A little dirty and lots of homeless hangout, but the food was amazing. Had the chicken wings and a cheese stake and chicken. Pro tip, order ahead. They get backed up.

I'd been meaning to try out Chicago Munchies mostly to test out their Philly cheesesteak - and I was pleasantly surprised. Philly steaks can be a huge miss if the meat is chewy or if the meat to cheese sauce ratio is off - but these guys definitely nailed it. In addition, I was really excited to see that they have a complete zabihah halal menu which only a handful of restaurants in town offer. Each sandwich is decently priced with a large side of fries and a drink. And they have daily specials Monday thru Thursday. Check out my menu pix. Will definitely be back to try out their famous fried fish and other sandwiches!

Tried this place for the first time and my family and I really liked it. Their Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with hot peppers was delicious! My kids enjoyed the cheeseburger and I really liked the double cheese burger with gyros. Everything on the menu comes with fries and drinks and since we didn't need that many drinks they gave us bottled water for the remaining drinks. The lady who helped me with my order was really nice. It's hard finding Halal burger joints here so this one's a keeper.

Great place to stop for fried catfish. Got a combo with fish and chicken wings. Mystery red sauce included along with fries. Made a great meal after TV college football game. Great service with double bags to protect your car seats.

There have been at least 2 or 3 other attempts at a food spot in this location in the 8 years I have been in Kalamazoo, with varying degrees of success. Obviously none of them were successful enough to last. THIS one has some serious potential. The format is a typical urban neighborhood food joint. Mostly fried foods such as chicken, fish, shrimp are the mainstays. They also serve a variety of sandwiches such as versions of the Philly steak, burgers, chicken, fish, polish, and even gyros! The menu is pretty deep for a corner shop. First impressions. Based on previous visits (former food spots) at this spot, I was expecting what I call "shabby hood chic" which is basically clean enough to pass inspection but obviously decor is not a priority. I was pleasantly surprised. The interior is very clean and well lit. The paint scheme is colorful. There is even a flat screen in the ceiling corner that was playing kid friendly movies. Approaching the counter I was immediately greeted by a very friendly counter person. She told me to take my time as I stated I wasn't familiar with the menu. I ended up going with an old staple of mine - fried chicken wings. I use that as a litmus test for neighborhood joints. If they can't do wings well, I'm not trying anything else! It took about 15 minutes or so to receive my order, although there were only 2 other people ahead of me. But that is to be expected, as it's not "fast food" but more "cooked to order". The chicken was absolutely great! The wings weren't tiny. They were plump and juicy and the breading had just enough crunch. As typical, they tend to be heavy handed with the seasoning (unless you request them not to be), but I also typically like that. They have a small self serve area with additional seasonings and condiments, including a mysterious one labeled only as "crack". It smelled tasty so I added that to my order. It tasted fantastic on the wings! I definitely plan to return to try some other items on the menu, although I was warned away from the catfish nuggets by a friend that preceded my visit to Chicago Munchies. According to him, the portion was HUGE but the nuggets were a bit over "hard" and there were bones. Bones in catfish nuggets is a deal breaker for me so I wont be trying them. But there is a whole menu of items I WILL be trying! Looks like Fish Express over on Riverside has a serious contender :) TIP: Parking can be tricky as the small lot is shared by a popular beauty shop/store an a credit union. There are usually open spots near the north entry of the lot, near the dumpster.

600 is such a cute place for a lovely meal!…read more We have been multiple times but stopped in on a recent sunny afternoon for some lunch. 600 is so light and airy, we really love the atmosphere!! We had a really great waitress, I wish I would have gotten her name! She was doing the job of hostess and waitress to multiple tables, and doing it all very well! We ordered a chicken sandwich and a salad for our lunch entrees! Both were very good and presented very well! While the food is good and quality feels high - the price is also on the high side. For a sandwich and a salad, waters to drink, we spent over $50 for our lunch! Just something to be aware of! While we had time - the experience was not fast. Something to be aware of if needing a quick lunch. The restaurant was not overly busy but the wait was a little long to receive our order. I ordered a salmon salad - the menu nor the website specify if the salmon is wild caught or farmed. I would really love to know this information - the price would be much better reflected if it were indeed wild caught. :)

The service was on the slower side and could have used more attention to detail--coffee refills were missed, and we didn't have spoons to stir our coffee. That said, our server was kind and had a gentle, pleasant demeanor. The food overall was very good. Only one person in our group was disappointed--the chicken and waffles were described as dry, with the chicken coating lacking flavor. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, and the desserts were a standout; they were excellent and loved by all. One area that could use improvement is the upstairs bathroom. While it was well stocked with supplies, it needed cleaning. Clear signage for the upstairs restroom and perhaps a nice piece of artwork would also be welcome touches. Overall, a nice brunch experience with great desserts and room for a few improvements.

The kids disappeared into the games so fast I briefly considered filing a missing persons report before realizing they were just... happy. As a parent, I experienced something I hadn't felt in years: finishing an entire meal while it was still warm. I almost cried. The pizza is offensively good. My cardiologist has specifically asked me not to be tagged in any more of my Yelp reviews, but if you're reading this, Steve... mind your own business. Some relationships are worth fighting for, and mine with this pizza is one of them. The beer was fantastic. Every pint tasted like it was brewed by someone who actually enjoys making beer instead of someone trying to impress a guy named Chad who owns three flannel shirts and says things like, "I'm getting notes of pine and emotional unavailability." The place is huge, which is exactly what every parent dreams of. The kids sprinted off to the games, the dog made about 47 new friends, and for a glorious 20 minutes nobody asked me to open a juice box, settle a courtroom-level dispute over whose turn it was, or inspect a mysterious object they found on the floor. I wasn't parenting anymore. I was just a guy eating incredible pizza in public. One Well somehow found the perfect balance between brewery, family hangout, dog park, and therapy session.
