These guys seriously wowed me today. I stopped here to eat in the midst of a 6 hour drive, exhausted and wanting to get back on the road quickly. I was greeted within 5 seconds of walking in, and I was handed my food before I even got my receipt! Everything was correct and delicious. We are on a long road trip from Dallas. We were looking for a good fast food restaurant where we could take our food to go and wanted to get in and out quickly since we are only about 75 miles away from our destination. We love Chick-fil-A so we stopped in for several quick take out meals. Alexa took our order and she was friendly and personable. We had a large order with 5 adults meals and 2 kids meals. Everything was correct with the adults order, but the kids meals we received french fries instead of the fruit cups they ordered. I told them at the register and they quickly gave me the fruit cups and let the kids keep the french fries. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend this Chick-fil-A. read more

This was my husband and I's first time eating at Chick-fil-a restaurant. The food was good; especially for what I was expecting with fast food chicken. I even loved the waffle fries! The building was well kept and clean. And when the associate we ordered from (I think it was the shift manager.) found out it was out first visit, he was incredibly helpful in guiding our choices. Chick-Fil-A has some good chicken. The service here at this location is always good and quick. Usually get the chicken sandwich of some sort and fries. The chicken nuggets here are also really good(real chicken). The breakfast biscuit and chicken is simple but perfect. Only downside is not that many side options. Overall you can't go wrong here. We visit family here in Iowa from California where we dont have a one of these reaturants so of couse we had to stop and enjoy and man did we enjoy! We placed our order and then went to get a table then right behind us before we even sat down our food was getting put down on the table, now that is service. I don't understand the hype about this place. I have gone through the drive through twice in the last month and it took over 20 minutes both times. 20 minutes! And there really wasn't a long line in front of me and there was no way to bail out when I realized it was going to take too long. Both times, the chicken sandwich was soggy after sweating in the bag they put it in and the waffle fries were bland, luke warm, and rubbery. I tried giving it a second chance, thinking maybe the first time was a fluke, but I definitely won't be back again. read more

This place is a disappointment to all Chick-fil-a restaurants around the world. The commitment to holding the high standards of the chain is not true for this one. The inside always looks half put together and the cheery spirit is not always consistent. That Chick-fil-A a in West Des Moines can show them how it's suppose to be. They are always on point.!!! Look at these pictures and you tell me where are the fresh flowers that are suppose to be on the table? And why do I have to stand in line for a packet of ketchup and sauces because they keep them locked up in the back of cashiers! I mean really YOU need to be made to do better!!!! First time trying a Chik-FIL-A restaurant. Now I know why most people rave about their chicken! The sandwiches we tried were all delicious--and the chicken was wonderfully moist still! The waffle fries were very tasty as well. We chose to eat inside the dining room and, I must say, we were attended to by some very friendly staff. Although they do not have table service, we were checked on by two different staff who were doing jobs in the dining room asking if we had everything we needed or if they could bring us anything additional (they even took our sodas to be refilled)! By far, this was the nicest staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in a fast food restaurant! Well done Chik-FIL-A!!! read more

When I want a good spicy chicken sandwich I'll stop by here or Wendy's. The food is always good and the waffle fries are great too. Usually pretty busy during lunch time but they do get the food out fast. The staff is always friendly and seem to be in a better mood when compared to other fast food chains. The food here is amazing the people here are amazing the management is horrible. me and my boyfriend just stopped for lunch we walked in on almost an episode of Jerry Springer! the manager who later I found out her name was Brandi was yelling at one of her employees back on the grill area to stop trying to justify his actions me personally at this point in time I don't care what the kid did.... you do not, I repeat you do not! air laundry in front of customers or coworkers that is just unacceptable with or without years of management experience anybody knows that's the first rule you don't do that the poor kid was so frustrated I can't believe he didn't walk out it was rude uncalled for and we will not be going back which is sad because I really enjoy this place read more

Been enjoying Chick-fil-A food for a bit now and today we decided to try breakfast there. Again not disappointed. A bit weird having chicken for breakfast but the Chicken egg and cheese bagel was very good and filling. I also tried the breakfast burrito with sausage and that was very good as well. I do not recommend having the jalapeño salsa with it because in my opinion it masks the flavor of the rest of the burrito. I would say if you are looking for a bite to eat in the morning and do not want a big sit down breakfast try Chick-fil-A. You will be pleasantly surprised. But do not try Sunday, they are closed. I remember it being better than it is. I won't return. The food was fine but nothing great and it was overpriced for what I received. There is so much better to be had in the area. Try local, not chain. Tired of these places getting richer and not giving us quality food. Not open on Sunday and they seem to be judgmental toward same sex couples. The service was great. I ate here with my wife and young son and the cashier was the friendliest. They treat the military very well too!

So annoyed that yet again my order was incorrect... not just one thing either. I order grilled chicken nuggets and received fried chicken nuggets. Ordered the deluxe spicy sandwich meal and only received fries and no sandwich. I just went to this restaurant for lunch. The parking lot is packed but the service went pretty quick. The downfall is, this was one of the worst tasting Chic-Fil-a sandwiches that I have ever eaten. I participated in the Ankeny trunk or treat last October. Chick-fil-A gave out coupons for a free Chick-fil-A, no purchase necessary. That was just what I needed to try the place out. The Chick-fil-A's are delicious. I have been very pleased with every meal I've eaten at Chick-fil-A or got an order to to go. The service is excellent and the place is very clean and nice. Not up to their normal standard. I don't know if it was the time of day or what. I Went through the drive thru at 3:30 and the fries were barely cooked-not crispy and not at all warm. I also got the the crispy chicken and it was warm, but wasn't even big enough to fit the bun and had like 2 pickles on it. Management needs to really get it together at this Ankeny location! West Des Moines location is flawless! Ankeny has struggled since it opened and still they haven't figured it out. I'm going to assume the root of the issue has a lot to do with the operator Thomas Krogman. 8/10 times my order is missing items both via drive thru or walk in. Usually it's fries or hash browns with a meal and condiments I requested that never make it in the bag. I drive 25 min both ways to get here from where I live and to come home with missing items is very upsetting. How can you enjoy your drink and sandwich when you come home to find no fries? Once I brought back my drink and sandwich because I was missing fries and I wanted a whole new HOT meal to enjoy and they refused to take it back and give me a whole new fresh meal. They said, "We can only give you what you were missing, we can't replace the whole meal (even though I brought the other stuff back!)". Wow! Maybe they should have just given me my fries and paid for my gas for having to go all the way back there then! Unbelievable! read more
