Efficient Drive-Thru: Despite long lines, service is pretty decent. Depending on the timeframe, it can move faster than peak hours. I even noticed that during the holidays or specialized holidays. That you can find, in some cases, some impressive window art to improve the drive-through experience. High-Quality Food: The spicy chicken sandwich, salads, and nuggets are popular, with many customers considering them to be consistently tasty. I am personally in love with the mac & cheese. It is always fresh and creamy and good. Grease the amount of cheese. It's fantastic. I only wish that the serving sizes were slightly larger for the price point. Finally got a freshly made spicy chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce and hashbrowns in the morning. This place is usually packed during lunch, but it's empty during breakfast. The sandwich itself was fresh and so were the mini hashbrowns. The cons were the dragonfruit lemonade. Tasted horrible and they actually took forever to get me my drink. Waste of $4. Obviously not Chick-fil-A's fault, but the turn in to the place is a super sharp right turn? And unfortunately there's only one way to get into the joint, so don't miss that turn or you'll have to make a huge circle. Other than the driving situation, I've come to really appreciate how quick and efficient this Chick-fil-A spot is compared to other ones. It's not as packed, the food comes out almost immediately and the staff are incredibly kind. Food always comes out consistent and hasn't failed me yet! Mobile pre-ordered through the drive thru 2 soups, salad, 2 icetea/lemonades. The girl who brought out order out handed me the tray of drinks. The lids were not on properly and drinks spilled half the drinks in my car. She proceeded to force the bag in my window while I said "give me a minute, the lids on the drinks are not on properly and spilling". She then said I am just going to leave your bag here on your window. She didn't say anything about the spilled drinks and ran back to her station to give another car ahead of us their food. We got home and discovered one of our soups-the lid was not on properly and there was soup leakage too. Please train your staff to care, to be more patient, and courteous. My daughters and I were in South Bay and we decided to visit Chick Fil A .. decided to go through the drive thru! Like In n out , they take your order and card payment ! Very convenient! We ordered 2 veggie wraps , 2 medium waffle fries and 1 kids meal nugget meal with waffle fries apple juice !! Food was delicious !! Veggie wraps were a 5/5!! Every time I come through the drive thru and order whatever combo, if I ask for a soda like a Coke, after I eat the food and drink the drink I get a sore throat from the drink. This Chick-fil-A is one of my go-to spots when I'm driving up or down the peninsula. Yes, the place is always busy busy busy. Yes, this street is always busy busy busy. And, yes, the commercial zoning of this street is perplexing (to say the least). So, this location is a little difficult to get in and out of -- but no where nearly as difficult as the In-N-Out off Holly in Redwood City. More importantly, despite the busy drive thru, cars go through it very quickly and efficiently. My order is ALWAYS correct too (even when its a large or complex order). That said: This Chick-fil-A has amazing employees! No matter what, they seem to treat customers quite well. The restaurant is very modern and has a great redesign that seems to work better now. Best of all, the food at Chick-fil-A is just very, very good. The chicken sandwiches (original, grilled or, my favorite, spicy) are amazing. The waffle fries are very tasty and the lemonades and shakes are great. The mac-and-cheese? It's almost otherworldly. read more

The Redwood City location is always packed but despite the lack of space, the Chick-fil-A employees are really efficient taking orders and making sure I get out quickly. I ordered two spicy chicken sandwiches with American cheese (5/5) and ketchup and a Strawberry lemonade (5/5). Craving waffle fries for the longest time... :') One of the closest Chick-fil-a to SF.. probably explains why there's so much traffic at this location. The last time I went, the line for the drive thru was wrapped around the corner of the gas station.. guess that's also why they changed up the system: one for drive thru orders and one for mobile pick up orders. It didn't look like they were doing in-person orders/pick-up. Before they changed it up, I could've sworn they had a separate lane (other than the drive thru lane) to enter the parking lot, so I completely missed the entrance and had to drive, what felt like forever, a whole big loop back around just to go back to the entrance. We LOVE Chick Fil A and I was really hoping you'd do better, Whipple CFA! Breaks my chicken nuggie lovin heart to give Chick Fil A a mere two stars. Frankly, it would've been one star if not for the delicious Frosted Lemonade to semi-appease hangry me. Horrible parking lot logistics aside, our 1st experience here was a disaster. Y'all been open far long enough to work out the woes of a "new" location. Running total of 1 hour from order, arrival, and bag in hand to receive a partial order of cold food. This. Is. Not. Okay. Multiple missed opportunities to make our experience better. Huge disconnect between the helpful runners braving the nipply cold weather and the window staff to recall mobile orders for drive thru pickups. Placed our mobile order in advance of our drive to this location. Came all this way to be advised upon arrival that they only have spicy chicken sandwiches as they've run out of chicken nuggets and strips - which is literally all that we came for (and the obligatory CFA sauce, of course). APP FAIL: No notification for substitution suggestions nor refund options. Users don't find out menu items are out of stock until you navigate through their nightmare of a parking lot to speak with a live person. False nugget hopes is such a waste of time, gas, and energy. We would've canceled had the app told us this from the jump. TO MANAGEMENT: UP your par levels so you don't run TF out of nuggets and strips on a bustling Saturday night, during holiday season nonetheless! After enduring the 30 minute clusterfk from 101/Whipple to their poorly planned drive thru lanes, we finally get to the tablet folks who checked us in for our mobile order. +15 mins to reach the drive up window from here, where 2 employees were unable to find our order. Onto the next wait where we're asked to pull over for curbside delivery. +15 more mins elapsed. Runner came out with our substitute order. I inquired if the two 8oz bottles of Chick Fil A sauce I was charged for were included in the bags before she handed the order over. She shrugs, "uhm it should be" and walks away without even looking. THATS HOW YOU REALLY FEEL?!?! There is steam erupting out my ears at this point. Unfkenacceptable!!! What COULD have been a small gesture from the employee to check would have saved us the grievance. But no caring moments here. Between employees in the back bagging up orders to frontline runners who delivered, not a single person cared enough to DO THEIR JOB to ensure all paid items were accounted for. Sorely disappointed as a CFA app virgin and even more disappointed with our first time at this location. Very unlikely to return here, the hassle is simple not worth the drive. Can't recommend using the inefficient app again unless there are options to address out of stock items. If you're looking for a stellar Chick Fil A experience, stay on 101 and keep driving through San Mateo County into the next area code bc San Carlos CFA ain't the one. read more

New hot business! Right off the 101 freeway in Redwood City .. Take the Whipple Rd. Exit. During peak hours, Chik F'la backs up the freeway off ramp and side streets! (kind of annoying) but super Poppin ! Tasty chicken sandwiches and chicken wraps with sides; waffle fries or Mac n cheese and a ton of dipping sauces. Whoever approved of that REDESIGN for the drive thru is a BAFOON. Mobile thru and Drive thru might work ON PAPER, but anyone with real life experience will tell you it doesn't work efficiently in REAL LIFE. So once you get past the politics let face it, Chick-fil-A makes a good chicken sandwich. This location is no different except one critical issue that will keep us away......... The service was exactly what we expect: Spot on. The food was also exactly what we expect: The Grilled Chicken Club: mmmm. The chicken is perfectly cooked and tasty. The bacon does what bacon does best, add that smokey rich goodness. The furnishings were fresh and the bun held up to the end. So why the 3 stars? Location location location. Its horrible. This used to be a McDonalds and it sucked then. You have a small lot, a busy franchise, on a busy street with one way in and out. Its a nightmare and traffic spills up the street.
