This exceptional welcoming complex rocks. It combines a comfortable venue for travelers with spacious and clean bathrooms and an amazing interior loaded with Wyoming information. It's gorgeous and modern, just miles into Wyoming as you cross into the state and about a mile south of Cheyenne. Be careful of the wind when you leave your vehicle. There is plenty of parking and an area for dog walks and a restful gnosh outside your vehicle. A gazillion brochures are tastily available to the right of the entry. The floors are loaded with cool artwork. The restrooms are immaculate and modern. Great artwork and some incredible history are labeled throughout. There is free WiFi.

Most effort ever seen in a visitor's center. Displays about the local area and attractions were well done, like a mini museum. Postcards and stickers are free. Very clean bathrooms too.

It's a lovely rest stop and welcome center. Even from the highway you know it's gonna be good. They have potable water and picnic area outside, water fountains inside along with family bathrooms, men's and women's bathrooms, educational and visual information about Wyoming, along with cultural and historical information, and wildlife tidbits. They have interactive displays and pamphlets galore about state parks, trails and hiking and much more. Didn't have much time to investigate but looks like a full service one stop shop for info. Definitely a place to stop along the route to take care of your needs!!

Jessica has this place top notch. It was a great, clean place to have a stop and go to the restroom. It's along the "Blue Star Highway". I WOULD stop again.

Clean and quick spot to park, rest and use the restrooms. There is plenty of parking and even some history to learn around the property. I enjoyed taking a photo with the large Wyoming sign!

Similar to the Colorado Welcome Center a few miles south, this one is located off the highway and there's a roundabout involved. Other than that, easy enough to access and get back onto the highway. It's a few miles from everything and that makes it quiet and ideal for a quick rest. The facility is very nice and very clean.

Crossing from Colorado into Wyoming, you notice the "Welcome to Wyoming" sign on I-25 northbound. A few miles away, the state visitor center / rest stop sign appears. It was a good time to take a break from driving, especially when you're coming from Denver / Longmont. The decision to stop here was a good one, since I didn't know that this visitor center was a mini museum as well. It did seem like we were in the middle of nowhere though, but at least there was civilization and shelter from the elements, among other factors. Restrooms are good here, as I'm sure many travelers know well, but sadly, I don't think there's any viable wifi for public use. I arrived here on my way towards Cheyenne and needed to take a break from the drive from Denver/Longmont on a brisk Tuesday morning. There was a few people parked at this rest stop and the mini museum was as quiet as a library on any given day. There were plenty of artifacts and exhibits to comb through. I probably have spent about an hour here, marveling and reading about the area's fascinating roots and the how Wyoming came to be over the decades before and since statehood. It was quite informative to see how this territory had organized from the Louisiana purchase of 1804 to a vibrant state it is today. They also have a tourism outpost here, but I didn't get a chance to visit. They have brochures of what's good to see on southeast Wyoming. This Wyoming welcome center / rest stop is located right off I-25 northbound from Denver, Colorado. Can't miss it really. It's a few miles from the state line. I'm glad that they do not charge admission for the mini museum, so that's always a good thing. There is plenty parking slots here, so there's usually a chance you can get a spot. :) The overall experience here at the southeast Wyoming state visitors center / rest stop is as good as the rest of them. There was a couple of staff here that will answer any questions and concerns you may have. I happen to love the mini museum here and browsed quietly before leaving to Cheyenne and taking a selfie with the sign that's at the entrance. It was surely educational and made me smile to where I can connect what I learned in school many years ago to the exhibits adorned here. That light bulb moment is all I needed to make history come alive. If you are road tripping through Colorado and into Wyoming, consider stopping here for an enlightened visit. Recommended after resting up a bit after a drive and using the facilities. The visitor center and rest stop is as immaculate as they come. Beautiful building and it's not just another outpost. 5.0 stars for the entire experience. Worth it and it's free. Support local! A+

    Full of various exhibits!

This spot is open. I used the bathroom. We got some water today. It was clean. There are things to look at inside it.

And seriously, you let Toot help you with your hair?" ― Jim Butcher, Skin Game Probably one of my favorite public art projects I've come across. Essentially there's eighteen boots, all decorated by different artists, scattered throughout Cheyenne. The idea is to visit them all and see the surrounding places--sort of a public art scavenger hunt, if you will. You can get a map of their locations at the Cheyenne visitors center, or download one from the Visit Cheyenne website. Unfortunately, I was only able to see/find three in our short stay in Cheyenne, but hopefully this is still around when we visit again.

Your car license plates are sufficient. Park Rangers will check your plates to ensure you have the annual pass. The gentleman (volunteer) at the Visitors Center shared this information with me. I loved that he had a good sense of humor and was personable. We shared some good laughs together. I recommend going inside the Visitors Center to check out their wildlife display and to get helpful information for your visit to the park. There is also a small gift shop area to purchase books, maps and souvenirs. Staff will give you a free map of the park. There is also public restrooms at the Visitors Center. There is also a nice telescope inside the Visitors Center and a nice viewing deck with historical signage. I always enjoy reading this information for its historical value. I always learn something new. The roads in the park are all dirt so plan ahead for washing your car later. There are various parking lots to park your car before wandering off on trails. There are a lot of lovely views around. Have your camera or phone ready to take those landscape or perhaps wildlife photos. I didn't see any wildlife in the park today. I would've hiked various trails but I've been recovering from some injuries. Next time! I would love to return here. I very much enjoyed my visit to Lory Park. If you haven't been here, visit before the next snowfall! The weather was nice today so I felt fortunate. So glad I stopped here.
