Just dropped in because I needed a car wash. I pumped gas and added the car wash to my bill but it didn't give me an option to chose one. The gas prices are high compared to the gas stations down the road so I only pumped a couple dollars. After pumping gas I had to go inside which I rarely do to pay for the car wash. The cashier charged me and I got my car wash code. I pulled into the car wash and it did not start. I gave it a couple more minutes but ultimately had to go inside to tell the cashier it was not working. He was confused and asked me what gas pump was not working. I told him the car wash was not working. He looked at me and said "where is your receipt I can't help you if you don't have it". Mind you he just sold me the car wash less than 5 minutes ago. I told him it was in the trash by the area you put the car wash code. He told me "GO GET IT". I could of walked off at this point but that was $$ I would be giving them for free. So I went dumpster diving and got my receipt. When I walked in he had a copy of my receipt in his hand and I gave him the one from the trash. At this point I was already frustrated so I asked for my money back. He refused and told me he was not going to give me my money back because I did something to the car wash. I looked at him and said the machine is not working I want my money back. He told me to talk to his manager who was putting prices on items inside the store. She did not argue and completed the transaction to return my money back. The machine would not allow it to come back to my card so they had to give it to me in cash. The man counted the money from the register and threw it on the table. I grabbed my money and walked out. THIS LOCATION HAS LOST A REGULAR CUSTOMER. Purchased 7 car wash codes and the codes were never used. Found out it is no longer valid in the car wash machine. The store manager told me they can't provide new code because it's expired, even with the original receipt to show the transaction. The original receipt doesn't show expiration date for car wash. The store does not put notice on the gas showing there is expiration date either. How customer can know the code will go expire if not use in time?? Requiring every customer to ask the staff is the only productive way to avoid the problem, per the Store Manager. In other words, when customer didn't know there would be an issue later, they should prevent in advance. Not happy with the customer service, keep blaming customer for not using the code in time. He said mask first so I went and got a mask then I wrote it down on my hand so would not forget it cuz I couldn't hear him through his mask and he got irate with me. So I'm at Chevron, almost out of gas, and the pumps are refusing to take everybody's credit cards due to network problems. To top it off, I'm already running late in meeting up with somebody. Darn you, Murphy's Law. Gas isn't cheap, and that's especially true of Chevron. I normally fill up at Costco, but lately Costco gas has been giving my old car indigestion. So I pony up and fill up at this Chevron, which is usually one of the cheaper Chevrons in Sunnyvale. Their gas has Techron, a detergent additive that helps my engine run cleaner with less flatulence. Speaking of clean, I can always count on Chevron to have squeegees and towels so that I can clean the grime off my windshield. It's not fun (for me or for the objects/people I run into) being blinded by glare when the sun hits said grimy windshield. Too bad all gas stations that do provide squeegees no longer seem to provide soapy water. This isn't the good ol' days my grandfather knew when you would practically get a full tune-up, a live jazz band and a free steak when you pulled into the gas station. All for a nickel. Nowadays you'll be lucky to find toilet paper in the bathroom. So if your whip gets cranky and starts needing the good stuff, this isn't a bad place to fill up. When every single gasoline station in the heart of Sunnyvale seems to run out of available pumps, I go to this station. What an intro. Oh but it's true. There was this one time (at Band Camp), the same situation occured and I drove to this Chevron and it was closed! This station never seems to run out of terminals. I usually drop by and fill up during the morning, after my Middle School carpool duty. It is located right along Fair Oaks avenue and somehow not easily noticed unless you're from here or is really desperate to get gas. Never full. There's a carwash option right before the option to print out the receipt. I haven't tried the carwash though...I believe it is a drive-thru. Traffic is rarely heavy on the way to this one. It's right in the intersection of Fair Oaks and Arques, if I am not mistaken... What? Where? Exactly. Not a lot of stuff to say about this gasoline station as of this time. I recently visited this Chevron location because I had to make a quick pitstop at a gas station to vacuum my car. Usually, I'd go to the Chevron on Mathilda near the 101, but this location was a bit closer to me. This Chevron is located on N Fair Oaks Ave near the 101. It's conveniently located near Downtown Sunnyvale, and so if you are planning on going shopping around the area, this isn't a bad gas station to fill up. In terms of the service, the cashier was very approachable and nice. I came in asking for 4 quarters from a $20 bill, and she was nice enough to do it quick without asking any questions. I was very excited to find out that the vacuum station here is only $1 for 5 minutes. That's HALF of what it usually costs me at the Mathilda location ($2). Even though that's barely any difference, I love the surplus. Overall, I had a decent experience at this Chevron. There weren't too many customers, which was good because I wanted to take my time cleaning my car. The location is great, the price to vacuum was perfect for me, and the service was fine (didn't even yell at me for taking their soapy water without buying gas!). This Chevron is at the corner of N. Fair Oaks & E. Arques, diagonally across from Little Michoacan Taqueria. Rather new,less than a year old. Despite the premium in real estate, it's on a huge lot with 12 pumps with a car wash in the back and still plenty of room to maneuver a large trailer or a tour bus. No on-site mechanic nor garage. As you enter the mart, you'll come face to face with a big row of fridges carrying every beverage in the market. On the extreme left is the unisex restroom & ATM. To the right is the cashier flanked by the Lotto machine and gourmet coffee dispenser. Today's gas prices: $3.939/gal of Supreme with Techron $3.819/gal of Plus with Techron $3.699/gal of Regular with Techron Unfortunately, the car wash was a disappointment although very reasonable at $6 for premium and only $2 for the basic wash & dry. The technology is the floppy tentacles type and the air blower uses a roller mechanism over the roof of your vehicle. I was hesitant to give it a try 'coz my car may just come apart with all the unnecessary contact. It was obvious the air dryer wasn't effective 'cos I spied every vehicle which exit the wash was dripping wet. The drivers had to pull aside to hand dry their vehicles, but then again, it's got a huge lot with plenty of room for that extraneous activity. read more

I didn't think I would be writing a review for a gas station but here we are. This morning my boyfriend goes inside after we get gas, to purchase a single backwood and the attendant tells him at first that they don't have them at all. My boyfriend points out a empty box behind the counter and then the attendant says oh, they're sold out and there's no more in the back (he doesn't even check). So we leave and go to a different store and get one but then we return for something else (not even 10 minutes later) and what do you know, there was a new opened box of single backwoods. Been getting gas here many times over the past couple of weeks. S L O W E S T gas pumps ever!

The gas is a few cents cheaper than elsewhere, but otherwise, this Chevron sucks: 1. The squeegees for washing the windshield have very short handles. Unless you have long arms or a small car, you won't be able to reach to the other side of the windshield. 2. The water in which said short squeegees are dipped has no soap/suds in it. 3. The air hose has no gauge. Good luck guessing your tire pressure. 4. The drive-thru carwash starts at $7! Other Chevron car washes start at $3, and this carwash is nothing extraordinary. Actually, it didn't even pull my car through with its "guiding rail" and the car in neutral. I had to inch forward bit by bit until it grabbed the car close to the very end. read more

Some of the rudest employees I have ever encountered. I am a two time a week customer, one or two the the employees are nice, but they balance that our with a couple of other employees with attitude issues. I like using cash, because why not? I go in , ask for $20 on pump number whatever, go pump gas and it stops at $2.00. Okay, the guy dropped one digit, honest mistake. Go back inside and this female employee acts like I am stealing gas and I made all of this up. Luckily the guy that took my $20 remembered and then she starts giving me a hard time and asks me what is my problem? I am still pumping gas (but I am not). She finally shuts up and fixes it. Then next time I go by, shift change and there she is again. I have a $50, ask for $30 on whatever pump and I get "I have no change" Really? not $20 in change at all? She has some kind of issue with $50 dollar bills? I suppose I could have waited for another cash customer to drop in, but why bother. And just went again, 11/4/16, there she is again. This station is conveniently located, but that's about all it has going for it. As another reviewer noted, it takes forever from the time you swipe your card to the time you can start pumping your gas, due to the numerous questions you have to answer. Worse, though, is the car wash - note that if you buy a car wash at the pump (with gas purchase, of course), you are paying the price for a wash without gas purchase (so you pay $7 dollars for the express wash instead of the posted price of $6). Very misleading. Also, I just recently tried their vacuum. The vacuum head seems to be missing, so you just have the circular tube opening. This makes it quite ineffective for vacuuming rugs and seats. Plus, you could easily accidentally suck up something that you didn't intend. What a rip-off. I used to stop here a lot because of the convenient location, but I think I'm at a point where I'll just go somewhere else, thank you. read more

I came through the automatic car wash today. They have three options - $7 basic, $8 with an extra wash, and $9 with two extra washes and a wax job. I decided to treat my car to a nice wash and wax and selected option 3. The car was out in 15 seconds with only 1 wash, still wet, and no wax. I'm nearly out of gas and we've been waiting 10 minutes only to have the attendant come over and rip all 5 pump out of service signs off and tell no one who was waiting in line that they were even open. RR I had to go in to pay. The automatic station was not working. The employees were nice though.

Their car wash SUCKS. I went through it in my RX8 and it pulled my car against the left side of the rail and scratched up and RUINED the two left side wheels (aftermarket... very damn expensive). I've been through it a few times with no problems but now this... it's ridiculous. The car wash doesn't do a very good job of cleaning the car either. It's VERY cheap and you get what you pay for. The wheel wash did absolutely nothing to clean my wheels... so weak man... so weak. The gas prices are always good (as good as the Chevron on Lawrence and Duane usually) but they don't give a cash discount. Whatever.
