We stopped in on Monday. Only place open in town. We were seated as well as another group of six. We waited and waited and had to go to the counter to ask for more water. We continue to wait two gentlemen that came in 15 minutes after us were served their food immediately, and they seem to be locals. The waitress never wiped a table down or swept the filth out of a chair. We were there over an hour to get our food. The fish was gross and the two little chicken strips that were grilled, sucked!! 40 40 dollar lunch!! the service sucked and the place was nasty. They told us that the bar was a priority. Literally the only place to eat in town on a Monday besides the "steak house" across the street. It was crowded and there was only one waitress. Food took 1 hour (chicken dish and burger) and it was tasty. My fries were ice cold and my husbands were piping hot. I took 1 star off my review for cleanliness of the place. I wouldn't go back for that reason alone. The entire place looks like it needs a scrub down. IMO if the dining room looks that bad -how horrible is the kitchen? Stopped in to get a burger. Seated ourself and waited to be noticed by the server. Finally got noticed and got some water and ordered. After 45 minutes our order arrived. Should have sent it back. The bun was browned on the grill, very hard to bite into, the burger burnt on the edges and dry in as hell. Never got checked on one time no refills on water until I asked for the check. Small town cafe and bar. It's hard to find real fried chicken up in the northern states but this little place has it. Any time I stop here I get fried chicken and eat it with Tabasco sauce. Their service here is terrible! We stopped here with family we were taking to Glacier. They didn't acknowledge or welcome us. The waitress we had seemed very annoyed we were there, especially when we asked if we could sit on the patio. It was embarrassing. It was not very clean as well. The fan blowing into the kitchen was filthy. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and my husband still left a good tip, but we should have left when we first walked in. Nice local spot to grab dinner after being in the campground a few days, food was overall decent, but they were severely under-staffed on this Wednesday night. About 40 minutes for the food to arrive, but they did tell us up front. My chicken garden salad was a bit under-whelming. We filled our own water glasses a couple times. Probably just need two more staff members on for the rush to help with cleaning tables, taking orders, etc. The lady working was busting her hump, but it was diminishing returns. The one cook was trying to keep up with demand. Had an issue with paying the bill at the end, something with the new credit card system. Not sure what I'll be charged. Will be watching my bill and keeping my receipt. Seems like most local service businesses are under-staffed in the area, so maybe just lower expectations going in, regardless of the place. read more

If you want to know what's happening in Seeley Lake, this is the place to find out. Go around 9 am and find a table of old guys drinking coffee and ask away. One of them will likely be my father in law. Good breakfasts, hot coffee, lots of local color. I've only eaten dinner there once, but have had plenty of breakfasts. I like the hash browns with sausage gravy and sourdough toast, myself. If you're a chicken gizzard fan, try the gizzard meal for dinner. Something you don't find on just any menu. read more

I loved this place, until today. They raised their prices since its tourist season. The chicken strips are amazing, but $12 amazing?? Nope. The waitress never checked in on us, not even once. She dropped off the bill in the middle of our lunch and never came back. We drank our waters pretty quickly before we got our food and we never got a refill. Here's the kicker, we asked for a to-go container and was handed a doggy bag, a legit doggy bag with a picture of a dog on it, she said that's all they had. So I put what was left of my $12 lunch in a doggy bag. I'm super disappointed because we've been here a few times in the last 2 months and have always had excellent service. Three words: Deep Fat Fried! Dropped in for dinner on Friday night and the place was slammed. Good sign! Apparently the locals dig this place. The restaurant is no frills (code word for run down). There's also a bar and casino, which you get the pleasure of seeing and smelling when you visit the bathroom. Everything on the menu, okay almost everything, is fried. You can literally smell the oil when you open the door. I wasn't looking for kale chips here, but there was literally no entree items that wouldn't cause immediate heart distress. I ordered chicken tenders and a salad. The tenders were marginal, the chicken seemed like those frozen tenders you buy at Costco. The problem is the ligament sections were not removed, not great eats. The salad was the standard bagged variety, absolutely nothing special. To round out the evening, the soda was flat. After spending three nights in Seeley Lake, no way I'd return. There are better restaurant options with a wider variety of menu items. read more

We had been told this place had the best fried chicken so we decided to try it...the chicken was delicious! Great batter they use and the chicken was hot, fresh and crispy. It took a while because they obviously are cooking it to perfection. You have your choice of side...I had salad while others in my party had fries. They have a liquor license so we had a beer with our meal which was great. The place is simple, the service was just so-so but the chicken was good. Some of the best chicken, gizzards and french fries ever. Everything was served hot and cooked perfectly. The gentleman cooking came out to check on the food and make sure it was ok. While there the cook, server and another person received calls that their homes were under evacuation orders from Rice Ridge Fire. They finished dealing with current customers and headed home.
