I need to stop coming here. The employees are nice, but that's not everything. The gas is expensive. The oil change is expensive. The car wash I believe is pricey, too, and not great. I had plenty of missed spots and water running down my car the one time I went there. But what bugs me a lot is the beer prices; or lack thereof. They have probably over 40 kinds of beer and in different sizes and packs, but only about 5-7 stickers on the glass displaying the price. That means if you want to know the price, you have to ask the cashier to guess for you or scan it. So what if they are busy or you don't want to ask the cashier to scan 5 or 6 beers to see which one you want to go with, you're left in an uncomfortable position that you should t be in. Just have prices visible like everyone else. Why does this bother me so much? Because I am often not sure which one I want and if I'm split between 2-3 beers, I'll just get the cheapest one and save myself a couple bucks. So here's what's happened in the past. I asked the cashier to check a few prices and they were all higher than what everyone else would sell the same ones for and I chose whatever. Doesn't matter. It was expensive and I was in a hurry so that's it. Another time I just chose a cheap Mexican beer that I thought would be good with the food I ordered somewhere and went to check out. It was like $10 for a six pack. Everywhere else it would be like $6-8. Circle K, Seven 11, you name it. But what sucks is that I knew I was getting a cheap beer, I waited in line expecting to pay $8 at the very most, and it was like $10. Maybe with tax. This is annoying to me and feels like they are being dishonest by not displaying the price. Maybe they think people won't notice because they are getting other items and maybe gas and are in a hurry. But I pay at the pump and I'm usually just going inside for beer and nothing else. I'm trying to avoid the line at Target. Okay, I see this has turned into a rant. Sorry. Prices are high on everything but it's only one of two gas stations around the area. It's the closest to me, but I won't be supporting them anymore. You get lured in to the carwash because you get a break on the cost of gas. Let me tell you - it is not worth it! I had a similar experience to the other yelper that I was told an oil change would take 20 minutes and over an hour later I finally got my car. But even worse than that is the car wash. I think it is broken as the last 2 times I went, the soap doesn't get rinsed off and you have a sticky residue all over your car. I am never returning. Went to aqua clean on ridgback road and while that place is a bit pricey - it is way better than this car wash. read more

What's there to really say about a gas station? Plenty! The cashiers here are awesome and super friendly! I work close, so often come for the "convenient store" portion for a drink or snack! Or those times the lottery is too big to pass up buying a ticket! Always busy, so don't be surprised to see a line! I've never done the car wash, so I can't comment, but I alway see some pretty nice cars being washed here! This is where I get gas for my guzzler. And this location means the most to me because this is where I purchased--for the first time in my life--gas for $4 a gallon. (please, please stop your clapping and cheering). Now that prices have tamed down a bit, I still find this location to be about 5 cents more than other gas stations in San Diego. It just so happens this is the closests gas station to my house, where I normally drive on fumes before I fill 'er up. I've also tried their car wash. Its pretty decent, but also a bit pricey. I tried to talk to the guy who checked-in my car to give me a good deal. Umm...no deal. I even gave him a copy of 944 Magazine. He took the bait and ran! read more

I only gave it one star because Yelp! won't let me give it ZERO stars, and the fact that my kid loves the play area so it does make getting my car washed easier. Most important though- I would NOT recommend anyone go to this establishment because they are consistently rude and lack customer care, as well as their work ethic is often in question. They advertise discounts and then don't honor them (or roll their eyes at you when you mention it). Often while trying to get my toddler and valuables out of the car before the wash, I am bombarded with 3-5 people all trying to sell me something else (windshield dings, hubcap fixes, extra "discounted" detailing, etc.) and none of it seems legit. I have heard from other friends that the business is shady so I'm putting it out there- WATCH OUT! Avoid this business no matter what. read more

The few times I have been here, I got a car wash done (its not cheap), and also went inside the store to pay for the wash. The attendants inside the store are not friendly to say the least. If you dare ask a question while the two attendants are speaking to each other they'll both give you a dirty look for interrupting their conversation. Hmmm...the concept of working doesn't seem to fly here? I just wanted to pay for my wash but I don't know how to do that without interrupting your conversation...so let me pay and leave and you can talk about that fixing that fake weave and how much it will cost you to fix said weave. Can't believe I just paid $11 to drive my car into this nasty car wash!! The floor is caked in mud and leaves and nastiness! Walls are black and dirty! It's okay to clean them out once in a while! The little spinning things were gross too!! Hopefully it doesn't scratch my car! All I can say is I liked the included drying feature instead of the traditional drive through! I can't help but feel it blew all that mud back on my car though! read more

This gas station,..well it stinks. There is ALWAYS A LINE AT THE CHECKOUT,..Hey Management,..how about you hire a second person to HELP THE CUSTOMER!? The car wash,..is crap. Inconsistent and SLOW,..are the two words which best describe this place. They ALWAYS forget to wipe a spot on the car, forget to clean a mirror,..and they take forever to offer this crappy service. Yesterday,..after not seeing my car exit the wash station for 30 minutes,..I asked to speak with a manager. I explained how my car had not emerged yet,..and his reply "or car washed take 30 minutes",... Well,..Ill take 15 minutes and drive to the BONITA car wash instead! Bye! read more

I saw a lot of reviews that already touch on major points about this Chevron, so here's some more to further solidify them. Yes the gas here is expensive, but where isn't it in general these days? I am a former customer of the car wash service they offer. This place was decent between 2008-2010, but those days are long gone. Now I can't even get a word in without being offered the Sketchy Special of the day that retails for $70+ which they drop down to $40, when in actuality I wouldn't even throw a $20 at the final product. Forget about trying to get a wash mid-day, the more cars in line, the more the service deteriorates. The staff rushes and often times forgets to add the air freshener, which is almost always either too weak to notice or so strong that you'll be fighting to breathe the entire ride home. Even if they do rush, it'll take 45 minutes to over an hour before they finish. There are more disappointments to come at the cash register. Don't even bother trying to speak to any of the staff regarding promotions or signing up for any of the "deals" or membership offers; you'll only get eye-rolls and an attitude in return. Sadly, Yelp does not offer a rating of zero stars as an option because that's what the true rating is for this Chevron. Don't do it. When I pulled in my daughter was watching a movie. When I went to get my car the movie had been removed from my dvd player and of course was no where in sight. Very over priced and took over an hour for an oil change and carwash that they told me would take 20 min. read more
