Here's what happened: The local Ford dealership told us our tires were worn. 7/32 tread depth in the front and 6/32 in the rear. I ordered four new Cooper tires from Tetrault. My wife took our car to have the tires installed while i was at work. The manager comes out and asks my wife if we wanted them to put our old tires in our car to take home when they install the new tires as they hadn't installed them yet. My wife was puzzled so she called me and had me talk to the manager. He explained that our tires were like new and figured we were replacing them because they were Michelin CrossClimate2 Grand Touring All-Season Tires and he thought we wanted summer tires and then rotate them back to the Michelins next winter. I told him what the Ford dealership had told me and he said, no our tires are just like new. I asked if he minded if we didn't buy the new tires even though they had them shipped to the shop just for us and they were a special size. He said no problem. I had them balance and rotate our tires.

We pulled over and called our RV insurance, but while waiting for a callback, I started calling around town to see if anyone could help us sooner. It was already 3pm, and unfortunately every place I called told me to come back the next morning. Since we were just traveling through in our camper van, waiting wasn't really an option. We just wanted to safely continue on to our campsite. When I called Old Town Auto Service, they didn't hesitate at all, just told us to stop by and they'd take a look right away. We drove over, and they got our Promaster Solis Pocket up on the lift immediately! They quickly found the issue: a small rock had gotten wedged between the rotor and the heat shield. Simple fix, but a huge relief. We were in and out with the problem completely resolved before our RV insurance even called back to say they were still trying to find a technician for us. 5 stars all the way! The staff was friendly, the shop was clean, and they treated us with respect, even for such a small issue. It's a big deal to find a place willing to work on our van without hesitation. I had had my oil changed at another shop in town, and afterwards, I had a check engine light and an…read moreoil pressure light come on. I brought it in here for a second opinion to figure out what was wrong. The person I was working with was Brian. Brian ran the code, and it said that the oil pressure sensor was stuck in the open position. As he got into the diagnosis, apparently when the other shop did the oil change, a prong from the oil filter had broken off, and was blocking the oil pressure sensor. I went back over to the other shop, and spoke to the manager. The manager called over to Brian to find out exactly what had happened, and Brian went over it in detail. Based on what had happened, the manager at the other shop agreed to cover the cost of repairs to get my car back on the road. My car got fixed with no out-of-pocket cost to myself, and even though it was only three days before Christmas, when I brought my car in, Brian had my car ready the following morning. Two days before Christmas. I highly recommend this shop. They will take very good care of you. Thank you to Brian for getting my car done, and for having my back in this situation. I can't recommend this shop enough.
