The car wash here does a pretty good job, but the line is always huge!!! Be prepared to wait. Doesn't seem to matter what time of day. THE CASHIERS ARE CROOKS! I claimed a $1.00 prize and asked for single quick play on Mega Millions for $2.00. I think the cashier had a seizure because he handed me 5 Mega Million quick picks and 10 Super Lotto Plus quick picks. He counts and says that's $20.00. I said, "I only asked for one quick pick on Mega Millions." WTF?!?!?! His buddy jumps in and says "That's the new combo." I said I only asked for one quick pick. He says I can't give you refund on the Mega Millions but I'll take back the Super Lotto Plus tickets. Hmmm, so now it is my fault that you have difficulty comprehending what a customer asked for? Place is nice, new, clean, and the people who run it all seem decent. AS far as I can tell their prices are average. They have a big car wash in the back. -Some of the people behind the counter could be a bit friendlier. On point I noticed today was watching one of the people wiping down the pumps during the down time. It was impressive to see him taking pride in the appearance of their station. UPDATE: Even though these guys are right next to the air port (where gas stations typically have higher prices), they are 30 cents/gallon less (!) than some of the stations in town (namely the Shell station by Santa Clara University). It's cool that they don't exploit their location to jack up the prices. This is a review of the car wash only. It's an automated car wash, so I wasn't expecting much. I just wanted to get a cursory clean of the outside of the car. The machines did just that, a cursory job. I could have upgraded to the more expensive washes, but I figured I just needed it to wet the car down, scrub off the dust, and dry it off. The dry was the worst part of the wash, and made it almost pointless to have come in the first place. Unfortunately, the blowers were super ineffective, and the car was wet all over no matter how slowly I drove through it. The water dried and left spots on every window and surface, and it looked almost worse than it did when I went in. Maybe bring your own towel to hand dry the car afterward, just so you can keep the quality of whatever wash you pay for without having your car be spotty. Unless you like your car looking like a leopard! read more

Definitely an above average gas station. Originally came here because my tire pressure warning popped up and was instructed to check the pressure levels. I parked right next to the air pump and to my surprise it was free! I took out the caps on my tires and started pumping air. All you had to do was click start and put it in. Unfortunately, they don't have the device that gives you an accurate PSI of your tires so I went inside and bought one for about $5. read more

This review is for the car wash....it sucks. Spent $10 at this self-described Hi-Tech Carwash for "The Works," and I left feeling like I got worked. Not only was my truck still dirty when I left, there was a ton of soap still running down the right side and down the back of the tailgate. It seems like the clean water sprayers were clogged or something. Just as I was pulling out, there was a technician's truck pulling in. Maybe he's there to fix the thing. When I go to a gas station I want to get in and get out n on my way. The pumps here seem to take forever and ask too many questions before they will allow you to begin fueling. Here is a recap of yesterdays fueling experience.. Press Yes to enter in Safeway rewards number.. enters in number. Press enter when done. Presses enter. Waits... waits... Inserts debit card, waits. Press enter for debit. Presses enter. Pause.. Error, please start over. Once the machine accepts payment method I'm asked whether I want a receipt. No. Do I want to buy a car wash? The saddest, most pathetic excuse for a gas station I have have ever seen. The credit card readers rarely work, the car wash constantly fails after you input your code. The people try to be helpful but the incompetence of the whole place renders them helpless. Oh yeah, a the credit card price is 9 cents more than cash. Cancel the helpful part. OK, if you're going to advertise a 'High-Tech' car wash in Silicon Valley, you'd better produce an experience where your car gets an oil change, full engine diagnostic and tire rotation alongside the wash and rinse. Otherwise, it's just another car wash. Truth be told, I'd be happy if this place managed to just function like a regular car wash. I tried the touchless wash with all the fixin's. After all the multi-colored suds were rinsed off, I could still see the muck marks on the windshield where my wiper never reaches. WTF? A couple of months later, I was in the area with a need for gas and another wash. OK, one more chance. This time I'll go with the light-touch wash. Light indeed! Once again, I get out of the wash, and there are several spots on the car where it appears the dirt was never even touched. I love this Chevron because it allows me to fuel my car and then head next door to In N Out to fuel my soul with a double double. This place is brand new and it shows. The design is well thought out with lots of pumps that are spaced out to allow easy flow of traffic. I come here at all hours of the day and I've never had to wait for a pump. The Extra Mile convenience store here is a paradise of snacks and drinks. You will probably gain ten pounds just by walking in and looking at all the delicious candy, ice cream, and chips they taunt you with. The have a wall of drinks so massive that it could have been used to separate East and West Germany. If you are going on a road trip this is definitely the place to stock up before you hit the road. You'd expect a brand new Chevron to have the most expensive gas in town, but it is actually some of the cheapest in the area. Come fuel up, grab some snacks, go next door to In N Out, and then enjoy your food coma. read more

The gas station is nice, but in a very busy location. The one star is for the car wash. I will never get my car washed here again. It takes way too long, it is a waste of money and it doesn't even do the job. There were two cars in front of me when I pulled up and it took a half hour until the time I was out of there! Way too long! I understand that the wash isn't too expensive, I paid $9, but my car was still dirty and it left horrible water spots all over my car even though I chose the "spot free rise" and the dryer. I'm here to use the car wash today only to wash away external dirt buildup. Paid $10 for a 'supreme' soft touch wash which was supposed to provide an under carriage and wheel wash, in addition to a tri-foam exterior wash and clear coat wax. The under-carriage and wheel wash didn't start until after my car passed through to the main wash even though I crawled through it to try to get it started. No wash there. The external wash was just okay - cleared away dirt but left tons of soap on the hood when it was done, and then proceeded to spread the soap all over the car when going through the speed dry. The car was still wet everywhere. I went home and washed off the soap and dried it off. I've been through other washes that were much better for what I wanted done and for what I e paid. We bought a wash at 3:45 pm it's now 4:20 and there's still 2 cars in front of us. Takes about 10 minutes per car, it's insanity. If there were less cars behind me I'd totally leave. I entered with a dirty car and left with a dirty car that had soap stains and water spots on top of the dirt. When I called to complain they told me to call back the next day. Although this place faces Coleman Ave it takes four turns to get into the station from Coleman Ave and at least another four turns to get back to Coleman. And that's not counting any of the turns to get the to pumps. That's six more turns than a trip to a normal gas station. If you are a Safeway member, you can save $0.20/gallon at the pump! With gas being at $4/gallon, saving $0.20 is great. I really needed a car wash after driving up California, and so decided that even though there were 5 cars in front of me, it was worth the wait. Once I got in line and couldn't get out, I changed my mind but it was too late lolol. Each car took about 6 minutes, so by the time I got out of the car wash, it had been about 45 minutes. The car wash was ok, but was not excellent. I could tell because there was still bug residue on my windshield! A woman in front of me kept turning her car on and off and walking around, and taking off her shoes which was highly disgusting. She was about all the distraction I could take. Chevron, you should play a movie on the side so that cars aren't bored while waiting in line. Can I propose Pixar short clips?? ;-) read more

Pros: large clean facility with lots of pumps. Cons: the pumps are ultra slow, it's difficult to get in and out of, the car wash is VERY slow. Average wait time is 30min. In the future I'll probably try and stay away from this facility. If I'm gonna pay $11 bucks to wait 30min for a car wash, I'd rather just go to Classic Cat Wash and get The Works. read more

I'm gonna go ahead and score this one pretty high! Why am I even reviewing a gas station of all places ... Well cos #1: it's located right off the I-880 (super convenient) and #2: it stocks diesel at one of the lower rates per gallon. I just read SCORE and SCORE. This may not mean much to 98% of you, but for us diesel guys (and no I'm not referring to how we look ...) - finding diesel is hard enough as it is ... finding it at a relatively lower price than other stations is just a no-brainer. I never use the car wash - my car needs TLC - not some "high tech" fancy schmancy high-powered water gun ... I also don't think I've ever walked into the station store either. I get there. Swipe my card. Stick the nozzle in. Pump the gas. Pull it out. And I'm on my way. Sounds just about right to me. Bonus: you can use your Safeway cards at Chevron to get up to $0.20 off per gallon. I use their cash price option. Not all chevrons have cash price, but this one does and is conveniently located off the 880 Coleman exit. The station is relatively new and the facility is clean. I've been to other chevrons where their staff is under trained and they do not know how to refill a chevron gift card. I've never had any problems with the staff here and they are efficient and friendly. read more

Traveled to this gas station after Gas Buddy revealed it had the least expensive (exempting Costco) gas near the area where I was running errands. The pumps are new and work as expected. I had no problem paying with my debit card at the pump and managed to pull right up without any wait. I did not go in the store or the car wash, but the building seemed new. I found the fueling area clean and free of any debris. I did get approached by someone asking for money and another man was on the corner of the station with a sign. Overall, while probably not the least expensive gas in San Jose, it's not a bad gas station and will meet your needs. read more

I like going to this Chevron because I like to buy from Chevron, even though their gas is usually a bit more expensive than others....BUT, this location has cheaper prices than the other Chevrons around San Jose! I am quite surprised. If you pay with cash, it is like 4 cents cheaper, they prefer you paying with cash than credit card. Come here almost everyday. Sometimes workers are nice for the most part rude! I got a car wash today and gas. They charged me for the price with out gas which is only $2 more but when I told him he said we are busy look at the line! I told him so I just waited in line. This Chevron is very large, spacious, and I've never had to wait here. The prices are pretty fair given that it's the bay area/California, and that it's Chevron. I really enjoy getting my gas pumped here and watching the planes land, since it's right next to the airport. I also really like that it's actually off the street (you have to go around and enter through the back) which just makes it a lot less chaotic and gives a feeling of segregation since it's right on Coleman. read more
