I've been going to this little spot for over two years now and I just won't quit. I'm very picky about who cuts my hair, as my hair is thick and coarse in some spots. I had to switch hairdresses/salons because my lady moved far away. I've been seeing Brian (recommended to me by my friend Claire) every time and have enjoyed every cut. As a new Mom, I don't get a lot of "me time", but going to him for cuts and a blow out is soooo necessary. Brian is extremely knowledgeable and has many years of experience, he gives great tips on hair care -- what to use, how to wash/rinse, how to blow out, etc. He's super friendly, we keep in touch on social media and he always asks about my daughter. The products he recommends and uses on my hair are amazing and I swear by them! Get the Moroccan Oil products, they are amazing, way better than the drugstore stuff. Bonus, they smell great and my Husband absolutely LOVES when I get my cut because I always go home smelling like a Goddess, he can't keep his hands off me.. haha! Highly recommend this spot! My review is based off of my experience with Brian doing my hair. I orginally bought a Groupon and that's how I stumbled across this salon and Brian. He did such a great job the first time that I have came back to him continuously, and have been very happy each time. The last time I came to Brian, I wanted something different. I explained to him what I wanted, and he honestly gave me his opinion. In the end I couldn't decide on what I wanted and he offered to make the decision for me. He did a beautiful color job with some highlights throughout the front. Something I probably wouldn't have thought of. It came out beautiful and I have gotten so many compliments on it! Based on the great reviews of this salon, I purchased a groupon for a haircut and deep conditioning treatment for $39, original cost $95. I called and scheduled an appointment with Selam (no one else was available) and also made sure to mention that I had a groupon. She sort of hesitated at the fact that I bought a groupon but more on that later. I had been growing my hair out for my wedding which is in August of 2016 and it was down to my lower back. I just needed a small trim and a deep conditioning to keep it looking healthy. I let her know all of this and she ended up taking off 6 inches! Now my hair lays at my mid chest... Then she had the audacity to ask me how much my wedding was going to cost. I gave her a vague response such as weddings are typically expensive but she wanted an exact number which made me really uncomfortable. She then proceeded to tell me that I should not have purchased a groupon because she only gets ten percent of it: $3.90. Awkward. I fully intended on tipping her based on the original cost which is normal etiquette but based on my experience I feel like I paid her to literally chop of my hair which had taken 5 years to grow out and for her to chastise me for being cheap and buying a groupon. From what I understand, businesses use groupons to get new clients. But I guess in this case you get what you pay for. I'll never buy a groupon to try out new places again nor will I ever be returning to this salon. read more

I had a cut and color last week and they did a great job, the color looks natural but rich and Selam did a great job with the cut. SOO many places see long hair and think it's fine to cut 3 inches when you only ask for 1 inch but Selam did as I asked and cut 1 inch! I love it, great service, I'll be back. read more

I stumbled upon the salon after moving back from NYC, and I've been going back ever since. The price is a steal! I had purchased a Groupon on line to treat my self for a new hair color and style, I tried scheduling an appointment, left several voice messages also called several times after that, no one answering at all, I can't see how they can stay in business when they don't return a potential customers phone call, sorry but that's bad business on their part. This salon is a hidden gem!! We have been clients of Nabil for years and we have followed him throughout the start of his career. He is extremely talented and I'm so lucky to have found him! Nabil is wonderful at coloring, hair cuts and blow drys. He treats all clients with his full attention. I always look forward to my visits and fully trust him with all of my hair care. I went in because my hair was looking pretty brassy. I told the girl whose name is Selam that I wanted to be BLONDE but I understood she had to add some low lights to get rid of the brassy tones. When she was done my hair was very orange and she told me I was "crazy" and it was "my eyes". I've never had a stylist talk to me like that. Thank god for the owner being right there and telling her to put a toner on my hair. I paid $100 and was not pleased at all when I left that place. My hair is much darker than its ever been now and I am going to add highlights at a different salon today. I honestly didn't say anything when I left because of how rude Selam was and I didn't wanna keep talking to her. The only reason I gave them 2 stars and not 1 is because of the owner being so kind. read more

I went from long to short and walked out of there with a fun, sassy, sexy new cut and color by Brian! Brian is the best- he listens, he is thoughtful with his suggestions/input and he takes his time to make sure the cut is perfect. A stylist that listens and takes his time to get it right- hard to imagine huh?! Go see Brian, you won't be let down. I am new to the area and came into cheveu maxim salon during my work day. Nabil greeted me as I walked in and was already busy with two other clients but took the time to speak with me. I just have to say that his work ethic and customer service are incredible. Nabil does excellent color, extension work as well as hair cuts.
