I called the salon based on previous stories here on yelp. I asked for pricing and was not given any because they say every technician is different. I have lived here in Boca Raton for almost 30 years. I know the prices of salons . I got a full head of highlights and base no blow dry after my service and by the way Shelley did a great job it was practically $300, which is probably $100 more than most places here in Boca, although I'm very happy with the service I think the pricing is totally overpriced. I have not paid more than $200 in New York, Washington DC or Miami. As I was standing at the checkout counter, I asked if they had any sort of pricing list the woman said no so it seems to me they can charge whatever they want. I will not return. read more

Update: It's taken me a while to write this review as I debated whether or not my experience was worth sharing, however since it's been a little over a month and I'm still very upset about my hair, I realize someone else could benefit from my experience. I drove an hour from Miami Beach after a friend and I both had a great experience in June 2016 and it was my first time back in a salon since then. Tanya was expecting me and I quickly explained that I wanted a trim with long layers, while maintain the length of my hair ( accepting that approximately 2 inches be removed), and some highlights to brighten my face. It seems simple, but in retrospect, I should have seen some red flags that I ignored by thinking that my request was simple enough. Tanya is a quick worker, and due to the chair being so low, It wasn't until she was near the front of my head that I realized how much she was actually cutting. Despite me voicing my concerns that It felt much shorter than I wanted, she insisted it was still VERY long and she barely cut. Again, because I've had a great previous experience I trusted her and continued on to the highlights. She was attentive while the foils were in my hair, which I appreciate, however the result was a BRIGHT orange color. Immediately I tell her I needed to go darker, and two toners later it still looks the wrong color but at this point she tells me that any darker and it would be like I did not do anything to my hair. Again, I choose to believe her and decide since It had now been over 2 hours, it was time for me to leave and I would just blow dry it at home. Not only was my hair still orange and had a very " tiger stripes " look to it, but my previously long hair is now awkwardly chopped. Perhaps I just had bad luck, but I will not be returning. The first time I heard about gloss salon was through a friend, and although I didn't have an appointment when I walked in, they were able to squeeze me in to see Amanda. What I really loved about the experience is that unlike other places I've been to in the past, she made sure I always knew that she was nearby and came back to check on how the color progression was going. 10's Across the Board for Dror! I was looking to make a huge change with my hair for the summer and wanted to try a salon closer to where I lived. After looking up salons on Yelp, I found some high rating reviews coming from Gloss Salon here in Boca Raton as well as a beautiful profile with tons of pictures of clients styled by Dror. I really like this salon! I recently had to switch because my old place was too far away. This place is right by my house so I gave it a shot based off reviews etc. Maria did my hair and my husbands. That's another thing I love, being able to go somewhere my husband can get his hair done too. I was so nervous for a new person to do my highlights but I was blown away. Hands down the best person to ever do my highlights specifically. She's so thorough and takes her time and pays allllllll the attention to detail. I never realized what my previous stylists were lacking until coming here. Another guy who works there who might even own it, was giving my hair tips and advice and I was eager for all the tips lol I've been back twice now and so had my husband and by the way, HIS HAIR HAS NEVER LOOKED BETTER EITHER. Moved to Florida a little over 2 years and have been searching for a hair stylist that was equal to the one I left back home who I had been going to for 35 years. I went to all high end salons starting w Oribe and ending w anything in Boca and Delray to find the right colorist who doesn't make my ends different color than the rest of my head. I called and asked for a same day appointment- they said "come on in!" Stefani was my stylist- she is an absolute professional. She is so kind and the first thing out of her mouth was "I love doing bob haircuts" (YESSSS!!) I have since been back two times and I always leave with an ear-to-ear smile. Stefani always cuts my hair EXACTLY how I want it cut. I can't say enough about this amazing stylist. The prices aren't too steep- about $65 for a cut and $80 for color (short hair), I was impressed! I met with Maria for the first time for a major change. She gave me a great haircut and full highlight. She cut my hair just like the picture I showed her and the color turned out perfect. I am always concerned because I have dark brown curly hair (and some stylists don't know how to handle the cut for curly haired girls or color on dark haired girls) I am sooo happy with the results! I'm not one to complain but I am very disappointed. I asked for an ombre/balayge look and a hair cut. My hair cut was great but my color was not. So they told me I could go back to get it fixed and make it look like what I requested free of charge (I knew it would not look as light but wanted the style)... After going back, I look worst than before. Ive been crying and so sad because I'm leaving the country and don't have time to go see someone else to fix my look. I will be dying it myself one color bc I can't stand the tiger look. I must add that I have alot of natural red in my hair and previous stylists in a different state were able to ensure I did not look copper. Im just at a loss because I have successfully had the ombre/ballayage look before. Without going into details, this was the second worst haircut of my life. I have short hair and am miserable.

Expect to wait and to not even be offered apologies for it. The front desk packs in the appointments. I've been coming here for a year and have never started on time. When I mentioned this I was literally yelled at by the stylist. The services are good but don't expect to be pampered, made to feel special or have your time and your own schedule respected. If those things are important to you, then this isn't the salon for you. Today's experience between the unapologetic tardiness and being yelled at for asking for my time to be respected was the last straw. I won't be back. read more

Researching colorist reviews, I found Dror at Gloss Salon to be the best. Told he was booked four days out, I took the appointment. The photos show my distress which clearly came through my voice because hours later a call came that he would take me at the end of the day if I was willing to wait. I walked in and his receptionist, mother, lovely lady, looked up and said, you are not the first and you will not be the last. Dror will fix it; my eyes teared.  Observing him with his client gave me a clear sense of his easy confidence as he listened to her wishes, explained what he would do, then proceeded to give the most meticulous cut I have ever witnessed. I sat down and explained my longtime colorist had bleached my hair orange, citing that inexplicably my hair would not lift. Two days later I called, he said he could fix it. Weary seeing the bleach I said, can you repeat that within two days without damage? This will be fine he assured me. Well, not only did it make the orange more garish, but it broke off a major amount of my hair. Dror explained about some non-harmful products he had that may work, no guarantee, but he wanted to try before using anything stronger. Well, as you can see, two hours after closing, the products with his expertise worked brilliantly. It's the start of a long process that requires having no highlights for at least six months. He plans on adding a series of low lights to negate the orange and give it back some depth. Finding Dror and Gloss Salon makes me feel like I found a home for my haircare as well as a new friend. He customizes your haircut and color based on your face shape and even the color of your eyes. His attention to detail is like no other stylist I've ever met. My friends and family who have visited agreed that he can give you celebrity hair. I get so many compliments on my color and cut! I swear he works magic. I have lived in South Florida most of my life, in the Jupiter/PBG area. So for a very long time, I went to this one stylist, not so much because of how great he was, but because he had been doing my mom's hair forever and he gave us a really great family discount. Plus the one time, I ventured away, it ended up being awful with a month long of self-pity crying. So I continued going back to my same old place where I was comfortable, my hair always turned out decent and it was cheap. But about two months ago, he did something unforgivable to my mom and me. So, I live in Delray and the scary and stressful search for a new salon began. With-in hours of reading yelp reviews, I finally was between two salons and after emailing both company's the Gloss Salon was by far the winner. Dror the owner got back with me through my email in a half hour. I was stuck in a very bad hair rut, I had not had my hair cut or highlighted in almost a year. He was so great and patient with all my emails, questions and concerns and finally got me set up with him. When, I arrived at the salon it was clean, very welcoming and the even have a little boutique set up in the front. I was offered coffee or something to drink, but I declined I must admit I was a tad nervous, new salon and new hair dresser. Finally, I meet the person behind all the emails and the owner Dror. We sat for about 15 min and had a mini consultation. I just started hearing of baylage, so he explained that to me and it sounded like a plan. He cut off 6 inches and then hand by hand applied the baylage, which is way more intimate then highlights with foil. Then off to the sink where I met another super nice girl, who washed my hair, applied a free deep conditioning treatment and an out of this world head massage. He then shaped, styled and finished my hair cut. He spent five hours making my hair perfect. I even mentioned to him how I always love when girls can curl their hair well, but when I do mine it looks horrible. So he spent extra time curling it and I loved what he said "when you leave a salon, you should have it styled a way you love, but can't do yourself". He was amazing during the whole five hours, we never ran of things to talk about and I felt at home the whole time. Now stay with me, I know this is already super long, but this is what sealed the deal of him becoming my permanent new hair dresser. I always make the mistake of saying that I like it very subtle and natural looking, but in my mind that means something totally different then what I'm really trying to say. A few days later, no one really noticed the highlights bc they were what I asked for subtle and natural. So, I emailed Dror back and he insisted I come in at my earliest convenience and I was scared he was going to be upset or annoyed with me. Nothing could have been further than the truth. He spent another five hours making it exactly what I was trying to convey from he beginning. He was going to style and spend even more time on it but I had to leave to make it to work. When I went to the counter to see what I owed and I was told your all set, it's taken care of, I was in shock. He spend another five hours and more baylage on me for free, just to make me happy. After I hugged him, gave him a tip and thanked him; he said if this turns out to be to light just let me know and we will fix it until it's 100% perfect. All I can say is he is amazing not only as a hair dresser but as a person, as well as the whole staff. I had an appointment last night at 5:45 and just 5 minutes into speaking with him I could tell how passionate he is about his business and his clients. Dror paid very close attention to what I wanted and filled in the gaps with his vision and advice when I was unsure about how to articulate what I wanted. I don't mean to be dramatic but this hair salon changed my life!!! I have been going to Gloss Salon for about 3 years so I decided they deserved a stellar review on Yelp. Now, I can only speak for one hair stylist AKA artist, as I have only received services from one, but before I speak about how AMAZZZING (yes, 3 Z's) Lori Hunter is, I will touch on some general info of the salon. The bathroom: Bathroom???? Whaaaa? Yes, ladies and gents, the bathroom. I am seriously weird, but I feel the way any place takes care of their bathrooms is a direct reflection of their appreciation of their customers. Don't judge me!! Ok, so.... with that being said, Gloss Salon appreciates us. Yay! It's always clean, always smells great (so important), and kind of has a zen vibe...which I love. Vibe of the Salon: Hmm... So this is a tough one. So, 99% of the time the vibe is all love and happiness, but I have noticed a few cat fights happen the last few times I've been in. And only from one stylist too...which is weird because a cat fight usually takes two. Haha. I don't know her name, but trust me, if I find out I will put it up here. :) Im not going to let one crank-box take away from the fact this entire salon is magnificent though!! Customer Service: Casey is the receptionist and she is just a doll!!! The very first time I called the salon for an appointment I spoke with her. She asked me exactly what I wanted done to my hair, details and all, so she could find the perfect stylist for me. It made me feel secure without ever stepping foot in the door.
