Came by for a fill up the other day and it was a great experience! Pumps were in great working order with lay at the pump and receipt available. Squeegees and paper towels were both available. The entire gas station was clean and the attendant was friendly and in uniform. Apparently, Chevron now has more Techron than before! There is a minimum of $.77 for gas purchase! read more

Chevron So in July 20 my guy And I decided to take our six month old to the car wash at Chevron in Saratoga. 656pm we bought the car wash and went in line. There was a brown suv in the car wash, but the car wash was completely off. The man tried two different codes. He went in after the first one didn't work came out with the second one still didn't work he drove through the car wash, and then we tried our code, and they did not work either , so we both went up to try to get refunds. Romelia and another gentleman were there and they refused to give us any kind of refund or any kind of help. So we left to the Chevron on Winchester and got a car wash there. We let them know the situation and they told us that we should be able to get a refund since the car wash did not work. We headed back over to Saratoga Chevron, and ask them once again to give us a refund since we did not use the car wash again blatantly refused. For the next Four days I called trying to get a hold of a manager, but was told the manager was not there and they would give them a message . Finally on the 25th I spoke with the manager parmida... let me just say I have never spoken to such a rude person. I asked her if they had given her my messages and she said no she didn't even know that there has been an issue . I was very specific when I told her the time that we went and the type of car which was a white Honda she said she needed to investigate and she'd call me back . Shortly after she called me back and told me that she our brown Toyota car that had gone through the car wash at 6:30.. I corrected her three different times and told her it was a Honda not a Toyota and it was a white car and we had bought the car wash at 6:56. She did not listen very well at all. That's why I had to continue to tell her it was a Honda. It was a white car, and there was no way possible that we went and got a car wash. We drove straight through it. She had made a comment that the man in front of us had messed up the codes and that's why I didn't work, and I told her not to fault the customers when our code didn't work either. I told her I was not interested in getting another code or using her car wash I just wanted my refund. I understand she needs to investigate but the way she made it sound was that we were trying to pull one over on her. She finally said that she saw us go through the car wash at 7:07 and again insisted that we had a car wash and I told her we did not. That's why we both came up to the front us and the man in the brown truck walked in at the same time inquiring for a refund. I told her I was very annoyed of this conversation, and I need it corporate number and her name. She refused to give me either.... She told me if I came in she'd give me her name. I told her I have a small child and things to do she said that everyone has things too so. Super rude. I told her I would like corporates number she said she didn't have it to come in and get my refund. I couldn't get it in person so my mother went and Parmida showed her the camera and my mother pointed out my guy and the manager was baffled it was the truth we did not get a car wash. She was looking for a woman driver even tho I specifically told her my guy and I went with our baby and he was refused a refund twice. When they came back to the front my mother asked for corporates number she said it should be by the door on the glass my mom let them know there was nothing there. Parmida shooed romelia off the register mid transaction with another customer. She told her to let her finish handing the customer his change. She issued my mother the cash refund and my mother asked for corporates number and she told her she doesn't know it... My mother said there are all these binders none of them have corporates number? Parmida said no. My mother left with her refund and the manager's name. This was the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Working in customer service for over 15 years I can honestly say I was appalled. Paying customers should not be treated like criminals and should be able to have have the managers name and corporate's number when requested. read more

I was advised to switch up brands and locations every time I fill up, and so far, this is the only Chevron where I was getting less-than-usual mileage per tank. My commute is the same every week, but I have noticed this is the third time where my car's acceleration is sluggish from this specific Chevron. Perhaps the 89 pumps from the same tank as the 87? The performance on my car after getting gas here reminds me Costco gas without the strong fuel smell. Anyone else notice it? read more

This "24 hour" Chevron station doesn't have 24-hour bathrooms, so don't bother buying gas here at night if you might also have to use the bathroom. read more

Ever since I bought my car, I use chevron gas station. But they lost one of their regular customers in this location! I always get full tank and sometimes I have to get it through the cashier In other locations they always close my account after I refill my tank. Today the cashier said he only can do it for a certain amount and its final sale. Once I informed him other locations always do this, he said he can't do it and what if my card get declined? I said that's fine charge me only $10 and I will go to some other chevron. He said go ahead if you don't trust me, I don't trust you either!!! He could easily inform me that their policy doesn't let him to put my card on hold. Won't go back to this location again! read more

The guy working today at 530pm kept saying the N word on the phone while helping customer. He didn't give me all my change and said that "since you are trippen about your change I'll let you have it". I told him if it's your money I'm pretty sure you wouldn't had said that. It feels odd to review a service station, but I'm a sucker for good service. As I was pumping gas I noticed that my tire was low and drove into the drive-thru service/lube garage having every expectation to pay for the service. When the service tech was done checking all four tires and the specification on the door to ensure the air was done to the proper level, he thanked me for coming in and started walking away... I called back to the tech to ask what the cost was and it was free! The station is bright, clean and has small TVs to keep you occupied while your car is being serviced for oil changes, etc. While they didn't make any money from me for the tire pressure check, I will be moving my oil change biz over here when it comes time. The new pumps barely work. They're overly sensitive or something. After having it shut off every few seconds I had to leave with only a few gallons and find a different station: next guy over was having same problem. This is my favorite gas station in the whole wide bay area for one reason only: It always smells like teriyaki chicken. I'm completely serious. There's a Happi House right across the street, and the delicious scents always wafts towards the gas station when the wind blows in that direction. Whatever direction that is. I don't know what direction wind blows. I don't even know if it's supposed to blow in a specific direction. So anywho! When I'm standing there, filling my barty (that's my car's name!) with expensive smelly gasoline, I rotate my nose towards Happi House and smell the air with a giant smile on my face. I don't actually like eating teriyaki-esque foods, I just like smelling it. They should make a terikyaki air freshener. That would make a lot of money. I've never been inside the store part of the gas station, but the outside is always nice and clean. It's well lit so I'm not afraid of getting kidnapped when I go at night. This one time I was here, a grumpy lady was honking impatiently at me as I stood outside sniffing the air in happiness, after I filled up my tank. Sorry, lady! read more

Cheap stoges, best quality gas prices in my neighbor hood and a friendly staff. What more do you want from a gas station? Arco across the street may have cheaper gas by a couple cents, but it's not quality and you'll pay a $0.45 surcharge for debit. read more

I gave them $73 for gas, least they could do was offer a bathroom. Bathroom only open when service portion is open. Ridiculous.

Love the convenience of this location while on my way to work and the inside clerks are always so friendly. What I don't love is that theres always something up with the car wash or a pump or two is down for maintence otherwise it would be a 5 star for a gas station. read more

I wouldn't even rate a star if Yelp is not requiring to at least rate one to write a review. Extremely unpleasant experience at Chevron on 404 Saratoga Ave, San Jose, CA 95129. I visited the aforementioned Chevron gas station to put gas in my car. I approached Raj who was working the cash register with a $100 bill, intending to pump $30 worth of gas. Instead of giving me change, she asked me to proceed to pump first while she would "look for change". I offered to pay by credit card if she was not certain about having change. She grew annoyed and retorted, "What are you worried about, that I'm going to take your money? There are cameras all around. Other customers do this all the time!" Intimidated, I went outside and got gas. Concerned about the change, I decided not to pump $30's worth of gas after all. I returned to the cashier, and Raj said, "See? You didn't even pump the $30. You would've had to come back anyway." When she presented my change, she had 2 $20 bills, the rest in $5 & singles. I was incredulous and stated that she should have informed me ahead of time if the change was going to be mostly small bills. I would have paid by credit card instead. She said that I was mean, and repeated, "I told you I had change." And called me rude. I said that I was not rude. She was. Then she started counting the money, all the time still calling me rude, and continued lamenting. I told her I didn't want to argue. I just wanted to complete the transaction and leave. She snapped and told me, "Be quiet!" I said I was not the one who wouldn't stop talking. She was, and I was only responding to her remarks. Again she told me to be quiet. There was a man behind me and I felt utterly humiliated. She said if I was going to continue speaking, I should step outside. I said I was not going to leave before filing a complaint with management. I asked, "Who is the boss?" And she said, "I'm the boss. I am going to complain about you too." I asked for her name and wrote it down along with the job title she provided: "assistant manager". Then she started slamming down the money on the counter hard. When I was getting ready to leave, Raj said to me, "Don't come back!" I asked, "Do you mean I shouldn't patronize this place again?" She replied, "Yes!" I wish I had just left without pumping gas in the first place. I had NEVER been treated with such disrespect and absence of professionalism in my life. The location is pretty good as it's near the freeway exit esp. if you're running low on gas going on 280N near Saratoga Ave. It was also good for filling up gas before heading home from Garden City (Casino). By entering my phone# I was able to use my Safeway account and got 10 cent/gal discount and along with rebate from Amex card the price was about the same as the Arco across the street. And the gas quality is probably better than Arco's read more
