure, of course---but Cheryl made me feel each tooth as it was being cleaned. She also recommended a new method of flossing which would work better for my very closely spaced teeth. Renee at the front desk greets you with a smile which is a huge plus when entering a dentist's office. I also like the practice's annual dental plan: two appointment for one price, which encourages the 6-month return. Office and waiting areas are super clean, uncluttered and bright. I moved here from Chicago, where my dentist did shoddy cleanings, so I had two appointments (over two weeks) at Chestnut Hill Smiles for a deep cleaning. This is not an easy procedure. It involves a pre-numb, multiple Novocaine shots and then a lot of, um, instruments. The office is cute, homey and clean. Everyone is very friendly. Dr Narang is soft spoken and considerate. She answered my questions and constantly checked on my comfort level. SHE did the work (not a hygienist). Even though my mouth was numb, she didn't hack away or rush through. She was cautious and thorough. Amazingly, after the numbness wore off, I had virtually NO DISCOMFORT. For me, that's the strongest testament to both her skill and her patient attentiveness. The only reason they don't get five stars is because they emailed me to confirm my appointment, which I did. The next day, they sent a txt asking me to confirm, which I did. The next day they phoned, asking me to confirm, which I did. The next day they sent me a text reminder. It seems like those initial confirmations aren't making it to the office. Regardless, I highly recommend Dr Narang and CHS. I am thrilled I found such an excellent, diligent dentist to use for years to come. read more

I have really bad dentist anxiety and I had a very good experience with Dr. Jain. Her staff is very cordial and professional. Dr. Jain was very thorough and understanding about my own anxieties. She was willing to look at whatever concerned me without being dismissive. Dr. Jain also made sure I was comfortable and okay when I was getting a cavity filled. She constantly checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay. I highly recommend Dr. Jain for your dental needs! read more

This was by far my best dental experience as an adult. What made it even more special was the child friendly staff that went above and beyond accommodating me and my daughter for our checkup. Dr. Jain is fantastic, her hygienists are great, but her office staff is inept. Couldn't successfully submit claims without my help, and unresponsive to phone messages. After looking at reviews I see that the issue with billing is ubiquitous, regardless of the Provider, which reinforces my concern with the practices choice in front office staffing. I've been there over a year, thinking that once familiar with my particular plan and submission process the billing would improve, but it has not. As a result I'll unfortunately be looking for a new dentist. read more

She may not always have the best bedside manner or give fantastic first impressions but once you get to know her you will learn she is incredibly sweet and caring..with a side of sass. I didn't even get to go to my appointments and my experience was horrible. The women behind the desk is lazy and inexperienced. My dental records needed to be requested by the new dental office and she sent in a request but never received my dental work. She never followed up with me or the old dental office so I had no idea my information wasn't in until I asked her the work that needed to be done. Also, I can only do Saturday appointments due to my work schedule so I booked two appointments for two Saturdays in January. I get a call today because she needs to cancel both appointments for undisclosed reasons and that I cannot be seen until February. They are only opened every other Saturday and they had to cancel my appointments?! That's ridiculous, and I really hope this office closes down so maybe the neighborhood can get a more reliable office in its place. read more

Randomly tried this practice to get a second opinion on some bad work that my long term dentist did. The first dentist that owned this practice was so friendly and even went as far to say that if my insurance gave me issues for the x-rays or my other dentist didn't want to fix his mistakes, she was willing to get involved. Me and my family have been patients there ever since. Everyone here makes you feel relaxed, so if you have a fear of dentists like many people do, you'll be at ease here. Dr. Jain, who currently owns the practice, is great-even with impatient and wary toddlers who are going in for first cleanings. The only issue I've encountered consistently is the billing. The bills are always completely jacked up and we end up having to go back and forth to fix them. But that's not the fault of the Dr. and with the level of care that she gives us, the issue is negligible. read more

I had a very good visit, and I would definitely recommend Chestnut Hill Smiles to anyone looking for a dentist. This was my first dental trip since moving to Philadelphia, and I was a little apprehensive as I didn't much care for my previous dentist. However, Dr. Narang was very nice and considerate. The cleaning and x-ray process was quick and efficient. They discovered that one of my fillings from over a decade ago was coming loose and that a significant amount of decay had happened behind it. Dr. Narang used mirrors to show me the decay and offered to fill it that day to save a return trip. The office made sure to calculate what my copay would be before the procedure to allow me to make an informed and un-pressured decision. Parking is street meters, but there are also some pay lots nearby. When the time was running out on my meter, the dental hygienist ran out and fed it for me, which was exceptionally kind. All in all, I'm very happy with my choice of dentist. read more

I gave this place a few chances. I really liked a dentist who is no longer there. I now find I get a different person each time. The hygienist is not a pleasant or gentle person. She made rude comments and complained about random things going on in the world. She just didn't seem to be a happy person and wanted others to know it. The rinse after the cleaning looked like a murder scene. My gums don't bleed but she made them bleed that day. They also have a bad habit of scheduling appointments and then rescheduling or cancelling them close to the appointment day. This has happened at least 5 times. I was looking for a new dentist, so I decided to go to Chestnut Hill Smiles using a $99 Grupon special for an exam, x-ray and cleaning. The first thing that put me off from this practice was the dentist trying to "hard sell" me into buying an invisalign package. I wasn't interested. Second, the dentist told me I had a cavity and recommended that I get fillings. I didn't get fillings and decided to go to another dentist to have a second opinion six months later. The second dentist did not detect any cavities. I was misdiagnosed. At the reception desk there was a box of free samples of mouthwash, floss, etc. I took a little bottle of mouthwash and it was out of date. I will not be returning to CHS. I have found another dentist in the area. read more

While away at school, I needed a cleaning and I decided to try this place. Dr. Jain told me I needed a root canal and had another cavity I needed filled. When I came home a month later my normal dentist said normally you can't tell if you need a root canal until you start cleaning the decay out. Turns out I didn't need a root canal, just an ordinary filling. And I did not even have the second cavity. So if you choose to go here, expect to be diagnosed with things you don't actually have. read more
