Probably the worst service I've had in years. Only two waitresses on a Friday night who were expected to take care of everyone from seating, drinks, cleaning, paying-- everything. Even though they were both trying their best, our server was lacking in many areas. When ordering our chicken Alfredo pizza the response we got was "we don't have Alfredo anymore" but no suggestions were made. After evaluating the menu we asked if a garlic Parmesan base could be substituted. "People do that all the time!" Pizza was pretty decent, but hard to finish without refills. Did not see away to order on line so had to do an actual old school phone call. Very friendly Young lady answered the phone and took my order. Order didn't take long at all. They have a drive up window for order pick up. Love it!! Employee at the window was wearing a mask. Pizza very cheesy. Something had a bit of a Smokey flavor it may have been the sausage. Good topping coverage. The breadsticks were fluffy and good. They could have been better with garlic butter or if they had some salt on them. But they were still good. We stopped at Chicago's in Cloverdale and were seriously impressed. The food was SO good, way better than we expected for a random stop. Everything we had was hot, fresh, and super tasty. It was good but I wish they would start putting the sauce on top again. It is an amazing memory from childhood but when I asked them to do it at the Cloverdale location they refused stating that if they were to do that the cheese wouldn't melt. The service was a little too good as the waitress came by every 5 minutes to make sure everything was OK. Yeah I know but it can get annoying. Review from a local. The food here is fine. It's the service that needs improvement. Over the last few years I've dined here occasionally and I cannot say that I've had a server here who seemed genuinely happy to work here. Here is what happened on my most recent visit. I was sat at a table that was apparently supposed to be clean. I had to move the my plate and wrapped silverware off the table because it was sitting in the former patrons dried pizza sauce and crumbs. I was told Ashley would be right over to take my order. Meanwhile, I waited looking at a dirty table, wishing I had a menu to look at. Another group came in and sat at the booth next to me. They were also told Ashley would be right over to take their order. A few minutes later Ashley did come over. Except Ashley began taking the order of the patrons who came in after me. I got up and left and came across the street to the fantastic Mexican restaurant I eat at weekly and the service and food was spectacular as usual. read more

I pulled off of route 70, on my way home and decided to try this place because I've never known any one from the area (and i have lived here 28 years) who favors it. No one considers it their go to Pizza. I wondered why. Here's why: disconnected management. Directionless wait staff. No recommendation for what to try. No enthusiasm for the product., it was as if having a pizza at 4 PM were a puzzle to everybody who worked there. The pizza that came out, while buried in a senseless blizzard of cheese, was the wrong one. I asked them to put it in a to-go box, watched as the owner manager rolled her eyes. I paid, tipped and left without so much as a sorry. Good soft drinks though. Just like the ones from a machine at a motel you were forced to move into. Try the pizza at Bridges in Greencastle instead or Anthony's in Groveland for the best of the local pizzaverse. read more

Ah this place brings back so many memories of my teenage years. I remember always thinking they were delicious, but never really grasping how cool it was to have a tasty local pizza place right in our backyard. I always thought; I like them, but I think I will just go to Greencastle and get Pizza Hut or Papa Johns instead. It was only in my later years, did I come back and eat here more often when I visited. Those chain places get old pretty fast. The pizza here is always really good and the service is always great. I wouldn't really call this a Chicago style pizza per say. I would just label it a tasty pie to all of my friends. The pizza is always cheesy and yummy, the sauce is zest, and the toppings taste pretty fresh. I've been around the block when it comes to pizza, so I wouldn't really call it pricey per say, but just be prepped to buy a whole pie. read more

Not too shabby for pizza in Cloverdale. We were craving some pizza and had never been here. We ordered the deep dish. It's not super deep, deep dish pizza (more like a thick hand toss) but it was yummy none the less. We ordered ground beef as a topping and had no complaints. Prices are average for pizza, pretty affordable for the amount of food. The breadsticks look amazing. I regretted not ordering them, but had to save room for pizza. The noise level is higher here. It's all open dining room with tables and metal chairs that drag loudly on the floor and you sit fairly close to people, so certainly not a quiet, romantic, have a private conversation sort of place. Delicious! This is not true Chicago deep dish pizza--so as long as you know that up front you will not be disappointed. The breadsticks were very good but the sticks themselves are plain no garlic butter or parm on them. The deep dish pizza is somewhat similar to pizza hut pan but the crust is superior. The best thing is that you can tell the cheese is of premium quality and it goes over the crust! You know how you always have those dry ends of crust? Not here cheese over it! Every bite is delicious. A large 1 topping was $15 and a great price for the amount and quality. Also the dipping pizza sauce was really good. Very flavorful. We walked in and were seated right away. The service was attentive and friendly. The beer was ice cold. The frozen mugs were a nice surprise! We ordered salads and pizza and everything was good. The place is clean and has a relaxed atmosphere. We didn't feel rushed as we sat visiting over a final cold one before leaving. The server visited with us for a while. The price is reasonable. I've now ordered from Chicago's pizza three times. Two times we ate in, once was takeout. My advice to you, is to order take out, no matter what time of day or day of the week it is. The food is 5 star! So good. But the service is not. Both times we ate in, they didn't bring me my salad but still charged me for it when I reminded them... AFTER we got the pizza. Zilch on refills, and I saw several people getting up to get their own. The breadsticks came out about (literally) thirty seconds before the pizza and they were cold. When we brought up why we didn't get our salad or breadsticks, the waitress (who I'm pretty sure is the manager because she marches around bitching about other employees loud enough for customers to hear) said that she thought someone else had already brought them to us. I'd never leave a review like this based on a busy Friday or Saturday night. We ate there on a slow Tuesday, and on a busy Friday. The service was the same both times. Not my first time here, but it's definitely gone downhill. Stopped in for the lunch buffet.. Walked in just after Noon, so I assumed the buffet would be ready for some kind of lunch crowd. I was wrong. The salad bar was full, but the lettuce was the shredded type you would put on a sandwich. Not bad, but not what I would expect. Overall the salad bar was nice with a good selection of toppings. The pizza buffet had 4 slices, not pizzas, slices. They also looked like they had been there for a bit. Over the time I ate, there was no more than 2 pizzas out at a time. The fresh pizza was pretty good. The breadsticks are pretty good along with the cheese sauce. That being said, they must be fully cooked to be good. The first batch when I got there was fine. The second batch came out while I was waiting for fresh pizza and still had raw dough in the middle. I explained this to the staff who was pulling another batch out of the oven. At this point you would assume they would remove the older (not cooked) breadsticks. Wrong, they dumped them right on top. So I grab a new one, open it up.. Raw dough again.. Seriously.. I jut told you that they weren't cooked through, and you didn't bother to maybe check the next batch?? Overall I enjoy Chicago's Pizza, but this will probably be my last trip to this location. I can tell by the scarce lunch crowd that others have given up too.. Gave two stars (being generous) because the pizza was good and salad bar was nice, but the breadsticks and lack of selection defeat the purpose of the pizza buffet. Spending half your lunch break waiting on a new pizza is ridiculous. The location could also use a full remodel to look like other locations and not feel so dirty. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday evening with 5 hungry kids. The ticket got "lost", they dropped it on the floor. We waited there for an hour, no food. Granted, they were fairly busy but the waitress walked by our table 15 times and didn't notice we still hadn't received our order. I heard multiple people tell me that this is the best pizza in the area and I had to come check it out for myself. I pulled off of Route 70 and Chicago's was conveniently located within a half a mile from the highway. When I entered the restaurant, I noticed how clean and up to code this establishment is. I was greeted by a very friendly and accommodating staff. My waitress recommended that I try the 'Skyline' pizza. What a great recommendation this was. The pizza came out buried in a blizzard of ooey-gooey deliciousness. Perfect amount of toppings and cheese to compliment the crispy and flavorful homemade crust. Additionally, my soft drink was ice cold and never dropped below half-full, as my waitress was determined to make my experience the best it could be. I recommend this pizza/restaurant to anyone who is looking for excellent eats and excellent service. Chicago's definitely lives up to the hype and I will be back! read more

Their pizza is so good! It's not deepdish with the tall crust to fill in with toppings, but they still manage to fit everything on there anyway! Another reviewer said to ask them to go easy on the cheese...but that's the best part! They also have really, really cold beer.
