I don't know, because the ones Ernesto installed are great and doing precisely what I wanted. When I was on my search for home security cameras, I kept mostly finding things like ADT, SimpliSafe, or something else that was largely about selling you the monitoring plan; the equipment I think was less expensive but then you're paying for the monitoring. I am not generally a fan of the everything-is-now-a-subscription-or-service thing nor do I want to be beholden to whatever rates a company decides to charge. Some of those also were self-install options, which didn't interest me at all. They hooked up several cameras at our home to provide various views, including the basement since I wanted to be able to see what's happening down there when I'm upstairs. The system has a hard drive that can support up to eight cameras. We can save photos, videos, and also play back to see what happened earlier in the recording on the various cameras. Although they could have provided a monitor, we don't really have a place for it so we simply have an app on our phone through which we can view the cameras. I'm not sure why, but I thought it would go much more quickly than it did. I have no frame of reference to know how long it should have taken so that's not a criticism. It took about six hours total but having it done well was the most important part. I would highly the crew at 606 installs for their professionalism, reasonable rate, and excellent work.

I truly feared all of my files were gone forever. Wedding pictures, baby photos, and vacations we'd taken over the years. Plus all my music and video files. I was unsuccessful with a previous computer store, located on Ogden ave, figuring out the reason my…read morehigh end gaming PC would crash while running games. They ran their tests, charged me a fee and could not replicate the failure. Once I got the computer home, it crashed once the game was being played and they said they did everything they could and I was out of luck. I decided months later to see Adam at nerd rangers. He was very thorough in gaining background on the issue. He asked me whether the other repair shop tried to run the actual game? I was not sure so he went ahead and loaded Fortnite and said he would do his best to replicate the issue. Later that day he reached out to let me know that he believes he found the reason the game crashed (as it did for him) and he felt confident that he fixed the issue. When I went to pick up the computer he reassured me that if for some reason the fix didn't work he would continue to work with me to identify the problem. WARNING: DO NOT BUY A VIVINT SECURITY SYSTEM -- You'll Regret It!…read more I wish someone had warned me before I got stuck in this mess -- so let me be that warning for YOU. Vivint locks you into a 5-year contract that sounds great on paper but turns into a nightmare fast. The reps sound helpful... until it's time to actually fix something. Then you're bounced around from department to department, nobody has real answers, and the solutions? Nonexistent. They're quick to take your money, but if you need help or want out? Good luck. I recently sold my home and sold the Vivint equipment with it -- thinking, naturally, that the new owner would take over the service. WRONG. Vivint does NOT require the new homeowner to take over the contract. Even if they agree initially, their sales reps can and will talk them out of it. Yes, you read that right. So now guess what? Vivint is charging both ME and the new owner for the same service at the same property. Even worse? Because the panel is still at the old address, I can't access my account, update anything, or unlink my info. Their tech system literally doesn't allow them to separate the panel from the original account. Their solution? "Buy more equipment at your new place" to finish the contract -- to the tune of $1,000+. Or, cancel early and pay 50% of your remaining contract. Either way, you lose. Lesson learned the hard way: If you still move forward with Vivint (and I highly suggest you don't), then make sure your sales contract with the buyer includes a mandatory service account takeover. Honestly though? Just don't buy from Vivint. Their customer service is garbage, their system is flawed, and their business model is shady. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the BS. You've been warned.
