Mazra has become one of our favorite family spots. We come here often with our baby, and the staff is always so kind and welcoming. They remember the little things and are incredibly attentive--many times they've brought us water and a high chair before we even had a chance to ask. The food is consistently excellent. Our go-to dishes are the kebabs and the cauliflower, which are always amazing. It's not easy finding a place that has both great food and a genuinely warm atmosphere, but Mazra does both really well. The Cheese Halloumi rolls were nice a crispy with generous amounts of cheese; didn't love it with the honey though. Very fresh pita bread that went well with all the dips. For my entree, I got the garlic rotisserie plate. While the chicken was cooked perfectly, it tasted like a plain rotisserie chicken with no garlic flavor. The garlic flavor just came from the garlic sauce which comes with almost all other entrees anyways. Fries and garlic potatoes were decent. Someone else in my party also ordered the garlic rotisserie chicken and her chicken came out dry, so that raises concerns about consistency. The service was good despite how busy they were. Mazra in Redwood City absolutely lives up to the hype. For flavor and quality alone, I think it's one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the Bay Area. We ordered: Double Kebab Plate (chicken kebab and filet mignon kebab): both were juicy, but the filet mignon was the best. It was tender, flavorful, and easily became our favorite dish of the meal. Steak Shawarma Plate: came with a surprisingly generous amount of meat. The bowl was packed with steak, and every bite was well-seasoned and delicious. Drinks (spiced iced tea and banana date shake): both were great, but the banana date shake was especially satisfying This place is very popular, so be prepared for a wait. We put our name on the waitlist and waited a little over 30 minutes for a table. But once we were seated, the food came out quickly and the service was efficient. The portions are huge, the food is consistently excellent, it's easy to see why there's always a crowd. I can't recommend Mazra enough and will definitely be back. read more

Wow the food is amazing!!! The portion size is so large too that I barely made a dent before taking the rest home. The halloumi cheese rolls.... Giving this place 4/5 stars because it is definitely a bit overhyped imo haha. The food IS good, the restaurant is beautiful, and service was good. HOWEVER, I'm not sure the flavors were anything special. Yes, the food is so vibrant and the variety is awesome. But from all the dishes we got, nothing stood out and made us yell "YUM". The portions are good for the price, but again.....it wasn't too worth it after tasting the food. I was inside the building for approximately 6.2 seconds to grab my bag and then walked about a mile to my hotel where this was consumed. I share that detail with you to illustrate that it's not like I ate this the way god intended. And yet, upon the first bite hitting my lips, the delay in consumption proved to not matter. I really don't know how this managed to be so amazing. Was it the bread? Was it the chicken? Was it the fixins? All of the above? Either way, I loved every bite and the sauces that accompanied were great too. I think one was a little light garlic mix and the other was something with an orangeish hue. I enjoyed taking pretty much every other bite alternating sauces because they were very different but equally enjoyable. So many positive reviews for Mazra, I had to check it out! There are plenty of great Mediterranean spots in the Bay Area, but Mazra exceeded my expectations. It was obvious from the first bite that this wasn't just another kebab-and-hummus restaurant trying to blend in with the rest. I ordered the grilled salmon, and it was cooked perfectly tender, flaky, and finished with a subtle smoky flavor. Even the rice was incredibly flavorful with a slight tang that balanced the richness of the meal really well. The biggest surprise, though, was the fries. They were perfectly crispy with a well seasoned coating that made them hard to stop eating. Next time I'll definitely have to try the whole cauliflower, which looked amazing on nearly every table around us. Even though the cutlery, water, and complimentary tea are self serve and you order your food and drinks via a QR code, the hospitality of the staff is attentive and quick. Also the online menu has pictures for us visual eaters! It's located on pedestrian-friendly walkway with both outdoor and indoor seating but parking is a bit difficult during peak dinner time. I have tried the double kebab plate, the chicken shawarma plate, the roasted beet salad, the whole cauliflower, the grilled lamb chops, the garlic rotisserie chicken, the basmati rice, the French fries, garlic potatoes and nearly all the dips from the hummus to the tzatziki to the baba ganoush. Not a single entree, salad or side disappointed. Every single item I've tried here has been fantastic, perfect texture whether it's crispy or creamy, fresh, delicious and a generous serving size portion. The hype isn't just hype, it's the real deal authentic (and 100% Halal meat) dishes from the Levant and Mediterranean that are prepared over 100% mesquite wood that you can smell it in the air if you dine inside. Wow wow wow, Mazra deserves all the hype! We came for Easter dinner and were prepared to wait long, but they are super efficient and the food is excellent. We ordered the dip trio, whole cauliflower, and 2 kebab plates to share (which was plenty for 3 people). Everything was so good and very filling. Some highlights were the tzatziki, GARLIC POTATOES (trust), and the filet mignon cause it was very tender. They also have complimentary spiced tea which was the perfect end to my meal. Came here on a Friday night around 6:30 and the place was packed. The wait was around 30 minutes, which honestly felt shorter than expected given how busy it was. If you show up after 5:00 PM, be prepared for a solid hour-long wait. The silver lining? Their hospitality is top-tier, they'll keep you hydrated with water and tea while you wait. I've had Mazra bookmarked for ages and it did not disappoint! We went on a Friday night almost around the time of closing and they were still busy. We were worried they weren't seating any more parties, but luckily we were able to get in at the last minute! The space itself looks quite beautiful, with a cool Mediterranean/Middle Eastern vibe and lots of greenery. They had QR codes where you could order from the tables, but we were having trouble with it and were able to order at the register up front. For drinks, we got a mint lemonade and a cantaloupe melon. Both were good, but the cantaloupe melon was especially refreshing and yummy! Now for the food - we got the whole cauliflower, a double kabob plate, and a steak shawarma plate. Both of the plates came with sides, so we got a bunch of the dips to try and some roasted veggies. My fave was 100% the double kebab plate. Everything about it was sooooo flavorful, from the rice to the meat. For the two proteins, we got the chicken and the beef kofta. It was my first time having beef kofta, and I was surprised by how soft and tender the meat was. I was doubly impressed by the chicken, which was white meat, which is normally not my preference, but was still so juicy and flavorful. Ugh it was so good. The whole roasted cauliflower was also good, with a nice crispy exterior and a tahini sauce. Personally, I thought the beef in the steak shawarma plate was a bit dry, but the bf liked it. It's tender with lot of spices and a sauce at the bottom. + Double Kebab Plate (comes with pita and 2 sides) - you choose 2 proteins (lamb and filet mignon in our case), and that sits on a bed of saffron rice. The meats were so tender and flavorful. + Grilled Veggie Bowl (comes with pita and 2 sides) - I never knew veggies could taste this good. Mazra has been in my bookmarks for a long time and finally got to try it out on a Tuesday around 8pm. Parking is a little tricky - ended up finding a spot on the street nearby. We were told that the wait would be between 30-45 minutes so just be aware that the restaurant gets very busy around dinner time. After being seated on the patio, we scanned the QR code and ordered the Grilled Veggie Bowl with fries and hummus and the Falafel wrap, and it was ready within 15 minutes. Water is self-serve Grilled Veggie Bowl (4.5/5): Huge portion size! This alone would have been enough for the both of us. The vegetables were well and seasoned! Hummus tasted fresh and fries were crispy. Would have liked more sauce on the side. Falafel wrap (4/5): The falafels were well cooked - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The wrap was light and simple, and I think more seasoning in the falafels and extra hot sauce and/or tzatziki would have elevated the dish Overall, everything tasted very fresh. We went for dinner today. Waited for 20 minutes to get my name down on the waitlist. If you have such a long waitlist, I am an open table for Yelp for reservations. They told us it could be a week which we were okay with. The table was ready only 55 minutes later. They are drawn out of all vegetarian options for entrees. Why even offer a table if you don't have food. I went and asked their unfriendly hostess but the manager came out and said that he would order us a platter and replace the falafel and he would ring me up at the table. But he told me that I didn't put in order on my phone (which I was unable to because they had run out) Our table was completely ignored and they put a poor disabled persons wheelchair next to my daughter and didn't even bother to check if that other person or we were comfortable. Mr Jorge the manager said he would compensate us for the meal which we would not have accepted but he disappeared right after and didn't care that he literally lied to our faces. The service fee here is charged before the food is brought out and literally everything about this place is a self service. The food was good, the ambience was good but the way you are treated after charging fine dining prices is worse than fast food. We paid over $80 and weren't full, didn't enjoy dinner. If you can't run a restaurant, don't open one. I'm angry at the way I got treated today and honestly I don't do this often. I love to give good reviews but please yelpers avoid Mazra. Came here on a Sunday evening around 5pm? Was pretty busy but not overwhelming just yet. Short line to get our name on the list. Was told 15-20 minutes so one of our party members went next door to get Masala Fries from Zareen's as a quick snack. Not even 3 mins later, we were told our table for MAZRA was ready. We were brought to the back but then they realized they were taking us to the wrong table so we had to go back to where we came from. Got seated with menus and proceeded to order via QR code. Ordering was simple. Scan a QR code, add to cart, and check out. This review is only for my personal experience as I'm sure everyone else enjoyed their food. I ordered the double shawarma plate - opted for chicken and filet mignon (+$2) with hummus and fries as my side ($28 total). I also added their baked chicken wings (8 pieces for $16). The food came out one by one at a reasonable time. At one point, they came out with a Shawarma wrap that nobody ordered. I was the last one to get my order. I had to ask someone to check on my order and when she asked me what it was, I told her my order and she responded "oh maybe the chicken wings is why we are busy." I don't think she meant any harm in that but I thought to myself "did my wings set the whole kitchen behind lol?" 2 mins later, my food came but it was not warm at all so must've been sitting at the window, forgotten. They brought me 2 hummus instead of 1 hummus and 1 fries so I had to ask about it again. Came out in less than 30 seconds. As for the food - everything tasted pretty bland. It definitely needed the sauce they gave but I always think if a food NEEDS the sauce for flavor, something isn't right. As a big fan of their original San Bruno location, we were excited to pick up some lunch from their Redwood City restaurant. The chicken shawarma combo came with 2 sides (veggies and muhammara) and the shawarma supposedly had pomegranate molasses in it but I couldn't quite taste it. The chicken was well cooked and seasoned nicely. The muhammara was the real star of the show and had the perfect balance of nuttiness and sweetness. We are always weak for Eastern Mediterranean food and we have now noted a true gem in Mazra. WOW! It was a beautiful day and when we arrived we were warmly greeted. We asked to be seated on Mazra's delightful outdoor patio and were then guided to an open table. We studied the many temptations on the menu. We ordered the Fried Olives, the Falafel Mezza Sampler, the Garlic Rotisserie Plate, and a Chicken Kabob. We also ordered the Mint Lemonade as a refreshing drink choice. The fried olives were coated in a nicely spiced batter and crunchily fried. (Did he just write "crunchily?") These were a nice opener and teased us with anticipation of the delights to come. The falafel mezza sampler included 6 falafels, Arabic salad, tabbouleh salad, tzatziki, baba ghannoush, hummus, roasted beet dip, and 3 pitas. This was the perfect choice. All of the sampler items were spectacular taste sensations! The pitas were warm, soft, and fantastic with the dipables on the sampler platter. We tucked each falafel into a piece of pita with each sampler item. So good! The garlic rotisserie plate included a herb and garlic seasoned half chicken grilled over mesquite. This was served with rice, pita, and any 2 sides. We chose garlic potatoes and french fries. The chicken was well spiced and very tender. This paired well with the tasty rice. The garlic potatoes were a nice choice along with the fries. We had the other sides on our sampler platter so this way we were able to try them all.
