Neglected cats They…read morehave a tiny, overcrowded room with tons of cats. The litter boxes were filthy and weren't even filled with enough clean litter to begin with. One cat that I was petting had several mats, with one particularly large one on its back (this can cause skin sores, bleeding, and infection). It's nice that they take them in, but you do actually have to take care of them if you do that. I politely mentioned to the woman at the desk that the cat was matted, and she said "Yeah, that happens," and stared back at me. I asked if she cuts them off. She said yes, when she has someone to help her. I asked if she needed help, and she said no, she would do it later. I then mentioned that the litter boxes were low, and she said, "Well, I have a routine that I keep up with." Clearly, it's neither a routine nor kept up with, since the room is like that every time I go in, even though this store is never busy. This is just the first time I've complained. She then snottily asked me if I had made the donation while I was in there ("since you want to complain so much" being the implication). I replied that I had. It's worth mentioning that no other customers were in the store, as usual, and there were two employees chatting at the desk while I was browsing and visiting the cats, so they definitely had time to check on the cats. Also, the litter boxes should have been filled more to begin with. I have volunteered at and visited various animal shelters and the animals are always in better conditions than this. The same woman was also very unhelpful years ago when I wanted to adopt a cat from there and I ended up getting my cats from a different rescue. The store is also disorganized, overpriced, and poorly lit. It's no wonder that not one, but two other pet stores have opened up in this very small town and attract far more customers. Please treat those cats right!

Animart was aware of this and allowed me to purchase the $2000 puppy anyway. It's one thing to buy an animal knowing that there could be issues; it's a different story when the Pet store has it on pretty solid intel that a customer's dog may very well have problems. It's unethical and irresponsible, among many other adjectives I could use. The breeder's last name is Bontrager, from Wisconsin. I reached out to managers at Animart before my dog turned a year old. She's 11 months now. ( Animart supposedly provides a one-year health guarantee. But that piece of paper means nothing.) Please reach out to me if you want more info, and please consider going elsewhere to adopt a dog; Animart cannot be trusted. I will now be paying at least 10,000 if I want to help my baby.

Cora would make an amazing dog for anyone without kids, not wanting kids and absolutely no pets. None. Issue 1: I was told it was $150 on the phone. At time of adoption I was told $300. My paperwork was clearly sitting in eye view and said $150. After pointing out I was told it was $150 I was charged $150. Issue 2: Our 10 minute dog meet and greet, 10 minutes...(Cora and our dog went well enough, one lunge incident that we thought was playful, damn were we wrong). Issue 3: During the 2 minute sign here, initial all these spots. I didn't even think about this but....if they give and offer 6 weeks free professional classes offered for "reactivity" why haven't they given Cora this class on there own? Issue 4: No where in Cora's profile did it state: -She food guards... -She toy guards... (Paperwork from prior surrender stated this.) -She even crate guards... --- in home our dog couldn't even walk near the crate while she's in it. Snarled, shows teeth, growls, barks, side eyes, snaps at air, lunges. -Shes biten multiple (not 1) young children according to the documents. They're not important things for them to test or disclose up front.*** Issue 5: this baby lost weight in the care of CRHS... She's probably hangry. I clearly just thought, She'll put that back on at my home and dismissed it. Issue 6: only discovered today a week after this review originally posted but this CRHS has a facebook post about Cora that says absolutely NO dogs. This bit of information, I most certainly know they most certainly indeed did steal my money and knew it. *1 Star review because* -The above undisclosed information. -They will not refund (contract) and/or would not pick up Cora and consider my money a donation covering Cora's adoption fees. I gave them both options. -Cora's white ear was disgusting. See photo ****"My precaution: Please do not have kids period or any kind of pet in your home.
