So, I decided to give them another try. The service at the counter was friendly and efficient. While I consider their prices on the high side, they do have some good special offers. I ordered take-out, a family special of 9 pieces mixed, four biscuits and one large side for $20. That's a very good price. There was a longer wait time than I anticipated but hoped that meant fresh biscuits. When they're fresh, they are delicious. By the time I arrived home, within 15 minutes, the biscuits were hard - so I doubt they were right out of the oven. They were, however, still edible. The red beans and rice was very good, and with the large serving had more beans than rice (beans being where the flavor is). The chicken was the star and did not disappoint this time. My 9 piece family meal included 2 chicken beasts. The dining room is pleasant and clean with a New Orleans flair. It was also mostly empty. The parking lot is also spacious and well maintained. I think there's room for improvement with the food, but I got a good deal on the family meal, and would go again if I get the fried chicken craving.
