I have been to this CHICHA San Chen twice, and each time, it was a pleasant visit. The staff are so friendly and always offered us samples, and they were always very tasty! Since I don't drink anything with caffeine, the staff recommended us to two drinks on the menu that were caffeine-free; really appreciate that ^^ I really enjoyed the Bubble Volcano (with oat milk) and Taro Party (loved the chewy taro balls!) Shoutout to the gentleman who helped me during my 2nd visit. He was very friendly, had exceptional customer service, spoke English clearly and professionally, and literally went above and beyond to make our visit a memorable one. He was the one who took our order and also tied my drink to-go with strings to make it a cute handle ^^

I've tried this brand before at Markville mall, but this location is so much better. The service is a lot quicker here and I didn't need to wait too long for my tea. We also were given a free sample of their mango iced tea and that was amazing! After I had ordered my tea, I went around to take photos of the place and by the time I took all my photos, my tea was ready for me! Amazingly quick in comparison to the mall location, which can be as short as a 15min wait.

There's a reason Chicha San Chen has been awarded the top 3-star award by the International Taste Institute for its tea. If you're someone who loves high quality tea with a modern vibe, you have to give this place a try. I'm not a huge bubble tea fan typically, as I find most places focus more on unique flavour combos & toppings. But this spot really allows you to enjoy tea in a modern way - whether you're a classic milk bbt fan or you prefer a light fruit/milk addition to bring out the tea flavour. You can tell the quality of their teas just from smelling the leaves!

Good quality bubble tea but not sure if it's worth the price. This is the only chicha san Chen location I've tried and had the opportunity to check it out before heading to the mall (just situated outside in the plazas). It was late in the day so I ordered the bubble volcano as it's one of the few options that were caffeine free. I was happy to know that they had an oat milk option as well to sub. Overall the tapioca had a nice chew with a few slightly too soft for my liking. The oat milk was frothed well and the drink was the right amount of sweetness. I'm just not sure it's worth $10. I think I would try one of the tea based drinks next time as it's probably what they're more specialized in. Small shop with only a few seating available

drinks 5/5 Service 3/5 Vive 5/5 Another location of my favourite Chi Chan San Chen BBT right beside Vaughan Mills I just get their basic black tea with cream~ nothing fancy, no toppings but its perfect. - 30% sugar, and less ice. Also the decor are always IG worthy! Super cute and great pics wherever you take them. Only thing is one of the staff wasn't really the nicest, kinda feel bad for the rest of the team. Finger cross things get better :) Overall 4.5/5

Came here with a bunch of friends and thankfully, the place wasn't as busy. I remember hearing about how long the wait was at their first location. We were eating around the area so it's great that this location was nearby. The inside was bright and had cute decorations, not much seating with tables but there are seats for waiting. They had a good selection of tea and can be customizable depending on what you feel like. You can also smell their tea so it gives you an idea of what the base would be like. I ended up getting the Dong Ding Oolong which was one of the favourites. It had a good tea flavour even with light sugar. Unfortunately, the drinks are not as customizable for the favourites which I'm a bit surprised (I was thinking of being able to choose the tea base but getting the toppings for them). The tea is made fresh so there will be a wait especially if they're busy but have enjoyed the drinks.

They are very professional. I have how their tea is made freash to order so there is no premade tea. They have a good variety of options from milk tea to normal teas. As well toppings ofc. The shop very nicely decorated and clean.

New location in Vaughan located in the plaza just outside Vaughan Mills. Interior is bright and airy with a long wooden bench for seating along the wall and some small tables near the window. Went with the honey osmanthus oolong tea and it came nicely packaged with a drink holder. Very refreshing! Even though there were a few people wait in for drinks service was good and my drink came quickly.

A very innovative bubble tea spot. What sets them apart from the rest is their teaspresso machine that extracts and brews the loose-leaf tea fresh per order. The tea had clear and distinct flavours with a full-bodied taste. The server was very patient and took the time to show us the variety of loose-leaf teas they have. I highly recommend!

The drinks were good, but expensive. Paying that much for a drink of that size that I felt like I could get elsewhere made me so guilty about spending my money. The interior looked very clean and nice. The service was the best part. The staff were soooo nice, and the sample we got was delicious. It was mainly the service that got me to actually buy drinks. Still thinking about the price, though.

This place is close to a pub we used to go to all the time! We were over in no time and walked in. It was pretty empty but it was raining pretty hard when we dropped in. We had a scan at the menu and they had some specials. You could get a main but you could also make it a combo where you get a side and a drink. After having a quick look through the menu, I definitely wanted a scallion pancake with an egg. I combo'd it so I got a hash brown as well as a milk tea. We grabbed a seat, the seating in here is limited but I can't see people sitting in here for too long. I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you come with a large group. Our order was out in no time in a bunch of wrapped paper wrappers. I ripped open all my bags to check out my breakfast and they looked alright. The pancake with egg was decent as well as the hash brown I got. The milk tea wasn't overly sweet. This place has quite a number of different breakfast options and interesting ones that I'd definitely come by to try something else. The items I ordered were decent enough I'd grab them in a pinch if I was in the area. The service was super friendly and prices weren't bad!

We ordered: Braised Pork Rice Traditional Taiwanese Rice Ball (the fried egg one) Ham Puff Pastry Sandwich They were all around $10-$12 each The problem was the incredibly long wait time. For these 3 items to go, I probably waited 15-20 minutes which is too long, but I forgave them after tasting the food

I came here on a weekday, there was no line, hardly anyone on the second floor. I looked at their menu (lots of options) and finally got the attention of the worker inside and pointed to the picture of what I wanted. There was a bit of back and forth with the worker, she kept waving me to look at the menu to tell her what I wanted, but I was clearly pointing to the photo of what I wanted. Service was a bit rude, she wasn't very friendly, nor did she try to understand what I wanted. I didn't think language barrier would be an issue if I was clearly pointing to the photo of what I wanted in my sticky rice. I will say that the sticky rice was very delicious and well balanced. It was VERY greasing on the exterior of their packaging which was saran wrap. The food made it a better rating, but I can't shake off the rude customer service. Questionable if I will be back though.

The restaurant was pretty small, so you'll need to go to the common space to eat. There are about 4 tables on the second floor in the common area but there are benches throughout the mall for you to sit at. I was the first one there to order the rice rolls and no one was around, however she forgot my order. But I do appreciate the quick turnaround when she realized that she forgot my order.

I have an onion and garlic intolerance (I will be sick for 2-4 days if I get any), and some restaurants are born good with handling that. The staff checked all the prepped stuff and sauces and came back with suggestions of what I could have. One of the suggestions was the sukiyaki hotpot. I enjoyed it so much I've been back twice for it, and will be going in the future. The first visit was with friends, and they all really enjoyed their food as well, so my dish isn't a lone syandout.

We decided to share a bunch of dishes so we can try a bit of everything. The popcorn chicken was so delicious, perfectly crunchy and well seasoned. The BBQ sausage was very flavorful. The beef steak egg pancake was also good, though a bit oilier than expected. Our sukiyaki hotpot with udon had a nice, comforting broth and the toppings were solid. My favourite was the house-special minced pork on rice. Its a pretty simple dish but always hits the spot. The portion size is a bit smaller than if you were to compare to a traditional Chinese style restaurant. I would say this place leans more toward trendy, individual/fusion-style Taiwanese dining rather than big family style platters. In our case, with 5 people sharing mostly appetizers / smaller dishes, we ended up spending about $20 per person (tip + tax included) which is still a pretty good deal. I'd absolutely go back for the popcorn chicken and the minced-pork rice bowl again.

Apparently this is a very famous restaurant in Taiwan so it's great that we can try it here in Toronto! My Taiwanese friend did the ordering as she was familiar with the popular dishes to try. She ordered two lunch specials. One lunch set was a little pricier for about $25 but if you pay cash there is 10% off on this item. This lunch set was really worth it as this combo included 6 side dishes, a main dish with a soup or milk tea...and for the main dish, you could choose Danmi noodles or Minced pork rice and we picked the noodles since we got the Pork Hock & Minced pork rice for our 2nd lunch set. The two of us shared all the items except my friend insisted that I have the marinated abalone side dish and this was so good! I will definitely be coming back because of this dish! I also liked the Danmi noodles and Pork Hock. Although the food was amazing but the service was lacking. It wasn't busy when we got there just before noon on a Wednesday and we had to wave the staff for help several times and the staff didn't even take our order correctly as we had asked for two tea and they only brought one. I will still be back as the food was really good and I love Taiwanese food!
