The Chicago Skyline exiting the Chicago Skyway
    Phil S.

03/24/21 What a racket. I was forced to take this coming and going to Horseshoe Casino on Wednesday. I tried to avoid it by mapping a different route but every time I tried it the navigation system redirected me back onto the skyway. I resent having to pay $5.80 for using it for the short stint crossing from Chicago into Indiana & back to Chicago. Even though the navigation kept redirecting me back onto the bridge it really made the most sense seeing as the exit at the end of the bridge takes you directly to Horseshoe Casino. I just gave it another star because it is well maintained Funny I found this photo on Facebook by Bart Shore taken from his unique perspective in a helicopter today 03/26/21 Info Courtesy of Don Berry Canadian consortium buys Chicago Skyway lease rights for $2.8 billion By Sun-Times staff on June 24, 2016 9:13 am A decade after investors gave the city more than $1.8 billion to lease the Chicago Skyway for 99 years, the rights to run the privatized highway and collect tolls have been sold for $1 billion more than the original price.

$5.80 for the first toll. The second toll is $2.80. The last extortion toll is $1.10. It's always feels like $9.70 gamble hoping that the Skyway is actually faster than taking 94 without the tolls. The roads aren't that great and the right lane in sections is all patched, pot holed and bump too. What do they use all of the money they collect and extort from us then? We picked a slow moving lane at the second toll, the other 4 cash and credit lane are pass 2-3 cars for every one in our lane. It's not manned for the second toll either. The machine in our lane is slow and the other 4 seem to be manned, what bad luck. It smells like Gary, Indiana is close after the second toll. Blech. Lots of regularly interview seamed cement sections along this second tollway. We don't have tolls in Michigan, yet our roads are about the same as sections of the tollway here on the skyway.

Going on 9 minutes... stuck here!

The road works. You can drive on it. Those are the only positives. I've been stuck here in line to pay a huge toll... for going on 10 minutes. Plenty long enough to Yelp. Ugh.

I highly despise The Chicago Skyway for various reasons. I barely go on the Skyway because there's no reason for me to use it. The Skyway is owned by a private company. Mainly I'm upset with how expensive it is to drive down it ESPECIALLY if you're in the big trucks. I thought the 390 was expensive but this takes the cake. The McDonald's is gone too but that's their fault but not the highways. They could put in a Wendy's or a Culver's to maybe give some people coming. There's tons of great views. What an architectural masterpiece this place is! You'll also see : wetlands, smoggy polluting buildings, neglected neighborhoods, south shore line.

Easy Peasy! I go back and forth, forth and back from Michigan to Wisconsin all the time! The Chicago Skyway saves me time and money. The skyway has been around for decades and I've watched it change over the years. Best move to date was get rid of the Mickey D's! That solely cleared up the chaos at this vital crossing. Not sure why this is rated so low. I wouldn't cut around any other way period! The skyway cuts down the brutal truck traffic that engulfs if you take the freeway I-94. No thanks! Plus if you have an EZ pass then ALL tolls are just half the cost. That's a no brainer! Long live the Chicago Skyway!

$5.00 whether you are headed to or from the city. If you have E-Z pass then it's a cinch to breeze through. Whichever direction you are going you head up a long hill to the bridge deck. Upon your approach you can see in the distance the Willis tower which was formerly known as the Sears tower. Very nice architecture which is what Chicago is known for. That's about all I can say for it. I was the passenger on this journey which enabled me to see a lot more as well as check in. Course you have to pay if you want to enter or exit a major city. Manhattan by far is worse. It makes me glad to go through my city's Fort Pitt tunnel for free and upon exiting get a beautiful view of Pittsburgh.

Not just our lane, not reading everyone's ezpass/ipass.

I'd give it no stars if I could! Suppose to save you time, but every time you try to use the ezpass/ipass coming back into Chicago from Indiana it NEVER picks up your pass. And you waste time having to run your Ccd. Not worth the head ache!

Even with the seemingly endless construction and improvements this highway is still way faster and a more direct route to The City than 80/94. Traffic is usually light, mostly commuters too and from the city, there's not too many big semis to worry about either. Police doesn't have too much of a presence here (unless I've just been lucky), I usually only see them at the toll plaza or by the Stoney Island exit ramp. The only part about the skyway that can be a bit more efficient is the toll plaza, ht not just Chang it to an "Open Road Tolling" system... The plaza almost always has some a$$hole who can't read and tries to pay cash or credit in a CLEARLY labeled "IPASS ONLY" lane. All in all, it's a pretty great highway, quick city access and tolls are decent, save for the aberrant A-hole who can't read.

She greeted me with such warmth and a bright smile. She put a smile on my face with her energy. When I requested the lift, she was so happy to assist me. Felicia was very professional and also asked if I required assistance with my seatbelt. The drive was very pleasant and she picked me up on time and got me to my destination in a timely manner. Her over all attitude and professional appearance were great. I truly enjoy the transportation ride. My experience with Felicia McDaniels was exceptional! The 3rd SCR Driver, Tami Wright, who picked me up to take me home from my second appointment was very helpful, professional, and had a great attitude. Tami arrived time, ask me if I required any assistance with my bag, and waited patiently for me. She asked if I required any assistance with my seatbelt and kept a radiant smile on her face. The drive home was comfortable and the conversation with her was pleasant. Her positive attitude and energy made me feel protected and cared for. She also suggested the best seats to sit in to avoid the impact of the bumpy streets in Chicago. Both of these SCR Bus Operators, Felicia McDaniels and Tami Wright are Exceptional Bus Operators who care about the clients they pick up and service. Please acknowledge both of these ladies. Fast forward... the driver shows up and immediately starts yelling at me saying I got him in trouble and he never got a message from his boss regarding my name & number. I said please stop yelling at me, I don't have anything to do with that, I'll pay you for your service and that's it. Please take me home, I'm cold and tired. He continued screaming. I said I'm asking you nicely to stop talking to me. He slammed on the brakes and shouted that he's a grown a** man & that's his car & told me to get out! This was on a dark side street at 11:00 at night. I said I'm not getting out, you take me back where you got me from. He said he's not taking me anywhere, but changed his tune when the police rode by, so he took off at a high speed, swerving so much that I was sliding back & forth across the back seat, all the time screaming profanities at me. Finally got back to Trinity hospital, got out, so did he & ran around the car, jumped in face still screaming at me. I will be reporting them to the Attorney General, & filing a formal complaint. I will NE-VER use this company again. Too bad I couldn't give ZERO stars.

Due to the fact that the main entrance, was closed, I informed the driver, that my aunt would come out of the East side entrance. I understand that we had a lapse in communication and he went and waited at the emergency room. That was understandable. He's forgiven. However, when I tried to call back, he recognized my number and immediately hung up my aunt only after saying "my driver left. I'm not sending a cab back" and then hung up abruptly. Due to the confusion, there was no need to be rude as this business is providing a service to hospital patrons. It's a hospital--it's fairly big and it's not always the case where a person is provided where to go after hours, which we were not. When I decided to call the guy back myself, he repeated the same thing and when I said that there was no need to be rude, and I would like to speak to his supervisor, he hung up the phone again. I will never use this cab service again, and I highly advise anyone else from using them as well. Totally unprofessional!
