Having been diagnosed with LPP/scarring alopecia, my self-esteem was vanishing as quickly as my hairline. She created a new hairstyle by cutting off small pieces at a time so that she could make it all come together. **SCAM PRODUCT FOR YOUR HAIR AND POOR SERVICE!!** I came to the salon with damaged hair from a previous stylist. At first, Melissa assured me that she would help, and I trusted her. It was very disappointing to realize that she just took advantage of my situation to make money. Melissa suggested ordering the best extensions and placing them on my head. I was excited and came to the salon very happy. However, the experience started poorly as she was late and very nervous. She didn't explain anything well and started applying the hair right away without unboxing it in front of me or showing the product. When I asked questions about how to care for the extensions, she said she would answer later. She didn't reply later because she just dropped me off and took another customer. I shared my frustrations with the owner, Jenn, because Melissa didn't finish her job. I had to come back a few days later, even though I paid around $2,000 for their services. From start to finish, the service at Chic Hair Studio Boca Raton was substandard and unprofessional. Melissa's communication was poor, her explanations were awkward, and she was often tardy and dismissive of my inquiries. Her lengthy nails caused physical discomfort, and she mishandled my hair, failing to use necessary protective measures. Additionally, Melissa diverted her attention to another client mid-session, which added to my frustration. The most concerning issue arose with the hair extensions I purchased. After a single wash using the product sold to me by the salon, the extensions turned orange. This was alarming, especially since my previous extensions from "Dream Catcher" maintained their blonde color for a year without any issues. Moreover, I was never given the chance to inspect the packaging or verify the brand, raising serious doubts about the authenticity of the product. Melissa's claim that I should have requested this verification is completely unreasonable; it is her responsibility to ensure transparency and quality. When I asked Melissa for details about the extensions during a subsequent appointment, she claimed she didn't know the specifics. This is highly unprofessional, especially for someone who has worked with these products for years and asserts their quality. After I sent an email about the extensions turning orange after one wash with a product the salon sold me, Jenn, the owner of the salon, simply blamed me and accused me of using tanning lotion on the hair. Due to the poor quality of service and the subpar extensions, I am now forced to remove the extensions and pay for replacements from another source. This additional expense and the time lost have been incredibly inconvenient and detrimental to my professional obligations. I initially refrained from posting a review in hopes of reaching an amicable resolution. However, given the lack of satisfactory response, I feel compelled to share my experience. I spent $1,982 in the salon and had the worst experience of my life. I normally don't post reviews about salons but my experience here was so amazing I couldn't not to! I actually found this place through Groupon (for a haircut, blow dry and deep conditioning). When I called to make an appointment, I actually spoke with Mary Liz, the owner of the salon who was very nice. Everything from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out was phenomenal. I was greeted by their beautiful receptionist Jessica, who was so sweet and asked if I had an appointment. I told her I did and she then brought me to meet Mary Liz who would be taking care of my hair. Jessica offered me immediately something to drink which I loved and she made me the most delicious blood orange mimosa while I sat down to get my hair cut. I told Mary Liz I just wanted a trim and some dusting on my layers, not a full cut or anything. She listened intently and got to work and the result was awesome! My layers came out nice and flowy and my hair was revived with movement once again. I got to meet their gorgeous esthetician Kat who I must give credit to for all the fun, beautiful photos they took of me and my beautiful hair afterwards! It was so much fun! I'm so happy with my hair but honestly the service and friendliness of Mary Liz and her staff is what made the experience that much more enjoyable especially during these rough times.
