All sandwiches come with fries. If you order during the lunch special time, between 11am - 2pm, Monday - Friday, you get a sandwich w/fries and drink for ONLY 10.99! I ordered the Italian Beef with hot peppers dipped. I can honestly say this sandwich is exactly what you are looking for in a Chicago style Italian Beef. The bread, definitely sliced beef, the giardinera peppers and juice is perfection. The fries are crispy and well seasoned crinkle cut fries. The service is friendly and the order came quickly. And the staff is so sweet and the place is very friendly and clean more people should know about this place the owner is so sweet and he recognized me and my boyfriend the second time we came in and he had the biggest sweetest smile. My husband was next door at second Chance when I got hungry so I came here to grab a bite to eat. I got a beef hot dog, mozzarella sticks and a soda. Nothing fancy but it made my tummy happy. The employee who was working the register was really kind. After I finished my hot dog and was ready to go he asked if I wanted a box for my mozzarella sticks without me saying anything which was great. I also liked the art on the walls, as it really brightened the restaurant up. There was only one other table occupied when I came in, which I assume was because I came in about 11:15. Had the pleasure of trying this restaurant today and boy was it a hit! The menu was incredible. Between Gyros, Philly Steaks and burgers they had it all. I was in a burger mood and went with a single, Fries and drink. The burger was delicious! I like that they flame grill and the toppings were really fresh. Had the curly fries very crispy. The best part was the owner behind the counter. He's been in business for 30 years coming to Kalamazoo for the last 20. In talking to him I loved the fact that he spoke about the community he serves through the restaurant with so much love! Definitely a must try and I know I'll be back ! read more

This place is fantastic! I assume the owner took our order and he was helpful, friendly and appreciative. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and fries. My son had a double hamburger with fries. Both were ready quickly and were hot and fresh. Everything was delicious! There's lots of choices and I cannot wait to go back and try something else the next time I'm in town. I gave this place a try twice. The first time, I had a burger and fries and the second time, a burrito. The burger was beyond mid and the burrito was lowkey disrespectful. There was Philly cheesesteak esque steak in the burrito with relish and mayo. Like what...? The cashiers have a bit of an attitude as well. I definitely will not be coming back. read more

I am wondering how come I have never known this place before ! After I know it now, I think I will become a regular ! Me and my wife were very confused what to eat, then we saw this place saying on its sign outside the have Philly Steak Sandwiches, I've been craving them for months. We went inside, the place inside was normal nothing special, but it did have a nice vibe in it. Their menu has so many planty choices ! They have burgers, hot dogs, gyros, fish dishes and subs. We had : - Footlong Philly Steak Sub - Tilapia Fish with Fries - Mango Lasse for drinks (I was surprised they had this, Mango Lasse is a Mango Yogurt drink, it is originally Indian/Pakistani drink, and it was made like the original one they make, very delicious) What amazed me, is that every dish they made is very super delicious ! Philly Steak Sub was as good as I expected ! And the fish was really delicious compared to many other fish restaurants. And their prices are super good. So, I can't give more than a testament to the one time I visited. I was driving through portage, and through the power of Yelp, Food Street popped up as a possible location to get some food. I went in, expecting a little bit more... but the options were good for a multi-variety style of lunch. However it is very much a deep fried avenue with a grill on top. Cheesesteaks, hamburgers, fries, onion rings, all the american fare type of food you can expect. The particular time that I went in, the place was smoky... as if someone forgot something on the grill. Since moving back to the Kalamazoo & Portage area, we have been trying out new to us restaurants. Last week we ate at Food Street. Absolutely loved their gyro! One of the best I have had in ages. We went for dinner and were the only ones in the dining area. I believe they do more business at lunch time, but I did see a few people stop by for pick up orders. Yummy! My brother recommended this place and I'm so glad. I ordered the gyro and it was AMAZING!! The wrap was warm and crispy and the filing was all over the place but it was worth it. Stopped in today after a workout in Battle Creek with 2 football lineman. I had the Philly Cheesesteak. It was excellent in my opinion. They use a different cheese sauce besides Cheez Whiz and it works. They make your food after ordered. It's not pre-made and then put together, so expect a little bit of a wait. Gave Food Street another try after them being unexpectedly closed the first time I drove there. I'm really glad I did! I tried the Jim Shoe sandwich, which was a really odd combination of corned beef, roast beef, gyro meat, and peppers/sauces. It was fantastic and messy in a good way. My other companions had Italian Beef and a chili dog, and they were fantastic. I highly recommend getting cheese on the beef and having it dipped in jus. I am looking forward to going back and trying the seafood, or a gyro burger, or the Super Steak and Chicken burrito. So many options! read more
