He handled everything professionally and figured out the relevant plans to be applied in order to win the customer experience. I was on the phone for almost 2 hours though. So, not very happy about that.

Astound is using a very old Americast Infrastructure to push out their 1Gbps package, and 1.5 Gbps…read morepackages. Unfortunately, their download speeds come close to the advertised speed for the package, the upload is a whole nother story. Astound can ONLY DELIVER ASYMMETRICAL Internet Speeds to their customers which is unheard of in 2026........ This basically means, you might get the 1Gbps or 1.5Gbps Download Speed but your Upload Speed is STRICTLY CAPPED AT 20Mbps..........this is unacceptable. Especially when their ONLY COMPETITOR is Xfinity, and their Internet speeds ARE SYMMETRICAL (equal Download and Upload speeds), so if you buy the 1Gb package from Xfinity, you get 1Gbps Download and Upload Speeds. Their is ONE very major drawback to Xfinity though. They CAP your Internet Data ALLOWANCE to 1.2Tb for the month. I would easily blow past that Data CAP as I work from home as a Network Administrator. So when you surpass 1.2Tb of data, they start OVERCHARGING YOU A TON, and you might even be downgraded as far as Internet Speeds go. So you have to pick between these two shitty deals in Chicago and NW Suburbs. I was with WOW when Astound bought out the Americast Infrastructure from WOW Internet. At that time, the Upload Speeds were capped at 60mbps on the 600Mbps/ 1Gbps Speed package. I noticed the drop immediately when they capped the upload speed from 60mbps-20Mbps. This was due to too much traffic on the Line. Astound only has 3 nodes on their Line. Xfinity has 6-8 nodes per Line. Hope this helped, Astoud is losing thousands of customers a month with this sly bait and switch BS with the Upload speed. I'm moving on to Xfinity next month, 20mbps is waaaaaaayyyy to slow in 2026........

From the moment we walked in, the customer service was outstanding. Ricky, our sales representative, was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. He took the time to explain all the phone options, helped us find the best service deal, and made sure we understood everything before making the switch. He made the whole process smooth and stress free. The store manager, Rashid, was also fantastic. He stepped in to help us finalize the purchase and made sure we were getting the best value for our new phones and plan. His professionalism and friendly attitude really stood out. Overall, both Ricky and Rashid went above and beyond. If you're thinking about switching carriers or upgrading your phone, I highly recommend visiting this Verizon location in Addison, IL. Excellent service, great deals, and a team that truly cares about their customers.

Their agents are OK, nothing really stand out of their Customer Service. The choices of phones and tablets are comparable to other carriers. They state all stores can serve you if you have any technical issues. My husband/Mom opened up a business account with them. Their agent that was working with them seemed like a newbie..didn't care much of him. If you open up a business account, it's best to call ahead of time and a rep will be at that store time/date and they will take better care of you. I'd only come back here because of location and it's a bigger/newer looking store. They need to up their customer service attitude. Smile more, money is coming into the door man...start sucking up!

We were greeted warmly, asked what what was our reason for coming in, and then put in a queue. In the meanwhile, the store has plenty of open seating and it had wi-fi that automatically connected to my phone using Spectrum mobile, so internet speeds were great. Two observations: -- some things are just made too hard. We wanted to switch the primary person on the account, and it took a bit of effort, certainly more than I expected. It was a lot harder than switching names for utilities. They did recognize the delicate situation, but it did involve having to bring my MIL into the store to sign paperwork. -- that staff is trained to push product...period. I had the unfortunate circumstance to overhear a conversation between an elderly gentleman and an associate. The customer wanted to return his two cable boxes and basically cut the cord, relying on streaming with a non-Xfinity device (e.g. Roku or Firestick). The associate kept telling him that he would 'Lose TV', which totally confused the gentlemen. It ended up in this roundabout discussion about how you don't have to have a cable box to get the benefits of TV service..."because you can download the Xfinity App and stream the same channels". It was clear that the gentlemen had been paying for service he never used (he pretty much had all the premium cable channels), and was getting upset when he started to realize that. He just wanted his main network channels, and other free channels that Roku and Amazon provided. So yes, technically what the salesrep was saying was correct,...but there has to be a better way to educate customers on how the new era of streaming works. But it's not good business for Xfinity....since most of those options don't involve the cable companies.
