    Gas price 12/27/23 omg

This review would be a 0, if I could. Avoid this place if you can they have a really really high insane gas prices compared to the Arco that is right next to it. Not only is it really high price it pumps ridiculously slow as well. The bathroom is only for customers only and the bathrooms are filthy and disgusting, toilet paper, so thin it rips as your ripping it. Hella rude people here. Just avoid if you can. We were making our run from Palmdale to Northern California. Another reason not to go here. If you have any of your savings that you get with Chevron, you can't get it here cause they don't have it set it up. No rewards point.

    Expired brick hard cupcakes

Went in just now and got some cupcakes for my kid. When i opened them they were like bricks! Checked the expiration date and sure enough they have been expired since July 30, 2025 !!! Called the store to tell them about the cupcake situation and cashier answered and clicked on me as soon as I told him about the situation. The name on the receipt is Sukh , so im sure thats who I spoke to as it has been just 15 min we left the store

I was returning back to the OC from a BART (Bay Area Road Trip), which I generally made about every 3-4 months and by chance, have been to this particular Chevron a few times. As many fellow yelp*ers have mentioned, you're not going to find the best gas rates here... 'After all, if you're stopping in the middle of nowhere, to fill up the tank, they're gonna charge you the "Bend yo' @ss over that barrel," prices. My tank was a little less than ¼ and that's the only reason I stopped as probably 90% of the other travelers did too... 'And this lone station out here on the 5 FWY, knows it. I generally don't make too many stops on the drive unless I have my dog, HAPA, with me such as this particular trip. My stops usually range between 15-20 minutes, then right back on the 5 FWY. (This stop was no different.) Inside the convenience mart - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chevron-bakersfield-5?select=QwSWDl_Q_sq_4gYOWgSlTQ#QwSWDl_Q_sq_4gYOWgSlTQ This Chevron had a wide selection of snacks, drinks, junk food, car oil, and whole bunch of other random crap that no one would ever need on a drive... It was like a convenience mart and a flea market had a child that no one talked about. After all, who the hell stops in the middle of nowhere to get gas, use the restroom and on the way out goes, "Hey, I need this kitschy, ceramic bust of a wolf!... I've been looking all over for this!!" "I gotta have this!" - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chevron-bakersfield-5?select=2--seolSWiaMttJEfN3ltQ#ZC5IOqg995UnmVf9rwIZ-Q The bathroom was okay, nothing that stood out from your average gas station restroom. It wasn't like one you might find at a 5 Star Michelin restaurant but it didn't look like the gorilla exhibit @ the zoo either. It was your stinky @ss, don't touch anything w/your bare hands, good ol', roadside crapper... 'The norm. However, if you're ever making that 5 FWY drive and want to use one of the nicest restrooms you'll ever find on the road, look no further. Harris Ranch (Coalinga): http://www.yelp.com/biz/harris-ranch-inn-and-restaurant-coalinga One of the yelp*views mentioned flies all over the place which I didn't see too many of... I finished fueling up, took the HAPA for a potty break & we were back on the road. **IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP HERE FOR GAS, DON'T - Photo - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chevron-bakersfield-5?select=2--seolSWiaMttJEfN3ltQ#KTU_C1KApBAEMbIa8aRvZA If you don't have to stop here, get gas someplace else... Preferably in an area with other competing stations and not THE ONLY ONE around to fill up the tank because chances are, the prices are going to be a bit higher than not. However, if you have to stop here, "Brace yourself... 'And think of a happy place." - Aloha! Food: n/a Ambiance: 3 Service: 3 Value: 2+

Half the pumps are out of order and the rest require you to pay indoors. Don't waste your time. Also expensive!

Gross ladies room. Stifling hot. Flies everywhere. Pee all over the floor. No cleanup for what looked like hours if not a day. No liners.

Was kinda sad and surprised to see the low reviews for this station or any review really but alas…read morehere I am writing my first gas/charging station review. Seriously, I don't make a habit of reviewing gas stations, usually there isn't much to say except the negatives we are all fully aware of and could possible make you dry heave. And Tesla charging stations, what can you say about that would give any type of insight and let's face it, these days I rather not even talk about Teslas except to say ours are vintage, 2021! Why am I leaving a 6 star review? To compliment the lovely cashiers at the station, they were so warm and funny. The place IS clean, food options for fast food and even a seating area inside of you have your own food to eat or want to get out of your car and sit someplace to catch up on stuff. So yeah, should you need anything gas, food, snack, tesla, a massive assortment of lottery scratchers, or just meet the nice cashiers...this is the place to stop at Taft for all those things. Now this will be my first and last review of this kind ever! Unless I see Elvis and Tupac together arguing about who is treating who for a bottle of Mountain Dew or something.

Maybe 1 Star... I'm Still Recovering…read more As I was walking into Sully's on Ming, the one combined with Smith's Bakery, I overheard the manager talking to the cashier about a really nice review they had recently received online. They were talking about how professionally written it was and how excited they were about it. Naturally, I decided I needed to restore balance to the universe. I jokingly told the staff, "Well, I'm going online right now and giving you guys a ONE-STAR review. Because, as the Jedi always say, there must be balance in the Force." The staff behind the counter got a really good laugh out of that. Unfortunately, that's when things took a turn. The manager looked me dead in the eyes. I looked at her. She looked at me. And then... WE FOUGHT. What started as a simple joke about a one-star review immediately escalated into what can only be described as the most epic battle Sully's on Ming has ever witnessed. She unleashed her ancient Kung Fu powers. I attempted to defend myself using the only martial-arts technique I knew: panic. She hit me with a spinning back kick. I countered with the legendary "I'm Just Here to Buy Something" maneuver. She jumped over the counter. I dove behind the bakery section. Flour was flying. Chairs were flipping. Someone yelled, "NOT THE MUFFINS!" At one point, I swear I saw the spirit of Bruce Lee appear in the reflection of the freezer door and quietly shake his head at both of us. The battle raged on for what felt like seven seasons of an anime. Eventually, bruised, exhausted, and questioning every decision that had led me to this moment, I managed to escape with my life. But more importantly... I STILL WROTE THE REVIEW. And after everything I have been through, I have come to one undeniable conclusion: Five stars. Or maybe one star. Honestly, I'm not sure. The manager might have actually won. P.S. In all seriousness, the store team has always treated me professionally and respectfully every time I come in, whether I'm dressed for the office or dressed like I randomly decided to go play basketball on a weekday. Great facility, great team, and the bathrooms are always very clean. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and the store. Five stars... a.k.a. maybe one star. She might've actually beat me up.

On this most recent trip, I grabbed some Smith's smiley face cookies while putting some air in my tires. The perfect treat to reward myself for being a responsible motorist. Getting air was easy. Air is free at any California gas station and the Sully's staff were super nice when I asked them to turn on the air machine. The machine provided me with ample time to get all four tires to the right psi, and the parking spot makes it easy to reach all four tires with the hose. Though the lighting at the air pump parking spot can be a little tough at night, so I would recommend going in the day time for both visibility and safety reasons.

If you're like me and go to Sully's more than grocery stores then you definitely need to get on their rewards system, the process is pretty easy. They give you a card and you can register it with your cellphone so you can just punch in your cellphone number when you check out and instant discount. I love the gas stations that sell all products from local businesses. I think it's important to support our local stores because they are what makes our communities. They have all the goodies here!!! They have tons of small vendors and big shops like Smith's Bakery and Dewar's. I have even ordered a Smith's Bakery cake here before and that's super convenient for me because the next closest Smith's Bakery sells out quick. If you haven't ever visited a Sully's in town, you should check it out. You can pretty much find anything you're looking for here. I went to CVS, Coffee Rd to get a thyroid medication. The line was exceedingly long and it was slow, so, I thought I would try the CVS at 11300 Ming Ave near my sister's house for this new prescription for an antbiotic, Augmentin. I called to make sure my out of state doctor could call it in to that number. He was on vacation so he couldn't fax and didn't have access to a computer. I didn't want it to be an ordeal for him since he was already being so kind and helpful. The pharmacy staff said yes, no problem. He called and they said they can't take it by phone. I called them and ask what was going on. The pharmacist says this is not your regular pharmacy. I said, "I'm new to the area." He says, "You've been to other CVSs". "Yes, I'm new to the area and I actually have been to one or more in Colorado and one in Davis CA and I'm sure other places. I travel alot." He says in a snotty tone, "I'm happy for you." I said, "for BUSINESS," what is the problem? He said why are you changing pharmacies?, as if it's something suspicious. I said this is an antibiotic, it's Amoxillian and Calvalanate (potassium). It's not a controlled substance. He said, "the prescription has to be sent electronically it's the law." I said, "I called I explained that my doctor is from another state. I'm new to the area. He is on vacation. He doesn't have a fax machine or computer with him. He has his provider number. A woman I spoke to there said it would be fine." The law is a Business law, CA Bus & Prof Code § 688 (2025), and was created to be helpful by requiring electronic delivery of prescriptions from large volume providers that send a lot of precriptions to pharmacies like CVS. It's more efficient and more accurate. However, my doctor met the exceptions to the law and CVS was required under the law to fill the precription. He was a single provider who was not a large volume prescriber. He also didn't have access to electronic equipment to send the prescription electronically. Further, it was an antibiotic. It was not a controlled substance. My Physician was shocked at the treatment we received. My Business travels were related to my time on the American Hospital Assn Policy Board. I can tell you I will be pursuing remedies and investigations of the recent dangerous and wide spread failings and irregularities in the pharmacy industries. People needing antibiotics to treat infections shouldn't be denied service because pharmacy staff are uneducated or personally opinionated. Failure to get treatment for an infection can result in death or permanent injuries.
