At every other arco when you pay with a debit card they give you the cash price, at this station they try to trick you into using the debit card like a credit card so they can charge you more. If you press debit and insert your card it won't read the card on the first try. Just leave it in there and pick debit again and it will finally give you the cash price. It's a shady practice by the station and Arco should definitely look into it. If you pull the card and try using the tap to pay it will give you the credit card price.

I made my way to Arco. I expected that perhaps Sam would take a look at my car on Monday but he asked me to drive it into one of the bays where he immediately checked out what was going on. He then took it for a brief test drive and immediately knew what the problem was. He said he would fix it on the same day. I couldn't believe it! Any other place would've kept it at least through Monday or Tuesday or perhaps even longer before they ever got around to it. But, a few hours later my spark plugs and my ignition coil had been changed and all done for a very reasonable price. Unbelievable! You really don't find mechanics with this kind of business ethic any longer. Great service. Great price. Highly recommended.

More than anything, I'm disappointed by how poorly the situation was handled and by the complete lack of customer service or accountability. I am not a regular here as I frequent a different gas station(s) in Torrance. Stopped in on a weekend to purchase a Lotto ticket or two and saw the deal for chocolate chip cookies by the counter. It's cheaper to get the deal for 3 opposed to just one cookie. Yes, it was an impulse buy but a good one at that. Haha. Took the cookies home and saw on the wrapper that it was baked locally but did not ID which local bakery. As for customer service, it was a no-nonsense type guy at the counter. I paid with cash (almost exact amount) so the transaction was simple. Will likely not be back at this location but check out the cookies deal at the Arco/ampm that I go to in Torrance.

Not the best wash in town but the price is right, the location is convenient, and they use these handy little stamped cards that entitle you to a free wash for the eighth one. Well, apparently not really, not any more. Today I came in for the free wash and the cashier told me (with a healthy dose of attitude) that she couldn't accept it because it had stamps on it that they used in 2022. Maybe she "went off" on me because she had an argument with the woman in line in front of me and she felt she had to pass it on to someone. It's only February of 2023. The card says nothing about expiring less than 45 days into the new year - in fact it says nothing about expiring, ever. There are no signs on the premises that mention the card expiring. No one said a word about the card expiring when I paid for each of the preceding seven washes over the past few months. Maybe she thought I'd pay for my so-called "free wash" and she could pocket the money while leaving the free wash card in the register? Who knows? I told her politely that it is not right to promise something and then refuse to give it when the customer fulfills their side of the deal, and this wouldn't be the last she heard of this. She relented and reluctantly gave me the free wash that the card promised, while telling me "don't try this again." May I suggest that she might be happier if she looked for work that doesn't involve customer service? This time she lost a loyal customer of more than ten years' duration. Doubt I'm the only customer that her attitude and attempted fraud has turned away. No one likes being accused of a scam by a scammer trying to defend herself.

I ask the man if he works here and why she thinks he needs to assist me As confused as I am he gives me the receipt. While I notice he gave me the $6 receipt instead of the $8 I paid for I go back in the convenience store and ask the lady why the fuck she didn't just give me the code to begin with. I go off and start getting ghetto with this lady because I've just had it. There is nothing complicated about a drive thru wash. Not did I ever ask for special assistance. I never got an apology or any understanding. I'll never be back here. I've never been so frustrated and upset with someone's customer service than I was here. Please don't ever come here.
