The Chick-Fil-A in Burlington is a disorganized mess. I chose it as it was close to the hotel and I could order on the app and I thought be a quick stop to get food before the storm started. I still beat the storm but this stop took way too long. They don't have a Mobile thru so I had to wait in one of the two regular drive thru lanes. This line didn't seem to be moving though. More staff came out and got the line moving. Those two lines merge into one lane to pick up the food. They have two lanes but one is used to leave after you get your food. I actually liked that. The one lane didn't seem to back up so the second lane wasn't used so that second lane might be better used for a second food delivery lane. I am likely a little spoiled as other Chick Fil A's have my food ready to go when I get to the window if not before and are better organized and operated with great employees. This one just seemed very disorganized and that they couldn't handle the demand. They could use some tips from better run Chick Fil A's. The employees were not friendly as they usually would be at Chick Fil A and I was surprised that I was given a dirty lid on my lemonade. At least clean it off. My food was cold too. For 8 am on a Saturday morning, I disappointed how nasty the lobby was. After driving 5 hours from Maryland, I just wanted to stretch my legs and get some breakfast. As soon as I opened the door, I noticed a brunch of grass/ straw on the carpet. And then it was also inside on the lobby floor. It honestly looked like a bunch of cattle walked through there. Since I ordered ahead, I just picked up my food and walked out. I got to my car and was annoyed again since there was not any sauce in the bag. Unfortunately, I had to go back inside. This time, I noticed a very older employee attempting to swipe up the grass/straw. I was glad to see someone tried to clean it up. Consistently good food, but the "my pleasure" attitude seems to expire soon after closing time. Despite getting over $50 worth of food, before leaving the dining area we were told they were closed and therefore we couldn't get ice cream and cookies to take with us. I would give this location a 0 star if I could. I used points for 2 items or so I thought. I noticed the price seemed a little high for what I ordered since I was using points. Well my fries never were covered by my points it should have been a small fry with points I even asked the man taking my order he said yes it was covered by points. I get my order I check my receipt and see I actually paid for a medium fry so I ask for a refund and then I would use my points as I asked. I waited about 8 mins for a manager LUCIA she asked if I still had the food I showed her the food. (Mind you I was eating the fries in the bag while I was waiting for 8ish mins) she goes we can't refund you because this is a medium fry and your reward for is for a small fry only. I adore chick fil a, and I've been to different ones all over the country. This was the worst, by far. It took me more than 30 minutes to get through the drive through line, and they had three lines going! The gentleman taking my order didn't have that friendliness/enthusiasm most employees, then after finally making it to the end of the line, I was told to park and wait for the order because a certain item was still cooking. Understandable, sometimes happens. But then it took another 15 minutes or so for them to finally bring it out. I thought they had forgotten about me. I had three small kids in the car, crying and hungry, and the employees were all strolling around like there was no rush at all. Some of the food wasn't even hot by the time I got it, and the coffee was awful. More than half an hour for fast food. Drive-thru experience: Not sure what time they open up the second lane but they need to do it sooner. Due to this Burlington location it is hard to get into the line due to the customers waiting in the drive-through. The line wraps around the whole building and goes out to the road. It looks like they remove the cones first before they have the ability to take orders that's creating a large line. Would recommend having a person take orders in the second lane once the cones are removed. Customers around me in the second lane had to move up the line and order at the umbrella where one typically pays. This created new orders and longer wait time. Thankfully the employees were smart enough and started to give out the orders that were ready to the customers who had already paid. The customers would slowly move out of the line to head on out. Other then that the staff were kind and efficient. Coffee was hot, name on my cup and the model of the car I was in. They also double checked to make sure that it was my order and told me to have a great day. Overall great experience compared to other fast food chains. read more

Food is always excellent like any chick fil a. There is always about 20 people working so anything of your needs are met and everything is always clean and speedy. They will bring the food to your table and the have great attitudes. A little more pricy than other fast food but the quality is 100x better. As I have said in another review on Chick-fil-a, I love the brand and I love their food. So this lackluster review is not related to that whatsoever. The food at this CFA is as good as it is anywhere. Where the Burlington, NC CFA lacks is in service. I recently was headed over to a football game in the Triangle and I stopped in for my chicken biscuit fix. With several games going on in the area that day as well as a normal Saturday morning crowd, I am sure, things were very busy at this CFA. Unfortunately, they need a better system for handling large crowds. To avoid a very long drive through line since I was in a hurry, I went inside. I ordered a standard chicken biscuit and drink - nothing special or customized. I stepped back and had to wait and wait and wait. They had one person filling orders off the screen. What was very frustrating was there appeared to be biscuits in the warmer. Rather than holding people up, the cashier could have grabbed a biscuit from the warmer by turning around just after she took my order and gave me my drink. Rather, she continued to take orders along with other cashiers while this one guy continued to fill bags and put items on trays. Ultimately, it was the same cashier after what seemed five minutes that turned around, grabbed a biscuit from the warmer and handed it to me. Very poor system for handling a large crowd. I would just not stop there, but it is the only CFA of which I am aware on I-40 between Greensboro and the Triangle. Hopefully, they will address this concern. read more

Horrible service, poor management, and super slow. Manager have much attitude. That drive thru is comedy central. Traveling from Charlotte to DC one night and they were everything except polite. Requested coffee in lieu of cold beverage, they stated there was no coffee made. I inquired to have coffee made, and I must have asked for the world! It was not something they wanted to do and remained adamant about coffee not being made even after taking my money for my order. It took forever to get the coffee. The young chip-on-the-shoulder (truly need to understand SLA) "supposed" to be manager, took her time in coming to hear my concerns. She had a look, as if to say, "why are you bothering me"! Looking like she was recovering from a hangover, I tried to explain of the past 8-12 minutes, a pot could have been brewed and why allow a customer to pay for something if your staff did not want to and have not made any. Needless to say, after much debate, they brewed a pot. The coffee had something in it by the time I received it. I took a sip and something wasn't right. I threw it out immediately! BE CAREFUL HERE! There are a lot of dark looking eyes and spaced looks at this drive thru to include the manager who truly looked "stoned" that night. I've already wrote in about this matter. With this being a franchise, they will continue to get away with the hiring of non-qualified individuals (cousins, daughters, etc) who don't have a clue or understand Service Levels. My husband and I haven't eaten at a Chick- fil-A in years. We went yesterday at lunch. Lots of employees behind the counter but not very efficient group. I waited in my car in the designated spot for curbside pickup. I've used this service several times at other locations. After waiting for approximately 10-15 minutes, I called the store. I was unable to reach anyone so I left a message. I waited 2 minutes more and my order was still not delivered. I reluctantly left my two toddlers in our car alone so I could enter the store. My order was sitting on the counter surrounded by six employees. I could not address this with a manager as my children were alone in the car. When I got my food out in the car it was cold and the ice in my drink had melted. I again attempted to call the store and speak to a manager and AGAIN had to leave a message. I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience this evening. I normally go to the University Commons location but I wanted to try this location since it's reopening. Oh my goodnees, y'all...this Chick-Fil-A is something else! I felt like I was at a 5-star restaurant. My friend and I were on the way to Wet 'n' Wild and decided to stop here for food. There is a lovely gentleman that holds the door for you. It was super busy, but did not really feel like it was busy. You order and wait off to the side. If they have to bring you something to your table you get marker to sit on the table. There are friendly wait staff walking around in aprons make sure you don't need anything or collecting your trash. There had to been four people walking around making sure all the tables are good. We had on cover-ups and our bathing suits...I almost felt under dressed. We literally did not have to get up for anything. The item I was waiting for (which was coffee) was brought to my table with three types of creamer and two types of sugar, what?! Crazy! We were about to take our trash to the can, but got intercepted by one of the wait staff who scooped it up without hesitation. As I was ordering a cookie to go I asked on of the long sleeve collar shirted managers, you know the ones, why the store was like this because the ones in Raleigh are not. Granted I usually get my food to-go, but he said this is how it should be. -_- my face pretty much. I feel like if Chick-Fil-A was that poised in Raleigh I'd hear about it. There are 2 Chick-fil-A's within a mile of each other. This restaurant is at exit 141 just off route 40. It is the better choice. The employees are very friendly and helpful. It is always clean and the food is tasty and freshly prepared. The salads use a very good grade of lettuce with lots of other good vegetables. The chicken sandwiches are better than other fast food restaurants. The overall food quality is high and better than most Chick-fil-A's. I think the franchise owner must take a personal interest in his operation and it shows. Even the class of customers seems better. We drive an extra 15 miles when we want a chicken sandwich or salad because this restaurant is worth the drive. The handicapped parking is in between the ordering lane and the restaurant and usually blocked by drive in customers, which is the only negative otherwise I would have given it a 5 star (in the fast food category). read more
