Oftentimes Arab corner markets are not a pleasant experience for Black Americans. We used to think it was because of the language barrier.. however it is common for most Arabs to be impatient and less welcoming when dealing with them in store. I've been here twice. Once awhile back and second time recently. Both times I've been very disappointed. The first time my son got a Reese's Cup that was so old and expired. We went back in to let him know and to ask for a refund. He wouldn't refund but told him to get a different candy bar instead in exchange for it. He wasn't the nicest guy either. So my son picked a different candy bar and when we got in the car, he opened it and that one was old and dusty too! Then the second time we went in and paid way too much for our little snacks. Got home and it was also expired! I'm not sure why they don't check the expirations on their items. Isn't it illegal to sell expired food items? I will never go there again. read more

The owner was friendly and very talkative which was nice. The store was clean and have a wide variety of items if you didn't want to go to the local grocery store. Anything from milk and eggs to , personal care products, and of course wine and liquors. One thing I did notice was that the items marked with prices didn't matched what I was being charged? It seems that everything was $1 to $2 difference, wasn't much to complain about but in the future if the owner can check the prices they have down. :) read more

This is a great neighborhood market always friendly staff and they have just about everything you need if you happen to run out of something and don't want to take that trip to a grocery store way out of your way. Great alcohol selection as well and it's walking distance so no need to risk drinking and driving read more

After what seemed like months of waiting for this place to open, it finally happened. I was overjoyed to see the door open & waiting for me to walk in to survey all they have to offer. I was pleasantly surprised to note many of my favourite items stocked: Cheetos Hot Fries, mostly all the Arizona Iced Tea flavours, & Snickers Ice Cream bars (just to name a few). I'm pleased to note that they are awaiting their license to sell alcohol & hopefully won't be long. This store is a great addition to the area & I will be a frequent patron. read more

This place was alright... I guess. You can find the basics here as well as your alcohol. Woo. But, when it comes to the customer service, blahhh. It was either hit or miss. One guy is always on the phone, the other is overbearingly asking for number and the other is nice. Like I said, hit or miss. The prices for certain things (i.e., beer, soda, frozen items, milk, etc.) are close to double the price at Vons or Walmart, so I suggest riding your bike or driving your car the mile to get to Walmart or Vons to get those items. Overall, this place is perfectly located (if you live nearby in Villagio or Teresina), but there are some aspects of this business that is off-putting. read more

This place is the nearest "liquor store" to me so I frequent it pretty often. It is quite small, but how long do you really stay inside a liquor store for? They have a great selection of beers and wine. The guys at the register are as friendly as a liquor store clerk can get, and they're quick. A plus, they sell hookahs and hookah supplies! *Parking is in front, however you might not always find parking to due Valentino's customers. They finally did it!!!! Alcohol has arrived!!!!(excuse my over-dramatization).. Discovered this by accident when I was walking by the other night and noticed that they had a big glowing sign that read "Beer and Wine". Ducked my head in and saw that they were in the middle of converting the original "Villagio Mart" to a beer and Wine only location and moving the convenient store (soda,chips,lotto etc..) to the building next door. Spoke to the owner,(who was an Awesome Guy) who explained to myself and my wife on how they we're going to start carrying Fine Wine and CRAFT BEER!!!!! Yes, he said the magic words "CRAFT BEER", Finally a local spot where you can grab something other than "The Champagne of Beers". Though there selection of Craft Beer was still in its infancy, I was told that it would be growing substantially in the coming months.. Local "Hop Heads" be aware this could be what we have been waiting for,only time will tell.... So go out and support the new "VILLAGIO BEER AND WINE", I know I will. read more

This is probably my favorite place to go if I want a small snack walking distance and not that pricey. I would always go there if I want to get some candy drinks and other things like that. This makes it cheaper than going to any other gas station and convenient stores always a great place to go. Recommend this place to you thank you. read more

Shitty service, guys are douches for no reason and overcharge for everything. There's a 50 cent fee just for debit which considering the prices is ridiculous. All together just go here for convenience but don't expect any good prices or service cuz these guys are some rude people who like to talk crap about people in a different language right in front of their faces. read more

05/18/2016 I was checking my bank account and noticed one day I was charged three times for the same transaction. It was only $6.78 (Times 3). Why is it that every store I have been in and owned by Middle Eastern people. They always want to short change you. Well this one was no exception. I purchased a pack of gum and paid with a hundred dollar bill and the cashiers technich was to talk to me to distract me when giving me my chance. However I proceeded to count it and before I finished counting the guy was already apologizing and handed me a five dollar bill.... Do not trust them count your cash before leaving the store. Horrible market! Way overpriced and 2 extremely rude men who work there. They watch you as you shop as if you are about to rob them. I don't recommend this place as a go to. I'd rather drive an hour to buy a quick soda then to spend my money at this dump. Very unprofessional and overpriced. They also don't ID everyone when purchasing alcohol. As a high schooler who lives in the area, I find that the Villagio Mart's location deems quite convenient. Other than that, I found that their customer service was terrible. They looked down on me as if I didn't have the brain to figure out how much they were ripping me off. The cashier, seeming to have lacked basic math skills as well as the ability to multitask, casually stayed on the phone as if I didn't exist. Not only that, but he lacked the respect that a storeowner should have. As i finally he got his attention, he took my dollar drink as well as my money, giving me change that was completely wrong. As i remember, $5 - $1 = $4? I thought to myself that 50 cents wouldn't cut it. As i politely asked for the right change, he bluntly asked me to get out of his store, and returned to his phone call. As a customer who finds it difficult to make their way, I find it offensive that he didn't allow me the chance to collect the money that I had rightfully earned. I don't plan on shopping their anytime soon, and I hope that others don't go through the frustrating experience that I went through as well. read more

I love Villagio Mart! It is in walking distance from my home and whenever I run out of a common item I need to finish making a meal I can just walk right over. Always fully stocked with everything I need from ice cold drinks on a hot day to a sweet treat.The owner , management and staff are all such very sweet , kind people who really make an effort to get to know their customers and neighbors. Once or twice I have failed to take enough cash downstairs with me to make my Friday night "beer run " and they so oh dont worry next time. Like have you ever been anywhere else that works on a good faith system?! They make a point to make each customer feel welcomed and appreciated. Prices are very reasonable from milk to eggs to beer etc. Comparable to Wal-Mart pricing but with GREAT SERVICE!!!! I have to say I also very much appreciate their honesty. I have on a few occasions left things behind such as my bank card, iPhone, and just recently cash. Each and everything has been returned to me. Most recently when i left the cash I had no clue it was even missing but when i walked in the owner and staff were all excited and saying " Mija we found your money." "We have been saving it for you." That made me feel GREAT! Talk about integrity. They are also very kid friendly. I go in with the little ones from time to time when they are visiting us and they spoil them rotten! These are wonderful people and they deserve much success and happiness.
