I can only give the outlet four stars as shopping is not something I enjoy, particularly after Christmas! How did I allow my adult children talk me into such craziness? We found decent parking - not in the back lots, but right at the store we wanted to go to, (Nike). The mall was clean, well groomed and given the masses that flock to such places, I could breathe and move about with ease. The Nike store was busy, but manageable and had a little something for everyone - I spoiled my babies and mama too! The store personnel were definitely present - I don't like the feeling of being watched, and followed throughout the store. (Do I look like I'm going to take something?). However, there was a female store clerk who was helpful and gave a "shopping bag" to hold all of the soon-to-be-purchases. She chatted with me as I sat for a bit while my children tried on stuff. The cashier was equally pleasant and efficient. Overall, there were great deals and the uncomfortable experience of shopping with the masses was bearable, although, I can not say I will make it a habit... Wish I could select a specific store instead of leaving this review under the entire outlet mall. Just FYI, some of these stores do not follow the typical expectations of an outlet as in items being sold at retail value with no discount. At places like Clarins for example, they will not allow any item to be returned regardless of reason and accompanying receipt, and you won't be able to accrue or claim points on anything purchased at the outlet even though you are paying the full product price. This mall has a great many stores to shop at with an immense variety meeting everyone's needs, and it's very well kept and clean although there's always the inconsiderate smokers who pollute the air in front of and around the stores, I suppose because it's outdoors? For the size of this mall, it's absurd that there's only one Starbucks at which no matter what time you go, expect to wait over half an hour from waiting in line to ordering to finally getting your drink in hand. Great assortment of stores. But.. We visited on a Sunday the parking was ridiculous. Checkout lines at all the anchor stores were 15-20 minutes. Those two factors made It really hard to enjoy. I'd like to return when it's less crowded. read more

One of my favorite outlet malls. It's an outdoor mall, but it is a great for shopping in the summer and even in the winter since all the stores are next to each other. The prices are unbeatable which makes it our favorite mall to shop at during the holidays. They have all your mall favorites plus a few high end stores including Coach, Vera Bradley, Adidas, Hanes, Cooking stores, and much more. They made the parking lot even bigger so you don't have to worry about parking and it's free of course. read more

One most terrible shopping experience in Gymboree in Chicago Premium Outlets. One cashier who claimed herself as the manager, is extremely rude. She didn't even say hello and even worse, overcharged me by calculating one more item when checkout. Without having my deal done and offering me the receipt, she absentmindedly went on with the next customer's at the same time. Luckily I noticed and returned to have the overcharged back. She did NOT feel sorry and guilty and said anything for her own mistake and asked for the bag, which was used to contain all the stuffs. Nobody shops there would care about the shopping bag and the bag had been put on the desk. Anyway the cashier should be responsible for the mistake she has made. A nightmare like shopping experience in Gymboree! If you see a cashier with no smile on her face there, never go to her! read more

If you're thinking about working for this mall, don't. Security is almost non existent at night when they are needed. I am regularly approached by weirdos when leaving work, who apparently are just allowed to roam the mall at any hour. The amount of times I have fell/came close to falling because they do not salt the employee entrances/garbage area is insane. I have to drag the garbage dolly through snow and ice. Not to mention the GIANT pot holes in the entrance that never get taken care of. There is always trash on the ground in the hallways. There is a running stream of water that drips outside of the employee entrance. Long story short, you won't be happy here. The only time I've ever spoke to security in my 2 year working here was when they confronted us for leaving garbage in the hallway for 1 night, when there are drink cups and debris throughout the hallway that haven't been touched in months. read more

Almost every store you might want to shop in, especially during the Holidays. This was our first visit and literally just around the corner from our house. We headed there after lunch on the Saturday before Christmas weekend. Good sales and while there were a lot of people there, we had only a little searching to find a parking space fairly close in. I was impressed with the frequency of restrooms and cleanliness of the ladies room. I did not purchase any food or beverages but enjoyed my shopping experience and will return when the extreme shopping bug hits again. read more

Ok I have a love hate relationship with the outlet mall. Sure if you look around you can find some great deals here. I really enjoy the addition and they even have a Blackhawks store here. The Armani and Verscae stores are also great. The American Eagle here is much bigger then the one at Fox Valley and so is the Aldo. The stores have a great selection over all. Downsides are that it is outside. It gets really cold here in the winter. Also during the Christmas season it is a no go for me because it gets crazy crowded. The Parking lot is also a disaster. Good look getting a spot on a really nice day or during the Christmas season. For the most part though this is a great outlet mall and in a great location just off i88. read more

Outlet malls are a myth - I believe 80% of the good are found at the same price at other malls, and the fact that it's all chain-dominated....I don't know, I just wish the smaller businesses could make it in an area like this. It's convenient though - they group all the kid stores together, shoes all in proximinity of one another, not bad logistically. The food court is halfway decent. I would be able to stand about two seconds of this place if there were sizable crowds when I went - no way baby. I recommend approaching it via Biltner road and parking in back, near the Ann Taylor sign. read more

I think they have fooled legions of people by adding OUTLET to their name and people by default associate the term with deals, there are no deals there, your chances of finding something at a great price are far more probable at regular mall then here, maybe once in a great moon you will find something decent at few stores but given the effort it wouldn't be much of savings. So in conclusion, decent location, I guess you can grab a bite and coffee or ice cream but there are no bargain deals there.... read more

I'm really not impressed with this mall. I've been quite a few times, and can't believe I haven't written a review yet but here goes: The parking lot sucks!! Everyone is fighting to get a parking space close to the mall on one side of the building not realizing that anywhere you park is really not too bad based on the way the parking lot is made. The side of the mall that you enter off of farnsworth is swamped while the opposite side has tons of space. One would think that with all the hype from the parking lot this mall would be spectacular. Nope. I saw lots of older fashions, and I didn't think the prices were that great. The newer items are basically what you'd pay at the regular mall. I think what excites people is they have stores that are designer specific and most of the indoor malls in the area don't. The only way I'll come back is if I'm with someone who is just dying to shop here and they are driving. read more

I like this outlett mall because of the Coach Store. Really, that is probably the only reason why, but it earns four stars just for that. :) They've got some amazing deals in some of the stores, but you need to have the patience and the time to find the deals. For an "outlet mall" a lot of the places are just like regular stores (Justice, Sketchers, etc). But the stores like Coach are true outlets. If you don't have time to search for the deals, I would recommend going elsewhere. Otherwise, strap on your comfy shoes and find some low prices!! read more

I came early to the Chicago Premium Outlet mall in Aurora Illinois to make a quick return. I arrived at the mall 25 minutes before it's 10 am opening. I was surprised to find that almost all of the front parking spots near the staggered entrances were already taken, obviously by employees of the mall stores. I drove around the entire mall and all of the closest parking spots were occupied. I went into the outdoor mall a few minutes before 10 and there were no shoppers. I called management office and inquired why employees are allowed to take the closest spots. I was told they know and they have tried to get employees to park out further with no luck. Really wonder why shoppers in cold Midwestern winter want to go to and open air mall with longer walks from parking. Shopper experience is a lower priority with this outlet mall. I will choose to shop more locally or on line. read more

Shopping for clothes is definitely not my thing. Especially clothes from fancy stores. When my fiancee said she wanted to trek out to Aurora to go to an outlet mall, I was not very enthused. Luckily for me, Chicago Premium Outlets is a really nice place and has something for everyone. I have found many great deals there and put together entire outfits on the cheap. It is definitely worth checking out especially for guys like me who need some dress clothes but hate shopping. read more

An update to this: Everything else is still 100% true, but since the expansion they did the parking situation is actually pretty fabulous, particularly if you enter off of Bilter Road instead of Farnsworth. We even went there on Black Friday and aside from the typical Black Friday insanity, finding parking really wasn't an issue. This is a total 180 from how the outlets used to be! I love the Chicago premium outlet mall! They have so many stores to choose from, my favorites are the Nike and the ecko store, these are the first two stores I check into every time I come to this mall. If you are looking for a nice coat or leather accessories, make sure you check out the Wilson's store, they have very great deals! My wife always hit up the Coach, Dooney, and the Zales outlets. I come here at least three times a year and each time the trip is always worth it. read more

I LOVE THIS MALL! Really funny story about my latest shopping trip here.... So my friend Sarah and I decided to go shopping on a Saturday afternoon. We jammed out to 90's hits the whole way down, and were literally sweating from all of the car dancing. We pull into the parking lot rocking "Genie in a Bottle" and immediately got stares. We were laughing so hard I thought I was going to pee myself! We FINALLY found a parking spot and we were so into our tunes that Sarah forgot to shut her car off, I've said since day one push start has it's downfalls. We shopped for about 2 hours and when we returned to the vehicle that's when we realized it was still running!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I don't remember the last time I laughed that hard! Seriously, 2 hours!!! Oh my! Anyways back to the mall....They have lot's of athletic stores here, which is nice, but there are only so many cute work out tops you can look at. We visited the Nike store, Puma, Under Armour and got some really good deals. I also love the Gap store at this location, everything is marked down, and marked down really well. I got a $50.00 cardigan for $19.00! On the way out, before our giggle fest in the parking lot, we spotted a real gem.....I mean a real gem people. It was a Reese's vending machine...yes a machine that you insert money and Reese's peanut butter cups come out of. AMAZING! Also, there was a PRINGLES vending machine, ya know in case you can't decide..salty? sweet? They've got it all folks. So I guess all in all they thought of everything and the fact that the car was running for two hours in the parking lot and was still there when we came back says alot for the safety at this mall. A variety of different stores to shop in and there are some pretty good deals in some of the stores. I didn't think they were that great compared to the normal retail stores so unless you live nearby or are travelling through like me, it prob isn't worth driving here just to save a little money. read more

Such a clean mall! There's food options all over. Always end up buying something from here because the store options are amazing. They have all of the basic stores ( Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, Pac Sun) PLUS outlet stores (Nike, Underarmour, home etc.) and house products (home furniture, kitchen wear, bookstores) - a stop shop mall! The sitting areas around the mall is a great addition for those who are waiting on the shoppers! Great overall! The only thing that makes me uncomfortable is the amount of shop lifters. They make me question my safety at this mall. Maybe additional security walking around may help? read more

No parking. Ugh! The parking is a serious problem, so I suggest you go early. Brooks brothers had 25 percent off, but no great deals worth my time. Kate Spade (great deals on the weekends), Coach, Polo Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers', Nike Store, Timberland, Coach, Michael Kors, Ugg, 7 For All Mankind, Carters, Janie and Jack, Swarovski... *deep breath*... that's just a few of the stores they have! The mall is waaaaaay out on the middle of nowhere, so it sucks driving here. I didn't mind too much, as i was with a friend, but seriously... i cannot imagine doing that alone lol. We visited on a Saturday and got there as soon as the mall opened up (10AM). Most of the stores were pretty empty, but Kate Spade had a great deal going on (60% off entire store + extra 20% off handbags)... and we entered the store about 10:45 and it was pretty busy. It wasn't bad enough to put me off though... just generally busy. I haven't visited during holidays but i can imagine it would probably be nuts. The best thing to do when visiting here is to plan plan plan. Premium Outlets have an excellent website that lists all their stores, the map, and even what stores are offering sales/deals and for how long. If u plan ... u will avoid the crowds. We had no issue finding parking... but after visiting the outlet mall by the airport, i defo think they need a parking garage like that. I've read this outlet mall generates a HUGE revenue for Simon Malls.. if that's true, they should totally add the garage. Would change a lot of people's minds about visiting. I had a very pleasant experience doing major shopping here (we were lugging bags back and forth to the car lol). There's a Starbucks and we also had Auntie Anne's pretzels... we didn't go to the dedicated food court. Overall... great experience. read more

My cousins were driving thru from the west coast, heading back to Canada and wanted to do some shopping. I decided to meet up with them here. I called my parents to see if everyone was there and in the background I could hear my cousin yell "You'll need a helicopter and a parachute to get into this place." He wasn't kidding; the parking nightmare began even before I got to the parking lot. The signs that said employees must park off site should have been a hint. At that point, I thought I was fighting for the right to look for bargains...how I was wrong! We really only made it thru two stores...Ann Taylor and the Gap and each were very busy. AT did have some deep discounts but not as much as I would have thought for an outlet...The first top we saw at Gap was $49.99!? HOW is that an outlet price?! I told my cousin I felt like they were marking things up before the "discount" but I guess it still beats some Canadian shopping. The Gap has 7 changing rooms. We waited in huge lines just to get to try on a few pieces. The check out line wasn't as bad because everyone was in the changing room line. I have only been here one other time on a non-weekend and I know its not this crazy all the time. Starbucks even had a line out the door! For what we spent, it wouldn't be worth it to me to shop here often and I definitely will avoid it on a summer weekend. However, for my cousins, who wanted an outlet, and a place that let their big dogs get out and stretch for a while, this worked better than an indoor mall. The people loved the puppies!! The major thing I like about this mall is that it carries a variety of brands that don't have regular stores in the area like Kenneth Cole, and Diesel. You won't have to go downtown thanks to this outlet mall. And of course, the prices are better than if it were full price. The bad...and there's a lot of bad which is why I totally can't go higher than three stars: It's outdoors, so when it's cold, well, bundle up. Rain? Umbrella. The parking - sucks! Everyone else mentions that, and they aren't exaggerating. Food: There are no nice restaurants, so it's all food court, and the food court is the saddest one I've ever seen. Went here today and it was a great time to do so (thursday at 5:00pm) because there weren't any crowds at all. Everyone I was with was able to pick up some deal and everyone walked away happy. Yeah, it is outside so if the weather is not great I would hold off. Check the list of stores before you go so you can plan your trip appropriately. Also, we had to leave sort of late from the city so it seemed like it took forever to get there. Probably why I never venture to places like Aurora. But on a positive note, by the time we were done shopping and stuff around 9:15, we flew home! read more
