Conveniently located off the freeway. Obviously, it's convenience results in slightly higher prices than other nearby stations. If you have enough gas in your tank, head east on El Toro two blocks for slightly more moderately priced gas. Also -- this station is weird in its design. There is nothing stating that the "lanes" are one way... but all the cars must enter off El Toro not the side street, as all are pointing that way. The fat lady inside at nights always takes a two hour break. When she is there she'd do rude!!!! Doesn't say hi, how are you, thank you or have a good night. She looks like she hates her job and her life. I get it she's like 50 years old working at a gas station but if she hates her job so much then just quit and work somewhere else. My tire blew out on my motorcycle while on the freeway. I was able to get it to the gas station to try and see what I could do to it. I had a tire at home in Oceanside and needed to find a way to get down there and back. I asked the employee at the register if it was ok to leave my motorcycle by the air pump and said I should move it to in front of the window so he could keep an eye on it. That was a huge relief as I was extremely concerned that it could be stolen. I had to walk 4 miles to try and catch the bus to the train station. It ended up taking me 2 days to get down to Oceanside. I called the gas station each day to check on my motorcycle and to update them on my progress with getting back. When I called Sunday the employee let me know that it was still there, but that the manager said it needed to be gone by the following morning at 5AM or else it would be towed. I let them know that o would have it gone by then. When I called at 4 to let them know I was on my way, a female employee told me that they had it towed at 9pm the night before, about 2 hours after the employee told me that I had until 5AM. An employee gave me an 800 number to call and I spoke to a woman by the name of Alexandria, and she said that it doesnt matter that an employee gave me permission to park it there that they don't have the authority to give permission. She said she would talk to them and find out the details. She just called me back and said she spoke to the manager and that they no one witnessed the employee say that I had until 5am and that they gave 2 days to take care of it, which I'm grateful for, but it took her 2 days just to call me back. I just don't understand why they told me these things and that I could do something if they were just going to tow it. I would have not left it and done something else instead of leaving it there. read more

It's best to stick to one brand of gasoline and mine just happens to be Chevron. I usually only pull in here if my tank is empty on my way home from San Diego. Lately the price of gas has been ridiculously high in California, so I stopped bothering with trying to locate the cheaper pumps as it's rather depressing to see how much it costs to live in the Sunshine State. Sometimes I'm a snob. I only started coming here because they remodeled it. As the months have passed some of that luster has worn off, but. My first thoughts of the old status was "it's still Chevron gas" even though it was a little run down. It was lit well, but not bright and clean and as modern as other "less prestigious gas stations". So the remodeled it a few months ago and they managed to fix lighting and it's shiny and bright and clean, but the prices which were probably discounted to bring back the consumer has settled in as the most expensive in the area. The one thing people come here for you raise. Meanwhile other Chevron's manage to have expensive everything in the store, but are within pennies of Shell. Something is going wrong here. Your doing it all wrong. Stabilize. If you own and full sized truck, or even a Tacoma. Don't come here. It's tight, I've seen a King Ranch Ford literally have to be walked out and have traffic blocked for his 19 point turn because he thought he could make it. It's more his fault, but you know how the OC is, no one's gonna give you slack because they are probably just terrible drivers too. Just don't come here. I am not the bigger person and I'm not cutting you slack. They are always out of cracked pepper flavored sunflower seeds and they need to up their selection of healthy refreshment. Location with this gas station is everything! It is nestled on the only little piece of the block just before the entrance to the 5 north. If you run out of gas after using this onramp, you wanted to run out of gas. I like the plethora of medicines (for sinus/allergy, pain, heartburn) and single ice cream servings the store has to offer. I work very near by so these come in handy. There's not a lot of parking available if you are not getting gas. But, again, whoever made this gas station probably planned it that way on purpose. Very smart business move. read more

Wish they'd carry E85 FLEX FUEL!!!!!!! There's so many cars that are capable of using this gas and the price is so much cheaper!!! Life would be easy if they did. Most cars now days come equipped to run flex fuel gas (e85) I know at least 50 buddies of mines that run that gas and have to travel northern OC just to fill up and take extra jugs please bring e85 to lake forest.
