We paid to feed the bison, not realizing they would give you food for free on the train ride. That was a bit frustrating, but you can add the food they pass around to your bag so you have plenty to give to the bison. Our kids had a fantastic time and it was a lot of fun feeding the bison on the train. I think this is a great activity to do in the area with kids and it was definitely a highlight in our trip. The gift shop was fun to visit on our way out. Highly recommend!

The Terry Bison Ranch is the only place I have ever heard about where you can hand feed Bison. They also have other things to do here. We got here an hour and a half before our train departed and we have plenty to do. They have lots of animals on this ranch from full grown ostriches and baby ones, a long horn cow, plenty of chickens, baby bison that you can pet, lots of horses, goats, and much more. On the ride over to feed the bison, they had a train robbery reenactment which was fun. The whole train ride takes about an hour to make sure to use the restrooms before getting on. It's a great place to bring kids. Prices were reasonable. $20 per adult $10 for kids to ride the train and $10 for bison feed which is a must. They give you a decent amount of food in the bag. No reservations needed you can buy tickets at the general store. There they have plenty of souvenirs to buy and can answer any questions you may have. An easy day trip from Denver. If you are on a roadtrip I'd recommend stopping here if you are heading to Wyoming from Colorado or vice versa.

We enjoyed the Wyoming Museum, the Depot Plaza area and Depot Museum, multiple restaurants, and the Capitol building, as well as longstanding businesses and buildings (have posted many other reviews and photos). We were awestruck at the number of public art installations, including murals and statues. There were oftentimes statues on each of the four corners of a street intersection and just too much to see in a day. I look forward to returning here and walking through the downtown area to see much, much more. The parts of the city that we encountered appeared to be clean and well maintained and very walkable. Essentially there's eighteen boots, all decorated by different artists, scattered throughout Cheyenne. The idea is to visit them all and see the surrounding places--sort of a public art scavenger hunt, if you will. You can get a map of their locations at the Cheyenne visitors center, or download one from the Visit Cheyenne website. Unfortunately, I was only able to see/find three in our short stay in Cheyenne, but hopefully this is still around when we visit again.

The manager couldn't care less about anything. The sites are not maintained. He couldn't tell us where the hook ups were. There are free running dogs and dog poop everywhere. This was our 1st time at a B&B type property and what a great experience it was…read more The decor and ambiance of the renovated 1800's farmhouse was amazing. We could imagine John Wayne being right at home here. Loved the decor in our room and the bed was very comfortable. Learning about some of the history of this property and surrounding areas from Cowboy Bob was an added bonus. Fishing and wine on the bridge - one of the many unique amenities at Whiskey Belle. Fishing was great. The bridge has been converted into a rustic outdoor dining area complete with a camp fire. The resident canines "Mist" and "Double Shot" were so friendly and we enjoyed watching them play. Breakfast was to notch and delicious, made with love and fresh ingredients. Our favorites were the homemade quiche and the palisades peach jam. We actually felt as though we were visiting with friends. Bob & Alana were the perfect hosts from our first contact with them to our wave's goodbye. We will definitely be coming back to the Whiskey Belle...hopefully very soon! Little America has long been a staple of the Cheyenne community, and I've stayed here several times…read morethroughout my life. Unfortunately, my most recent visit left me a bit disappointed. While the property still has its classic charm, it feels like it hasn't kept up with the times. Many areas are beginning to show their age, and the overall experience felt a little worn. The restaurant was decent but didn't stand out. With some thoughtful renovations and updates, this hotel could truly shine again. I can't help but wonder if a larger hotel brand might one day invest in the property and restore it to its full potential. Little America is a unique gem with so much history and character--it deserves a fresh chapter.

We stayed at Best Western Cheyenne for 1 night on the way to Lincoln, NE, and then again during our…read morereturn trip 6 days later. On both nights, they assigned us room 217. What are the chances of that? The good thing is that we were familiar with the room. The bad thing is the problem we had from our 1st night had not been fixed by the time we returned 6 days later. The hotel has the kind of bathroom where the shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles are pump bottles mounted to the shower wall. That's all great until we tried to take a shower on our 1st night and discovered that the conditioner pump was broken. Nothing came out of it, despite the bottle being a full container. The good : -- The bed is firm and comfortable; we slept well. -- The chair in the room had a nice firm cushion and was comfortable. The ottoman was firm, too. -- The lower height of the top of the dresser drawers (under wall mounted TV; see photos), was great for putting bags on it. It's not too low on the floor, but also not too high as the desk. This makes it a comfortable height to rummage through the bags. -- Microwave in room, always nice to have. -- Free wifi. -- Free standard breakfast, including some hot items (eggs, protein). -- Full size pillows (instead of tiny square ones we got at the hotel we stayed the night before in Elko, NV). -- Shower water pressure is decent. Shower head is mounted high, such that someone 6 ft tall can use it. -- Plenty of parking. -- There is an Outback Steakhouse within walking distance, so you don't have to drive anywhere far if you're feeling lazy. The bad : -- Full bottle of conditioner, mounted to shower wall, had broken pump. Nothing came out of the pump. -- Fridge in room, always convenient. However the fridge in our room never felt like it ever got cold even when set to coldest. Bottles of soda never get cold. I was worried about the leftover food we put into the fridge (pizza, pasta, etc) because the fridge was more warm than cold. It could possibly be a food safety hazard. -- Door's lock does not fully engage into the slot in the door frame. It stops just short of it. When you open the door and turn the knob, you can see that the latch extends further out. When you close the door and turn the knob, you see the latch come out part way and stops. This suggests that the latch doesn't align with the slot it is supposed to fit into. This is a safety issue. -- The hotel (ground level lobby area) smells like nail polish remover. The not quite deal breakers : -- No coffee maker in the room (no biggie since I usually don't use the provided coffee makers) . Instead, they provide coffee/tea in the lobby 24/7, however the liquid coming out of them were always lukewarm when I went down there late at night. -- No luggage rack. As I get older, I appreciate not having to bend down to rummage through a suitcase on the floor. -- No clock by the nightstand. -- The bathroom lacks a rack for hanging bath towels. You only get the hook on the bathroom door. -- Ice machines are on the 1st floor & 3rd floor (inconvenient when staying on 2nd. floor). Other things to note : -- Laundry room has 2 washers & 2 dryers -- Pool room has a convenient restroom Overall it was not bad, especially when we used points for both stays at this hotel. .
