I know it's odd, but I really like going through a car wash. Not just any car wash, mind you. But one that you can escape the world and its facile charms, troubles, and the oppressive heat of mid-summer madness, or the sterile cold of wintry desolation; one with soothing cave-like darkness, automatic brushes, futuristic lights, swishing water and technicolor soap, punctuating the darkness--not requiring intrusive human hands (seeking tips and approval), or even polite communication. If you can get one that does not cost much, and which does not even require that you exchange words or currency with a bored, teenage attendant, or moonlighting housewife, (or balding, middle-aged man who reminds you of your high school Gym teacher), even better! And that's the Chevron Car Wash! It. is. everything. Cheap: As little as $8 for a basic wash, and $16 for an extended one that includes "waxing." By a throwback robot without the anthropormorphism. Sure. You are not getting a high quality detailing here, folks. It's more for your sense of pride and quick freshening up more than anything. But sure, you can pay extra for the "luxury" wash. Therapeutic: It is serene to go through a car wash like this and realize that you are going through life which on occasion dumps its sludge on you, but you will emerge from it shinier and better and go out into the sunshine, ready to face whatever may come your way. And as Nietzsche said, "That which does not kill you makes you stronger." And that includes your car! That is the message of the humble carwash! You are alone, but you are not lonely. You are powerful. You are loved. Someone knows your name. Your car appreciates you! Roll up your windows in your fortress of steel, turn way up the volume on your favorite tune, and ease into the small, but psychically vast atmosphere of vehicular baptism. I have never felt "blue" after an automatic car wash. This Chevron one on Charleston is special because it is so quick and to the point. (Fabulous Freddy's deeper in Summerlin has or had an amazing one that takes quite a while to get through its bells and whistles, but costs more and requires more dedicated planning). You can drop by and do this wash in 5 minutes, if that! (Stay for the full 1 minute of blow-drying at the end, though, for best results.) The car wash is perfectly automatic. It takes a debit/credit card! You don't have to talk to anyone. Isn't that relaxing? Just you and your car against the world. It is going to be alright. Yes, even if it rains.

I came in for the car wash. I needed a bay-style place opposed to an automatic/tunnel wash as the last tunnel damaged my modified jeep. The wash portion was great. Good pressure, price and foam. $2.50 for 5 minutes is fair. They take an atm swipe so not having to find quarters or get tokens is nice. The vacuum is coin only, doesn't suck hard and the hoses are short. I can't get around to the other side of my jeep and the $1.50 a pop doesn't give me enough time to get it all in one session. I was excited that I got a free 22 ounce soda for checking in but the cashier didn't know about it and it turned into a hassle. She eventually gave me the free soda. Meh is my overall experience.

I like their touch less wash for a car with dust. Car came out clean and dry. Clean gas stations

Can I pay by credit card when doing the self serve wash or do I need to get coins?

Yes, you can swipe your credit card at the self service wash. Once approved, there will be a $10 pre authorization but will only be charged what you use. There is a button on the card reader to add additional time without having to re-swipe your card

CVS how you complete the world?!…read more So you're here on vacation, and need something? This is where you want to come! We needed a last minute card and the selection, even for the area is pretty good. When we visited this store sometimes safety is a priority and be sure and watch out. Lock your car, the parking is free too. This trip here was worth it. We found Vegas merch that will be coming with us. Our Vegas days are limited! So for that reason we needed tourist themed items. They have aisles of stuff. It's just too cute. The price is reasonable as well. So many memories and experiences here . So when you're in the area get your coffee and whatever extra that you need to get yourself together.

Her tone when she was king for my info was very condescending. She assumed we were young and talked to us like we were dumb or something. She was quick, and just wanted to be done with us. She was also talking fast like she wanted to get rid of us. It's Vegas and she knew we were not locals. She immediately looked annoyed and her face showed it. Didn't like her energy and was very RUDE. Not friendly at all, and was nicer to other people who were Caucasian and older. We're a minority and look young--but we're not young. She needs proper training on customer service skills, speak proper to customers, and be more polite and patient. No one as even in line but us. She was acting like she was all that and a bag of chips.
